  1. Furthermore how many players will stay on from this season? Not many I expect. A whole new squad makes it very tricky to progress.
  2. As @Stoke Gifford Red rightly said, I was responding to the point which said "if we pay the same players would choose Villa". If we pay exactly the same wages, not saying we could though, then players would pick us. A club with a manager, stability as we aren't being sold, players who try and currently a feel good atmosphere.
  3. I think any sensible player would pick us over Villa. That club is a shambles from top to bottom.
  4. Yep, as Johnson said we need to consider getting someone in for 6 months due to Fieldings injury.
  5. To me this signals goodbye to Baker and Odemwingie for sure. Excited to see Agard on the right I think, like he used to play for Rotherham. But can also go 442 with Tomlin out wide. Defense is a slight concern but gives them chance to impress.
  6. #BristolCity v Huddersfield Town: O'Donnell, Ayling, Pearce, Williams, Golbourne, Pack, Reid, Bryan, Tomlin, Agard, Kodjia. #BristolCity subs: O'Leary, Vyner, Baker, Wagstaff, Dowling, Freeman, Wilbraham.
  7. Football isn't always played on the floor, especially clearances and goal kicks. Packs height is vital to protect our defence. I'm not saying about Tomlin, it's choosing Freeman who has been out of form all season, over Pack that I have issue with. No one had good games the last two, singling Pack out is harsh as he's been our most consistent player before them.
  8. Why would you drop Pack? The only player with height in our midfield....
  9. The whole student thing is a big myth my opinion. My university has a link with Charlton Athletic but no many go to games because they are either busy on weekends (normally hungover) or see their own teams. I've been to one or two games don't get me wrong, but I've probably only contributed about £20 to the club due to their cheap ticket prices.
  10. Freemans been very poor this season, dropping him may be the best thing to do for all parties.
  11. No bite in our midfield, well whatever midfield we apparently have. They keep getting behind our defence. They aren't nothing special we are just poor. For a while now we win the first header but just head it anywhere, unlike other teams who hear it to their own players.
  12. Last time I was disappointed with Wilbs starting was the Forest game and he got two. Always believe?
  13. Steak and eggs washed down with a few ciders. Now on the platform waiting for my train to the game. Nerves has slightly calmed, very much so looking forward to this game now.
  14. I have to disagree with some bits. Pearce has played one game, he wasn't great but it would be hard to pick any CB over Flint and Baker right now. They have been pretty solid and it would be harsh to drop them. Same issue regarding Williams, you can't drop our CB's and you can't drop Goulbourne. How would Pearce or Williams get games otherwise? Little and Reid I agree with though.
  15. GK: RO'D RB: Matthews CB: Flint, Baker LB: Goulbourne CM: Pack, Bryan RM: Wagstaff CAM: Tomlin LM: Freeman ST: Kodjia
  16. My biggest disappointment is Tomlin, should of played to the whistle instead of appealing for a penalty, now been booked in tunnel. School boy stuff.
  17. I have a feeling it will be 2-1 to us (just), unfortunately their defence isn't as poor as it was against Chelsea otherwise I'd say 3/4-1. Kodjia and Little for us.
  18. Because I'm a local I've just realised I can't chant "this place is a sh*thole I wanna go home" today.
  19. I live 20 minutes from the ground, have been waiting for this fixture all season. Charlton are a very poor team so I'm hoping for a comfortable two goal lead by half time and then finish them off good and proper in the second half. Stocked up on cider to celebrate if we do win today! COYR
  20. Disagree about Flint and Williams. Have had some poor games but have had some great ones too.
  21. Not a massive fan of this host on BT Sport to be honest. Nice to see James speaking so highly of the club.
  22. I love Cotts and had genuine hopes we'd do well this season. We played very well at the start of the season just weren't really getting the results. Now we have no excuses as our performances are poor to average at best. Starting to think a change may be needed manager wise, unless Cotts has deals already agreed for January.
