  1. No I don't think it is and judging by people I spoke to at the AG redevelopment presentation at the Gate a few months back, the club haven't given up yet.

I don't see fighting this now as helping the Gas, is combining forces to help Bristol as a city, because if the Nimbies get away with this, you can be sure they won't stop there and we'll be back to driving horses and carts in a car-less city by the time they've finished!

Would the Animal Rights people let us use horses?

Seriously, you're right. We should fight this alongside the Gas and Glos CCC, unless we want to become a tourist village for Londoners to have second homes.

  2. Think this survey about best place to live was to do with house prices and disposable income etc. and made Bristol out as best place to live regards this.

Live in Manchester now and when you see the developments that take place here compared to Bristol it's staggering. Until Bristol decides to pull itself out of its cosy little village status then it will always be a backwater and a place to stop at on the way to Devon/Cornwall.

Never mind Manchester - Cardiff will do. It's all about incomers who think they've moved to Lymeswold-on-Avon :(

  3. I think both clubs need to go back to the drawing board.......and just change the applications

    from " football Stadium " to "re-cycling centre "

    They would piss through !

    or even 'cycling centre' ;)

  4. The problem with using safe standing as the basis of a 30,000 capacity, is how many people would want to stand? There are some supporters who like to stand, but today this is a minority, as most want to sit.  If we ever get to the stage where gates are around the 30,000 level a lot of these extra people will be new / casual supporters. Some might want to stand, but personally, I think these new supporters will be used to watching football on TV and will expect a bit of comfort.  If all they can do is stand, they may decide to stay at home and continue watching Sky football on their sofas.

How do you know? We haven't had the option for twenty plus years. Personally, I prefer to stand, but don't get the chance, There will be many more like me.

  5. I for one am totally pissed off with this statement.

Our Manager is a complete PR liability to our club !!

SOD, please in future keep your mouth well and truly shut

Would that help when Schlockhausen makes it up anyway. Apparently the Post is printing a retraction, probably at the bottom of page 27 under the adverts for massage parlours.
