  1. Zak has done well to get to the level he has and the hardwork and development under Pearson has come to fruition. I was one calling for him to be released and felt he was a league one player at best.

However, he has proved himself a championship defender in my book. But not one that will help us take us to the next level.

He is extremely casual at times and does have a mistake in him to lose the ball more than once in a game. Again, if we’re serious about challenging for the top 6. We would need an upgrade on Zak.

Well that’s a real bummer.  In my heart of hearts, I’d hoped LM would keep him around.  His exoerience, guidance of young players will be a big loss.

It will be. However I feel the club (JL and BT) see King as part of the Pearson setup.

I think we all know they would like all traces of Pearson removed.

  3. Manning will go nowhere anytime soon if things don’t go well.

BT and JL will do what they can to justify their position to remove NP and to hire LM. In this case, back him with money to make the signings in order to make it work… all sound familiar?

I’m not convinced by Manning as I’ve stated previously and do feel we will put ourselves in a position come the time we will need an experienced head to come in and steady the ship. Round the track we go ago.

Whatever happens come the end of the season. Fans should not forget what JL and BT have done and stated. Therefore should continue to be accountable for this seasons outcome.

I suspect it comes from a lack of strategy and ambition on the pitch. That’s a view those who spend their hard earned cash on the pitch are entitled to express. However much others try to shout them down.

Last night was great but actually it just highlights the problem for me. The first, second and third priority of the club should be premiership football. Yet we seem expected to consider a ‘good cup run’ every few years as reward enough.

It is hugely depressing that the Bristol City memories talked about are Tinnion against Liverpool or Don Gillies against Leeds from decades ago.

On what they claim to be their top objective the current regime has failed. Supporters are entitled to point that out.

That’s actually a very good point. Just shows we do not have any real history of success and makes us still look rather tinpot and underachievers.

Just as an aside - not sure if many people realise but Forest Green’s training ground is actually here in Chippenham. Quite a long way from Nailsworth! It’s part of a public facility - my son plays up there a lot, often sees the players and was thrilled to meet Matty Taylor recently, as well as Deeney. They’re always friendly so based on that and nothing else I hope they stay up!

Heard the same but thought that cannot be true. Up Stanley Park?

    I don’t see that myself.

In fact quite the opposite for me. We are built more on engine and guts…or were due to the hard work of Pearson and team.

Unfortunately that only gets you so far. You do need real talent and intelligence in order to get to the PL. But with that, you also need to be prepared to invest.

Will the replay be the first time he`ll have been back to AG for a game since he left us? I suppose he might have been back as manager of PNE or Everton but can`t recall.

Everton in the cup 20 years ago or so.
