If SL wasn't our owner but he had been employed & trusted with someone else's money to make ALL the decisions.
How long do you think he would've lasted in the 'job'?
Also imagine that 'someone's' reaction if they had just returned from extended leave (22 yrs ). 'So Steve, we're still not in the Premier league & I see we haven't been in there once in the 22 years I've been away!? Not only that but you've bought a rugby & basketball team & saddled me with over £200 million in debt which I'm never likely to get back as no one's gonna buy us now ffs you melt! Our merch is shit too! I may as well have left Marina in charge. Now get your coat and take crayon boy with you
Imagine… you decided to go on a Bristol City forum, name yourself after a great Spielberg movie. Then waste 5 minutes, or so, of your time posting a load of old tosh, on said forum.
Just imagine!

Manning also says ‘terrific’ a lot, but in the grand scheme of things, who really cares?
Here’s to a great 2024 for our reds!
And to whomever may read this, I’d like to wish you a happy new year!

I would expect Phil Alexander to be a guest on SOTC a week, or two, after the transfer window shuts!

Actually optimistic if we can be able to get McCrorie back fit.
McLeary. McCrorie, Vyner, Dickie, Pring, Naismith, TGH, Knight - as a base and spine could be quite tasty.Have we signed a new GK? Who’s McLeary

Yep. Not sure what part of "His price is £25M" some don't understand.
I think a few people are starting to panic, because they're worried he'll start to lose value (contract length) or if he goes late in the window, we wont have time to add to the squad before 1st September.
I don't think the club will panic though. The price is set, pay it or don't darken our door.
His value could quite conceivably increase, if Scott plays well between the start of the season, and the January transfer window.
Clubs do love to panic buy in January!

If Scotty is gonna be loaned back to us for the whole season, we get a guaranteed £20M, £5M in achievable add-ons, plus a 20% sell on. He’s gonna be gone, assuming he doesn’t mind playing for Bournemouth (or whichever team it ends up being).
Despite NP dislike of getting loan players in, I’m pretty sure NP would make an exception in this case.

Can we also not call Alex Scott a DM as in Defensive Midfielder. He is not that at all.
He might be a DM as in deep midfielder.
I’d rather we just called him a “midfielder” because he can play many roles.
Putting Scott’s position in terms of midfield numbers, you’d have to say he’s either a number 8, or a number 10.
I personally see his best position is as a number 8.

As much as I would have liked having JB back, I’m not too worried that he has decided to go elsewhere. There are plenty of other options, out there, that can be a backup / future replacement for Pring.
Strengthening at CB, DCM & and another GK to challenge MOL would be my priority signings. A bonus would possibly be us signing a target man type striker, and Scotty signs an extension to his current contract and stays for one more season (injuries permitting, I can only see his value going up).

The youngster is just that. Bryan is a lot more versatile than simply being an option at LB.
We can do with both.
I’m not saying I’m against us signing JB, or wanting us to sell Cam Pring, but where would that put Bell & Mehmeti, if we signed JB and Currie, whilst keeping Pring?
First world problems,.

The only way I can possibly see us resigning JB, during this summer’s transfer window, would be if we sold Cam Pring.
If we did that the I could see us signing JB and the youngster, Jack Currie, from AFC Wimbledon.

I think Wilson’s future here doesn’t look too promising. Unless he pulls something out the bag in pre season…
Doesn't sound dissimilar to what was being said about Zak Vyner, during the last off season, and look what’s happened this season. So don’t write Wilson off just yet.

No goal from open play in 3.5 games now.
Scott has to bury that header. He's way too tepid in front of goal for a player of his ability.
Tight half, we def had the better opportunities.
I assume 3.5 games includes the match against Man City, so really it’s 2.5 league games. Which doesn’t seem quite as bad, does it.

Now that Scott is playing next to James, the likelihood that he picks up a booking has certainly increased. Bringing on the promising, yet extremely inexperienced OTC, so we could move Scott back to the number 10 position, would be a huge gamble by NP.
With Williams likely to be out for a lengthy spell, we can’t really afford to loose Scott to suspension for the next 2 matches. From what NP said in the prematch presser, they don’t want to rush Naismith back to quickly, probably first match after the upcoming international break.
Decisions, decisions!

Wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve looked at emulating parts of Luton’s recruitment strategy in the last couple years. Obviously the easiest way to do this is just buy their best players.
Is he one of their best players though?
