  1. The Coach

    JASON EUELL

I had it down Euell would have taken over following Pearsons leave. How wrong I was
  2. Good win. Something to build upon. Still a lot to improve upon. Well done all the team
  3. Wouldn’t say we’re doing really well. Content and better that what we’ve seen recently however. Biggest test is the second half to see if we can maintain our shape and keep the lead.
  4. No. He will make a decent career in the Championship, may have a small chance of taste in the PL Jude will go on to be England’s greatest ever player.
  5. Should have just given the head coach role to Naismith.
  6. This is what happens when you remove a highly experienced qualified manager with a head coach with nothing on his CV and no experience at this level.
  7. Works out 8 points for me in the next 5 games Have a feeling Birmingham may actually result in 0 points as they appear one of our bogey teams in recent seasons
  8. Fair play to Wes. But he has spent a lot of years in league one prior to one season in the championship. Some players need to go elsewhere/make a drop in order to improve.
  9. Said it last season when even then was in a bit of form and I got stick for it. Not a championship player. Will end up carving a career in league one.
  10. In the last decade alone, we've seen some big clubs drop down from the PL, into the Championship and even into League One. Prime examples being the likes of Leeds United, Leicester City, Sunderland, Norwich City, Portsmouth, Wolves etc and now Ipswich Town look to join that list. Granted, Portsmouth are yet to recover from their near collapse to climb back into the Championship at the very least. But we have seen the others above fall into League One. With the ability to eventually recover, and fire themselves back into the Championship and back into the Premier League (where one could argue they truly belong). These clubs have also been subject to new ownership over time. However, they still seem to have the blueprint and planning in place to eventually get back to the place they originally fell from. What makes these clubs so different and so successful compared to Bristol City? The easy answer is the long stewardship of Lansdown but does it lie deeper than that? I made a post a couple of years ago when Sunderland were struggling in League One that they will be back in the Premier League before we ever see top flight football and I'm sure there are now many who would agree with that statement. It wasn't long ago Aston Villa were in the Championship, and now they sit 3rd in the PL with a very impressive victory over Man City last night. Where they completely played Man City off the park. Add salt into the wounds that we have also witnessed smaller clubs have the taste of top flight football in recent years; with the likes of Bournemouth, Luton, Blackpool, and one could argue even Burnley. To add further insult, I'm sure none will want to remember our Welsh rivals both Cardiff and Swansea not so long ago were playing top flight football and rubbing shoulders with the footballing giants. How many more clubs will bypass us as we continue to linger in the Championship or even fall into League One if the Manning era does not work out? What other clubs could eventually take over us who currently lie in the lower leagues? Could Bolton Wanders make a resurgence into the PL before we get there? Even Portsmouth who currently sit top of League One? It's echoed many times, but the life of a Bristol City fan always feels like you're stood still while others are constantly overtaking us.
  11. That’s been my response for some time. But we all know he’s going nowhere unless things are real bad.
  12. My concern is not this season but the next. We will most likely end up lower end/mid table again this season thanks to NP and team. But going into next season under Manning and team is a huge concern.
  13. Bell and Mehmeti are currently league one players. I can’t see either carving out a decent career at this level and may find their trade in League One. I said this last season about Bell and got criticised heavily for my opinion. I’m still not convinced by Conway either. Both Bell and Conway lack natural intelligence in their forward roles. Which is hard to train into a player. It comes naturally.
  14. Vyner showing his old level again. Why I wasn’t supportive of a new contract.
  15. So deflated not even angry. Fed up with the club and the muppets in charge.
