  1. But in football terms. They were… Also believe if Pep got us to the same state it would be the same viewpoint. Regardless of how we were playing.
  2. You’re talking about two different generations of talent from what Hodgson had to now what Southgate has. Not that I rated Hodgson. We have one of the most exciting teams in the world. Yet a clueless manager who does not know how to utilise such talent, nor come up with a plan b. I will be happy to see him gone following the Euros. Should have gone after World Cup.
  3. Won’t win anything under Southgate
  4. If Pearson was to leave end of season could he be a target or will he wanting to be aiming higher? See Reims are 4th in the league so had a good start.
  5. Wonder if you’d be able to switch it on mid game when the opposition are on the attack? ?
  6. Nige won’t walk. He’s not that type or character. He will just look ahead and know he won’t be here next season and can sail off into the sunset with peace of mind.
  7. If anything the Real Madrid and Barcelona squads were much more heated in rivalry. But they always managed to come together as a nation. Honestly, it’s overlooked how much of an effect Ferguson had on the England camp.
  8. I blame Alex Ferguson for England’s lack of success. He’s the one who burrowed into the mindset of the Man U players representing England not to mix with the Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea lot. Funny how we’re much more a solid unit since he retired at United
  9. It’s not a surprise though. GS won’t change.
  10. I don’t think that says a lot about us to be honest
  11. Be glad when we see the back of Southgate
  12. Funnily on Sky Sports news they did a topic of discussion of his sacking. It was highlighted fans were irritated by his bizarre interviews, amount of goals they’ve conceded without closing down opposition and the money spent on transfers with little improvement. Sound familiar?
  13. I honestly can’t see him getting a gig in League One. Think it will have to be league two, possibly even National League. A big fish in National League may not be a bad spot for Lee. Gives him the opportunity to rebuild his managerial career. Or build…as it’s been a poor 10 year career so far.
  14. Called it almost a year ago. Can see this happening now. He won’t get another football league job.
  15. Forest Green Rovers might be a shout for him
  16. Will call it now. If Pearson isn’t extended beyond 2024 and we carry on the same trajectory we are on. We will be relegated by the end of the 2024/2025 season.
  17. What I said. I think he will head off to Italy, Turkey or Greece and will rebuild his career from there.
  18. Growing more of the thought Pearsons contract will not be renewed and we will be going into the summer looking for a new manager. As some have said above. Lansdown doesn’t seem too appealed by experienced managers who know what they’re doing and will tell Steve some hidden truths. He likes the young yes man type. My way or the highway. Lansdown needs to sell up and go. Fed up of smaller clubs doing better than us. Then clubs who have dropped into massive shit in recent years (Sunderland, Ipswich etc) pull themselves together and progress. If it is case Pearson goes. I would look at Plymouths manager. However, knowing Lansdown he will just give the job to Jason Euell. Still wouldn’t rule out Lee Johnson either knowing SL. If that was to ever happen. I’d be done with City for good.
  19. Keeping an eye on the game from Las Vegas. Think I better go back to bed!
  20. I can just see David Brent saying this
  21. Am of the mindset Bell needs a spell in league one. His overall decision making has been poor at times.
  22. Unless you’re top of the food chain. You’re always going to lose your best players to bigger teams. I genuinely never understand how there are still a lot of football fans who don’t understand this. It’s not even just about the club. The players heads will have turned also. Bar a couple of players that were part of our academy. How many players did Johnson actually work to improve on to then have a big sell on? I can only think of Webster and Brownhill top of my head. Where did the rest go? Either released or cheap transfer details to lower league sides or overseas. Lee Johnson was a failed experiment. 10 years in football management with a Johnstones paint trophy to his name. Doesn’t look great does it.
  23. I don’t think Newcastle will get in there. Believe now that they have European football the fixtures will sap their energy. I think Chelsea will grab 4th.
  24. Thanks @Davefevs funnily enough was going to respond with yourself tagged to provide such data ? Therefore my point is valid and truthful. Just have to look at the player turnover during Johnson’s time.
