A lad I grew up with kept "crossing the floor". He started as Gas, switched to City, went back to the Gas, then back to City and ended up as a Man U fan. I haven't seen him in over 20 years, but I would happily bet a lot of money that he supports Man City now.

In the long term that might be for the best, but in the short term it would destroy many of the existing clubs. Not much money seems to filter down, but clubs absolutely rely on the little that does.

True but if those 6 did break away then it would destroy the entire league system. The money will always follow the likes of Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool. In the long run it might not be a bad thing if the top 6 buggered off to a European superleague, but in the short term it would cause chaos in the leagues as the money dried up and clubs started going bust.

At the rate they’re posting here there’ll soon be more 15ers on OTIB than their average crowd.

It had a few Gas related things up on the wall and a few people in Gas shirts.

I ended up in Downend earlier to meet an old mate and we had a pint in the Downend Tavern. I never realised it was a Gas pub but the couple of Rovers related pictures on the wall and the state of the clientele gave it away. We made a break for the Horseshoe after one pint, it was bloody depressing in the Tavern.
