  1. Many many thanks to Barrs Court Red and Rob k for replies. Really helpful. Daughter booked tickets. All done Now feeling guilty because 73 years ago, when I was 5, I first became obsessed with City. What a roller coaster ride that has been. Hope in 70 odd years time he will look back at half a century of top flight and European football. Well I can dream on his behalf can’t I ?
  2. My point exactly. Not top six and simply mid championship players at best
  3. No. Just pointing out how ignorant our Chairman is. At least NP was a realist
  4. Exactly what I am thinking. Pity some of the others aren’t doing the same; or perhaps they are simply not as good as they think they are.
  5. Hi all. I am seeking advice for my daughter. Her family live in Sussex and are coming to Ashton Gate for their 5 year old to see his first game. She says City’s booking site is confusing. It says Upper Lansdown is for families but it has different prices. so question is. Is the Upper Lansdown for families? Can you see from that position ? Why different prices, are we right in assuming cheaper seats have restricted views? Any help much appreciated. My grandson represents the fifth generation of City supporters, from 19th to 21st century.
  6. Deck chairs on Titanic
  7. Every away game, except Eastville (when horse refused to risk it).
  8. That was one of our best teams ever. Real quality across the pitch. Would be happy to have that quality today. Solid defence, defensive and creative midfield, and a frontline with goal scoring potential everywhere you look.A d look at the wider squad : Derrick, Crowe, Merrick, Garland. We have to ask how have we landed up today with a performance like that at the weekend
  9. At some point the club will have to spend and take the risk, if we are ever going to make it in the current climate. To minimise that risk we need a good core side (which I don’t think the current one is) with some ex Prem players (with something left in their legs) some good homegrown talent, and, dare I say it, an experienced manager or, at least, a successful one. An owner prepared to take the risk by major January signings, to build on those made the previous summer. A international scouting infrastructure which at present we seem to lack. Above all we need a goal scorer, if possible a two man striking team scoring regularly. Not much to ask if we had owners like Wrexham have. It really isn’t that difficult given money and belief.
  10. And thus if we are serious about promotion he must go at the optimum time for us to cash in. And for the same reason we should keep the precious gems, like Scott, who come along so seldom - that is why we need new investors.
  11. Real boots which prevented many of the foot injuries of today
  12. All just silly jargon. Give me plain speaking a la Brian Clough or ………..(fill this in for yourselves!)
  13. Yes, sale. Before his profile drops

Five but none of which score on anything like a regular basis. Move them all on, unless Manning thinks he can improve Conway
  15. Supporting City over the decades is like living through some Gothick novel, where, whatever we do to go forward, we land up exactly back where we began (add in any date in our less than illustrious history you care to)
  16. If he is allowed to. Non league goals scorers won’t cut the custard
  17. Would Williams have dared to do that under Nige? I very much doubt it. Indiscipline like that is a very poor sign To prove he isn’t football’s equivalent of the Prime Minister, Manning needs to fine Williams and drop him until he can get his attitude right. If he doesn’t know how, just phone down to Somerset
  18. Disgraceful pictures from Ashton Gate on Sky. can it get worse? Sadly experience says ‘yes’
  19. Shocking. Another home defeat. Normal service resumed. After Birmingham away and today at home Manning must be doubting the wisdom of taking over at City. Why, oh why, can we never build on success when it comes. Now 4 points out of last 9.
  20. I guess with limited resources Manning can’t do much to change the momentum. We need a proven striker asap. We need a playmaker, also asap. I guess we shall basically see young players ‘signed’ for a future that may never come. Exactly what we have done with the Irish player. And then be forced to play them, as in the case of Tanner.
