In real time yesterday (albeit from my seat at the other end of the ground) it didn’t look like a pen because of the obvious change of direction of the ball when Naismith made the tackle. Looking at the footage, VAR might have given it, but as @Davefevs has pointed out, that would have been contrary to the way the game had been reffed (and I thought overall the ref was good yesterday).
I really don’t like the way VAR can over-complicate things to the extent where these grey areas occur. There are justifiable reasons for arguing that a penalty should have been given. But in real time it looked like a good tackle, Naismith got the ball and the ref’s decision to not give the penalty was sound in my opinion.

Entertaining game. City were excellent in the first half. In the second half we never really got going and WBA improved. A draw was a fair result and I’m happy with the point because they looked the more likely winners as the game wore on.

Really hoping for a good performance and a win tomorrow to get our home form up and running. And to avoid seeing Brummies celebrating for the second time this season.

I’ve never been keen on all black as our away kit, but I think it looks good. Thumbs up from me.

Yes, my son is back to his league games tomorrow. In weather like this it’s difficult to imagine all those afternoons standing in the freezing cold and the rain in winter - but that will come around soon enough. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

For me, the 1989-90 team at it’s best was absolutely sublime.

A good away point last night, especially after going a goal down.
Our away form is good. We really do needs to improve at home, though. Our performances at AG have been very drab and lacking in excitement to get the crowd going.

I loved that tackle and his determination to get back and make amends for the mistake. That sort of thing gets the crowd going and really endears players to the fans.
