Apologies if this has been mentioned previously, however watching AS leave the pitch on Saturday he didn't look like someone who had played their last game for the club. I'd therefore speculate that (at that time) there was and is nothing serious happening (bid wise), and as @petehinton has said the club would be reluctant to do a late deal with insufficient time to source a replacement.

I've found on previous occasions like this that the owner and finder will fight for the phone. Is this a possible solution? Just trying to be helpful...?

Yes, I disagree. I've always thought Sam looked a little lightweight for the first team, however last night (having watched the whole game apart from some time spent abusing Swans fans reminding them of the score, which country we are from, what they do in their spare time and that Wales lost to Iran in the WC) he more than held his own, ran hard and massively impacted the game. He also didn't fall over a lot. Hope that answers your questions...
