Its not tactic he usually advocates.
We haven’t got the ball over the top, in behind them enough imho. Too many balls chipped / driven at head height. They are pedestrian at the back.

Not sure that's any better...
Pisano certainly played more at CB than LB in his career. Maybe Kelly and Eliasson having a go at Rangel?

Paterson is this season's Pack/Maggers/a n other scapegoat.
Could be rotation. Eliasson didn’t start Saturday, back tonight.

So who else would you have selected?
I might have an opinion on a starting line-up, might not agree with one, might’ve done something differently myself....but I’ve learned that deciding the outcome of the match and individual player performances normally comes back to bite you on the bum.
This is the team picked, every player has the chance to stake their claim.
Good luck to the 11 (or 14) who take part tonight. Go prove OTIB wrong, especially Matty Taylor.

Another bingo ball team....
watkins ? Am I missing something with him ?
Let’s see how he performs in his Natural wide position first....assuming he is playing wide

Matty Taylor for 90 minutes. Yay
Huge chance for him. Thought he was poor Saturday, but wish him all the best tonight. City career changer / season changer?
Assuming will line-up as;
Mäenpää | Hunt Webster Kelly Pisano | Watkins Pack Brownhill Eliasson | Taylor Weimann
Watkins / Eliasson interchangeable.
Taylor Moore back on bench.

Have to agree...........if it's obvious to the majority of supporters, then surely LJ had to be aware of our short term problem? So he chose to ignore it, and was prepared to field a weakened side, rather than address it. We then miss the possible opportunity to make a solid start to our season...........and just perhaps end up playing catch up with the top half of the table? If we were prepared to spend 3.9M Euros on a keeper a few weeks ago [We ended up getting one on a free].....how come suddenly our lack of recruitment is down to finances, when we saved 3.9M and also sold Duric and Bryan [7M?] , this is after we bid for the Columbus keeper. Doesn't seem to add up? Am I missing something? What a shame that one of the excellent, brave and insightful journalists who cover City didn't think to ask about that?
It may be we’ll go back in for Steffen in the winter window...the money might still be needed.

Wtf was Webster doing / thinking for the first goal
Ducking instead of going and heading the ********** ball
I couldn’t believe it. Who was he ‘challenging’? Assombolonga? Who did it hit on the back. I think his lack of attempting to head the ball cost us the goal...I feel for Hunt because he had to react and was at full stretch.

Be interested to see what the xG post-match ratings are for City’s chances.

Eliasson vs Friend is the battle I'm looking forward to seeing.
Always rated Friend, good at both ends of the pitch.

It’s a better name than one that involves a part of a motorway

Well done City. Good resolve to fight back twice and somehow it’s still alive....
Good resolve, but from stream and radio, another poor away performance.
But if we win on Monday, it will be a decent Easter.

Problem is Hegeler is poor in the air for such a big man

Don’t necessarily disagree with either, but Wright on a yellow and having a poor game v Moore....a change might be worth it.
-
Hegeler for Wright possibly....Moore dominating Wright

I still don't get why he hasn't played Kelly after 2 clean sheets and 2 man of the match performances. Paterson poor again from what I saw and what I have heard. Makes no sense to me.
Holden said pre-match, that with the 2x England u20 matches on top of those 2 performances it was a consideration. I think Kelly at LB and Bryan LM on Monday would see a positive crowd reaction. Might even see that today?

And to think many don't rate our 1 in 2 man Fammy...
Really poor first half that but we did improve slightly after a shocking first 25. I'd have Kelly on for Pato and switch him with Bryan on that wing. Sadly we have no replacement really for Wright who looks poor.
Wright has been below par in most games for quite a while. Assuming Baker gets through today, then I think we will see Pisano, Flint, Baker and either Kelly / Bryan on Monday. I’d be more than happy with either of those back 4s.
