  1. As one of (no doubt) many on here who have a parent in their 80s I take exception to your cavalier attitude to their demise. Why not just advocate euphanasia and be done with it.
  2. I don't wish to play the threat of corona virus down, especially as someone who is over 60, has type 2 and only one kidney puts me in the at risk group, but we are miles off the government prediction of one fith of the workforce off work. As of yesterday the UK had 116 cases and one death from 18000 tested. The UK working population, including about 4M self employed in around 30M, a fifth of which is 6M. By all means take the threat seriously but let's not panic yet.
  3. Signed from Fulham? I thought Timmy was a young Ram.
  4. I have never understood why the rules regarding parachute payments have not been strengthened such that parachute payments can only be used to satisfy current contracts I. E. those contracts in being at the point of relegation. They cannot be used for new contracts or as money for transfers etc.
  5. Forget the FA and EFL, as I've said before get the NAO in. The state of football finances needs an independent review. When it comes to football finance and business due diligence I wouldn't trust the FA and EFL to run a bath.
  6. But are they? I know they're only just over 6 miles apart but Bolton's traditional rivals are Wigan. That rivalry extends beyond football.
  7. One of the friendliest clubs I ever visited. Its the 2-2 draw for me, when a certain Paddy Kenney in the Bury goal made stunning save after stunning save. With South Park popular at the time I still remember the plaintive plea 'FFS somebody kill Kenney'
  8. Super idea, let's make it happen. I loved the tweet from Kevin Taylor 'football connects us, colours divide us, Bobby inspires us'
  9. We have long suspected the EFL and FA was incompetent (if not corrupt) in the area of due diligence (and indeed VAR) but who are they going to get punished by. FIFA/UEFA don't interfere in domestic football, and if the government intervened FIFA would throw a hissy fit.
  10. FGR today signed goalkeeper Adam Smith who was released by the SAGS (after playing 28 league games in 2 seasons). On signing Smith said ‘I think it’s a good opportunity to move my game on to the next level’. Don’t you just love it.
  11. A soft embargo to me is not enough. In my opinion, any accounts not submitted to the EFL by the due date should result in an automatic immediate 3 point deduction, to be additional to any subsequent deductions if the club is found to be in breach of FFP.
  12. This year’s summer window opened on May 6 for the EFL and May 16 for the Premier league.
  13. Very dignified interview with Neil Warnock today. His pain was clear to see.
  14. Absolutely dreadful news. I pray that Sala and the pilot are found safe and well.
  15. I understand that someone at GL Events has misplaced the spanner from the Meccano set.
  16. It was not an easy return last night. Every time we go away from home for a night game one or more sections of motorway are closed due to men not working. Got home from Manchester round about 02:40 and about 01:15 last night.
  17. Some criticism of Mags is fair. He is at this moment I think the weakest link of the back 4 that started last night. He is the least assured on the ball in one touch passing situations and looks susceptible when needing to turn against the long ball over the top. He likes to let the ball drop and there is always some concern as to how he will deal with the situation and what connection he’s going to make with the ball. That said, he continues to improve and for every little mistake he may have made last night, you could point to many more instances where his positioning and defensive qualities stood out. If Baker is out for out length of time, he now has the chance to show the qualities we bought him for, and the faith that LJ clearly has in him.
  18. A superb pulsating game, with no quarter asked or given, and both teams going all out for the win. We rode our luck at times, but we looked dangerous every time we came forward and deserved our point for our bravery. Every player put in a real shift tonight; but I would like to pick out Josh Brownhill who improves with every game, and Bobby Reid, where does he get that energy guy from?
