  1. I have no idea about Eupen as I've never been there but social distancing at the Constant Vanden Stock for the 6,000 permitted will be easy.
  2. EFL are to appeal the 2nd charge against Derby relating to the amortisation of assets.
  3. The obvious problem with mandatory masks is that they will negate atmosphere as they muffle noise. I've even seen it suggested that no singing or chanting will be allowed. Not sure therefore if the players will notice the difference between real people and cardboard crowdies. If attendance is allowed as a ST holder I'd have no problem with a ballot to determine whether I could go, and being assigned a seat for the gane if successful. Its certainly fairer than a discriminatory determination by age, risk etc without recourse to asking my views.
  4. Following on from Dover Athletic in the national league putting their entire squad up for sale, Droylsden have resigned from the Northern Premier League and all Cup competitions. With clubhouses being shut during the pandemic, a major income stream for non-league clubs, its tough out there.
  5. As a ST holder I would accept a fair rotation system and if I can't sit with my mates so be it. At 63 with T2 diabetes I am apparently in an at risk group, but I would like to be asked whether I wish to attend (at my risk) rather than be told I can't.
  6. Better performance but lost at least a point through 2 pieces of stupidity which can't be catered for. Stupid challenge by Weimann to concede the free kick on the edge of the box, and wtf was Williams doing.
  7. Why? A bunch of non league promotions and a single promotion from L2 to L1. Might as well suggest Darrell Clark.
  8. Peter Carol are not taking City fans to Blackburn via Coventry and Derby.
  9. So why would they want to risk a second wave of infections possibly passed by several hundred people from the third most infectious country on the planet.
  10. What a bloody daft thing to do. Let's travel round the world in 20 cigar tubes to play a bunch of pointless football games. If we don't infect the Aussies we'll have a go at passing infection at the stop off point.
  11. It ain't happening without rigorous testing of all involved. Not just playing and coaching staff, but officials, stadium staff, caterers, police etc. At least 100 people I reckon.
  12. The talk about ending the season by playing games behind closed doors in a 56 day period is just that....talk. Even a game behind closed doors can't be played without close on 100 persons in and around the stadium particularly if it's to be televised and will definitely have to include a police presence to turn away the numptys that will inevitably turn up Unless all these people have been tested and shown clear of the virus it cannot, and must not be allowed to go ahead. I see no prospect of safely playing matches until well into the autumn at the earliest and as unpalatable as it may the season should be voided.
  13. I am a regular online shopper with Morrisons (who are supplied bo Ocado) and Sainsburys. However neither has logged me as a vulnerable customer and its proved impossible to contact them by email or phone to argue the point.
  14. Provided its not food from a supermarket. Whether vulnerable or not can't get a delivery for love nor money.
  15. A beermat on a table in a pub! That's a rarity these days, there usually locked away in cupboards. As for the Vile man himself he's probably counting the cost of his beer going off. Wetherspoons rely on rapid turnover of product as they buy the equivalent of wine bin-ends.
  16. As someone who it seems to have an underlying condition, type 2 diabetes (and only one kidney) I would welcome greater clarity. I would be happy to self isolate for several months, provided I could have delivery of those provisions I need, but remain unclear as to the need when I possess no symptoms of the virus. We are being told that all of the 35 who have sadly died thus far had underlying health conditions, but that in itself doesn't seem enough. I don't wish to pry into anyone's grief but it would assist me to know how many of the 35 had type 2 diabetes, or have some indication of the severity of the underlying conditions that caused the tragic loss of life.
  17. All this talk of lawsuits is a nonsense, with the sole exception of if a club was to go to the wall. Any other football related lawsuits are unlikely to get an early hearing, if heard at all, when there are many more pressing cases that are in need of court time, especially when that time might also be reduced due to the impact of the virus. The English courts have never shown interest in involving themselves in football, the running of which is pretty autonomous in this country. They have no interest in promotion or relegation issues and will expect the football authorities to sort themselves out. I for one would be horrified that precious court time should be used on such nonsense.
  18. A lot of difficult decisions ahead that whatever the outcome is going to upset somebody. Health must be the overriding factor but economics will clearly play a part. A lot of clubs will have factored in revenues from the remaining games in their season budget, which will only be partly offset by savings on stewarding, police etc. If the league is declared finished I wonder what the position on compensation claims will be.
  19. I'd rather the league was suspended than playing matches behind closed doors. Professional football played in empty stadiums is pointless. Players want the atmosphere of a crowd to perform at their best.
  20. IF I was as callous as you, or pragmatic as you see it, I would ask why wait, but I would never wish that on your family and friends.
  21. As one of (no doubt) many on here who have a parent in their 80s I take exception to your cavalier attitude to their demise. Why not just advocate euphanasia and be done with it.
  22. I don't wish to play the threat of corona virus down, especially as someone who is over 60, has type 2 and only one kidney puts me in the at risk group, but we are miles off the government prediction of one fith of the workforce off work. As of yesterday the UK had 116 cases and one death from 18000 tested. The UK working population, including about 4M self employed in around 30M, a fifth of which is 6M. By all means take the threat seriously but let's not panic yet.
  23. Signed from Fulham? I thought Timmy was a young Ram.
  24. I have never understood why the rules regarding parachute payments have not been strengthened such that parachute payments can only be used to satisfy current contracts I. E. those contracts in being at the point of relegation. They cannot be used for new contracts or as money for transfers etc.
