  1. Would it be fair to assume the most you'll save on your electricity bill would be 20% pa for average couple at home most of the day?
  2. Apologies if I am hijacking this thread but I would be grateful if anyone could tell me how much a decent battery storage system would cost for the solar panels. Assume a home for 2 adults who generally will be in during the day. I understand the concept that this will help us in the daytime use of all domestic appliances. Batteries will help for night-time use. However, I haven't seen any estimates as to the cost. All I can see from MoneySavingExpert etc is that we can save around £95 to £230 per year off our normal electricity bill. I know that Northern Ireland is somewhat North of Bristol but it would give me a good idea of what I can expect. BTW, whilst we are still part of the UK we don't get the scheme you get re extra payments for selling electricity back to National Grid. We can sell but not under the scheme. Any thoughts on the above would be welcomed. Many thanks.
  3. Tell Mrs SJ that even the French don't have 3 toilets. Toulouse is enough.
  4. I'm not a big fan of Guinness but I have to say that Dark Matters is really good. Do the max for brewing and conditioning.
  5. Really looking forward to your reviews. I have Uplands conditioning right now. I won't do Peach Face as fruit shouldn't be in beer! Space Hopper has rave reviews but too strong for me.
  6. Guinness Zero is actually very good. I did a blind taste with our next door neighbour who is Guinness mad. The test was between Zero and Normal Guinness. Both in a can and both had the widget. He did not know one of them was non-alcoholic. He assumed it was from my Pinter! He preferred the Zero saying it was slightly creamier. He couldn't believe it was Zero when I subsequently revealed the winning beer!
  7. Masala, Assuming nothing goes wrong in the above plan, what will be your first brew? I'm asking for a friend!
  8. I'm not a great fan of lager. Budvar is great, however. This is Lockwood which is meant to be slightly fruity. Their Czech Republic was ok but the one we enjoyed the most was the West Nuevo Californian style lager. Will order that one again. I have brewed for maximum (8 days) and conditioned for 14 days. As you can see it is a craft style lager! Bottling it with brewer's carbonated drops should increase the clarity by the weekend. I will be leaving these bottles covered but in a warm place in the kitchen. It's the same place as to where the pinter brews. To kill any extra fermentation, I will place the bottles in the fridge on Thursday night. Friday should be just fine for drinking! We'll find out.
  9. As it is an audio feed, your data allowance should be fine as not that much will be eaten.
  10. Yep. If you've a smart phone, go to bcfc.co.uk and pay £2.50 to listen to the game live. Commentary is via Radio Brizz. If your car has any kind of infotainment system either Bluetooth the audio or use a mini jack from your phone to the aux in. Failing that, get an anti-slip mat, put phone on top of dashboard, turn volume up and enjoy listening to our win! The closer your phone to the windscreen, the less chance of buffering. My phone works well enough left on the passenger seat.
  11. And yet your first sentence was what happened. He reacted instinctively by using the outside of his boot to make a 40 odd yard pass for Nahki to score the winner at QPR. The 2 defenders had no chance cutting out the pass. Sublime, magnificent and a pass to grace any world stage let alone ours. It was a privilege to see that pass and subsequent finish, standing behind the goal that day. I'd be interested to know who else could have made a perfect pass for the oncoming Nahki. Go to 8 mins for multi camera replays of this goal.
  12. I feel cheated! To think I had thought the Wurzels were the original spoofers of the classic Melanie song. Brendan O'Shaughnessy
  13. Was that the game when future Rovers boss Penney scythed down Junior Bent who was in full steam mode on the touchline? At the rear of the terrace was a small hut serving hot drinks. They had a paper plate on the serving hatch which was full of sugar lumps. City was attacking our end in the first half. We had just won our first corner when their keeper was suddenly pelted with sugar lumps. The ball was cleared but the 6 yd box was left littered in white cubes.
  14. 4r Yep. Went to both of your nominations. 3rd worst would be Wrexham on a cold, wet winter's night during the Pulis regime. It was 0-0 and we were lucky to get 0! A pathetic, abject display. I could nominate a Plymouth game that has been well documented elsewhere on OTIB. We weren't allowed into the ground let alone get off the chartered train so I never witnessed how bad a performance it was!
  15. I heard he started to sell German sausages. Consequently he had the best of months and the wurst
  16. No but I've heard of people going with packets of Rennie's Antacids. They have a digestive problem.
  17. And naturally a Quo track would provide the basis of the East End chant for him. No, not Caroline!
  18. Lie it flat in the fridge. You don't have to stand it upright. The app is here... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thepinterapp
