Maybe sometimes you have to consider it lucky the lino/ref called it right!
Fair comment given the usual level of incompetence shown by officials at this level.

Lucky, wolves score but offside.
Never quite understand this comment, used loads in football. How is it lucky? He was offside, he broke the rules. It's not lucky!

Take a point if offered now.

Can't stand Boycott, Vaughan, Swann or Aggers, the rest are alright. Love Tuffers.
What's up with Aggers?!

Several of the Windies stars were missing, Gayle and Bravo to name just two. Both have become T20 specialists and are returning for the one T20 game at Durham............
The remains Windies players are improving as the win at Trent Bridge showed but there is lots of unrest within the Windies set up largely because some Windies players feel they're not paid what they think they're worth. Hence several Windies players go where the money is - T20.
This has been the same for years, time to stop worrying about them, the WIndies test side is the side that just faced us. They will never play test cricket again, it's pointless talking about them. In effect they're retired from test cricket. If Germany went to the euros without Hummels, Boateng, Neuer etc and conceded 7 goals a game, we wouldn't say 'several of the Germany stars were missing'... We'd say they were crap in the tournament...
WIndies test side is awful. The unrest will never change for test cricket, they don't make enough from home tours to pay the players what they want. Like Bumble said on Sky after test 1, forget them, they're irrelevant. WIndies cricket is not in a good place.
-
I will watch and enjoy cricket until the day I die, but I genuinely think that WIndies performance to beat us will be the oddest loss ever... No idea where it came from, they are awful

More than worried about today now.

Flint starts.
Brownhill moved into the middle, Pack dropped.
Zyner starts.

Tough game today, a little worried for the second time this season - Brentford away the first.

Too short to be used by a normal bow, but at the same time looks a bit longer than a crossbow bolt, weird. Was shot in from outside the ground so has to have been something with a bit of power behind it so would imply compound bow or crossbow.
Very odd.

Players at Surrey had to go off as somebody is shooting arrows at the players???...

We're moaning about losing to the Windies, Aussies have just lost to Bangladesh for the first time ever.
3 hours ago, Red Right Hand said:England-style collapse wasn`t it? Weren`t they 150 odd for none and then lost ten for about 70? I haven`t seen the scorecard yet but it sounds awful.

To be fair we lost to them in Dhaka too and ours was worse. We were 100-0 to 168 all out. Bangladesh are a good side, especially on home soil. Should've seen the wicket! WIndies aren't good home or away.

That's true enough. Hopefully it'll serve as a reality check to the team. I hope that the criticism Root will invariably get won't stop him from being positive in future.
I agree. He did the right thing, some of the bowling was shocking, never-mind the fielding. I can't believe how many balls Broad bowled leg side flicked away for 4...
One test away from the ashes and things look bleak. People will point out the Aussies just lost to Banga in Dhaka but let's not forget we were 100-0 there and ended up 168 all out... We just lost to a team in home conditions against a side we beat in under 3 days a week and a half ago. If we're that inconsistent down under it'll be carnage!
Sure the media wont help in next couple of weeks roasting Root for the loss, typical British media.

Good on Root for declaring and making a game of it. Plenty of people moaned endlessly (and often completely fairly) about Strauss and Cook's ludicrously conservative declarations, I think it's refreshing to see a captain not meekly accepting a draw.
I completely agree, our problem in this instance though, was we were facing a side who should never, ever beat us.

I thought my £20 was lost last night, might have a beer now
That was a bit like the football team at times, not putting in the top rate performance when required. England are a couple of top order batsmen and another spinner short of being a very good side.
We have Mason Crane who I am very excited about, getting him in the team is a problem though.
