    He's a 6'5 southpaw who can punch.

The fact that Hearn is willing to pay a lot of money to get him to defend his title over here says it all.

Think that's a good point, Hearn wouldn't have chosen this fight if he wasn't confident of an AJ victory. I would imagine that after it is heading towards an AJ v Haye at the end of the year, with the winner to fight Tyson or whoever holds the belt at that time.

Tricky fight, as the guy is a southpaw but would be surprised if AJ lost

Yep. It will be nice to see the young lads give it a go against Premier League opposition.

Pembo has got balls, that's for sure.

Midfield worries me to death. We will miss Korey so much but they're absolutely right to be focussing on the Leeds game. Rather lose 10-0 tonight and get 3 points on Sat than win tonight and get 0/1 point on Sat.

Leeds is winnable for me personally. Hopefully see some of the young un's get on. Whilst a cup run would be a positive, like you say would swap that for shitty 1-0 wins in our next 3/4 league games

Still has a lot to learn, but he showed that he can fight. Took some shots in the 2nd and had to survive  for a minute. Then went from trying to knock him out to boxing him.

I think AJ was rattled by what happened at the end of the first round, which played into Whytes hands and it became a brawl. Once he regained his composure and boxed he looked more comfortable

Yeah I watched it yesterday - the bloke is an idiot and will get knocked out I hope -

I've not seen a heavyweight with the potential of AJ for a long time, he just needs a fight where he actually gets hit back so we can see how he stands up to it.

Whyte has knocked him down in the past, admittedly at amateur level. AJ will knock him out inside two rounds this Saturday.

Yep, Andy Lee and Billy Joe are both gypos. Lee is Tyson Fury's cousin.

Haye had one massively anti climatic fight v Klitschko but other than that ko'd all his opponents at heavyweight level bar Valuev so I'd say his entertainment value ranks pretty high.

    Didn't realise they were cousins

UFC sucks, but each to their own.

The big fights are often anti-climatic to casual fans but rarely to me. Take Mayweather v Pacman, most boxing fans would've told you that fight took place at least 3 years too late and Manny was shot. Couple that with Mayweather's ultra-cautious style and it was always going to be pretty dull. Same with Klitschko v Fury, with all due respect a KO was very unlikely and sure enough it was a poor fight - no way was I gonna pay £17 for it.

Domestically though there's still plenty of good action. Britain currently has 12 world champions so we should be in a 'golden era' of sorts.

You'd have been better off watching DeGale v Bute on Saturday night - DeGale is an exciting boxer with fast hands and will have some big, big fights next year.

Andy Lee v Billie Joe Saunders on 19 December and Quigg v Frampton 27 February will both be entertaining fights I promise you.

Apparently Kell Brook v Timothy Bradley could be on for next year and Adonis Stevenson v Kovalev would be another corker if made.

Andy Lee v Billy Joe will be an interesting fight, and probably the fight of the year. Am I right in saying both from the travelling community?

Quigg v frampton next year also a good match up, not a lot of love between the promoters.

The return of Haye I struggle to get any appetite for at all. His fights generally an anti climax followed by the inevitable excuses.

Should be a cracker but on box nation which I don't have so off to bed!

Anyone give Fury a chance next weekend?

If you have BT Sport they have a show called Boxing Tonight , generally on a Tuesday about 8pm which they show the fight from the week before which was on Box Nation. Haven't seen this week's but I believe they were showing the full fight of Alvarez and Cotto last night
