In fairness, Ashton  (who I dislike a lot) had little or nothing to do with appointing LJ or Holden. He did have a lot to do with appointing McKenna. As annoying as that all is.

Facts are, Ashton will have overseen , what seems certain now, a double promotion. He makes me feel like taking some Kwells, but I can see beyond that, and the guy has earned every plaudit going for this. So you have to ask, why he failed at BCFC. We all know that answer. There is a common theme.

I've thought the same re Ashton a few times. Credit to him for what he/they've achieved but it doesn't make him likeable does it ?

I had a garden bench delivered by Almondsbury Garden Centre this evening. I can honestly say that I was rather disappointed to find there was no Mbude attached.

The man who was tasked with getting this club back on track following years of reckless ownership and blind faith in poor managers. He achieved this and more in my book. A togetherness between players and fans we hadn’t seen since Cotts. It was one of those rare situations where fans were on the managers side yet the board wanted rid.

At the end of the day, if it was results, personality clashes, Nige’s health… the reason becomes almost redundant. What is clear is the way in which SL, JL and BT made an absolute shitshow of things and why Nige shouldn’t even give them the time of day.

Exactly my thoughts, what Nige & his team did for this/OUR club was exceptional & he should have had the backing to see what could have been achieved, he was let down badly.

    It's arrived

Only just started listening, but one thing that made me laugh.

When asked "are confidentiality clauses forever " Nine replies "ask me in 12 months time" :laughcont:

I liked Nige from day 1 & still consider him to be the best I've seen in charge of BCFC since I've been a supporter since the age of 7yrs, I'm now 76 yrs. In saying that I honestly hope that LM does well & I do support him hoping he's not just another person hung out to dry like so many more before him, but the first 10 mins of this interview enforces to me what 2 faced back stabbing b+++++++ds are running OUR club. The sooner things change at the very top the better as far as I'm concerned, I wish Nige nothing but the very best in the future.

    The man is all class!.

So I go - cautiously - on signs of change. But that change has been exercised in part by a release of pressure. And I think it’s a change in the managerial approach. If that was borne of necessity due to how things were going I don’t care - just realise that we’re better this way and keep going down that track and people, including myself, will be happy.

Agree - seemed more personable this time around. I don't think that it's realistic to expect him to go after half a season. I'll judge him properly post a summer transfer window. Must be doing better prior to Christmas.....he knows this.

Yes, I think that's the only way we can judge fairly

Indeed - the change in demeanour was noticeable and I wonder if it was a coincidence that a more relaxed LM used “stock phrases” less - I don’t think we heard “behaviours” or “process” once.

Exactly SD & I don't recall the "Bravery" call either

  8. That was by far the best interview I've yet seen from LM, tbf he's been under immense pressure (wonder why) so to see him in that relaxed way was a lot easier to take. I'll see what the next few results bring & then try & relax before it all starts again.

Since when has “on the grass” come into the game? They all bloody say it nowadays. It’s probably only been the last 2-3 years I’ve heard it and now everyone says it!

They used to say “on the training pitch”. And in those days, the training pitch was actually made of grass.

Now they say “on the grass” when in fact the training pitch is now made of artificial fibres!!

How stupid. Surely they should either say “on the training pitch” or “on the desso”, because saying “grass” is not strictly true!

Hi Harry, it seems that it gets to you in the same way that reporters get to me by saying "2 Decades ago or 1 Decade on  from now", what the **** is wrong with 20yrs ago or 10 yrs on from now. It makes my pi55 boil :grr: .

Sorry mate just having my old age rant, wouldn't have happened 2 decades 20yrs ago

There was talk on here recently about who we'd have in the trenches alongside us.

Dickie Rooks would be on my list!

    RIP mate.

My choice would have been Kylie Monogue........, but I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky lucky.

    Sorry guys .

RIP Dickie & best wishes to his family.

Arghhhhhhh, it’s not Nige v Liam.  It’s about Liam only, versus expectations at the point he’s taken over.

If all you’ve got is “he’s only a tinsy winsy bit worse than Nige”, and you thought Nige was crap, it’s hardly a strong argument is it?

Arghhhhhhh this Nige v Liam is still going on isn't it Dave?

For me, I've  nothing against Liam, why wouldn't he take the job?. It's the underhanded manner in which it was done that still hurts me greatly. For the first time in my memory as a City supporter I felt we were in very good hands with Nige & his team, what the outcome would have been, sadly we'll never know will we?.

You can never fully know what player you are going to get, only have to look at two of our high profile loanees turned perms in to know that even when theres try before we buy it doesn’t always work.

said before that with twine and mebude there’s a case of thinking what type of player you might want, getting them in and seeing how it works, hence the loan. If it is that player great, sign him up or if not available someone similar. Mebude is currently an enigma. Must be a player in there but wrong time of the season to find him - but of course could have gone another way.. potentially undervalued needs the right coach and right situation etc

Would one of those be Tomlin ?

Credit where it is due however i am reserving judgement on Manning untill we see a proper upturn in results and not just another flash in the pan which this result could very well turn out to be again..

Agreed, credit is due but it can't be underestimated the improvement of the team with presence of James back in the side after a spell out, we do perform better with him in, imo.

    Watching The Women's Football Show.

A segment on Lauren Smith showed this.

Never a more appropriate slogan for this ownership.

And hasn't that proved to be true, in all my yrs (approx 68'ish) supporting City, I've never felt so disenchanted with the club:dunno:.

Bet he regrets pulling out of last November's Internationals in favour of training with the 'new manager,' now.

According to the Post Tommy has said "Liam Manning has come in and I’m learning a lot under him. Huge credit to him and his assistants, I’ve learned a lot from them and I’m in a good place at the minute."

So, are we possibly missing something with LM (fwiw I don't think so) or is this just Tommy trying to protect his position until a move is made?
