  1. They seem to be complaining that the net wasn't moved which is what I was told. I imagine the stewards told them to bugger off into the mass swathe of empty seats to their right. Maybe they don't know which way is right? Now I understand why the stewards didn't move the net, they didn't need to move the damn thing!
  2. I do wonder why, when a fight starts, they think singing that awful dirge helps?
  3. Fair enough Pete, he is a mate but he's also a staunch gashead. I should know better really.
  4. All joking aside, a gas supporting friend of mine was caught up in this and has ended up on crutches for a couple of weeks through no fault of his own. As he's a self employed plasterer, that's a real problem for him. I've been told there were not enough seats in the assigned area and that the stewards were telling people to sit down when there was nowhere to sit and it kicked off from there. They MAY be the innocent party for a change?
  5. No way? You are on a serious wind up surely?
  6. What a crock of crap! When did you last average 11k let alone 15k? 19k is absolutely laughable. Pure unadulterated delusion, just as we have grown to expect from a methane snorter.
  7. Totally appreciated but that's no fun KITR.
  8. Have you seen their away 'stand'? Decent ground I think not.
  9. I don't disagree that any new stadium would see an increase, fair comment. My issue (yes, I was after a nibble, thanks for that) is that you can fill your 'shocking' stadium sometimes so what's the excuse for 8000 home fans for Northampton when you are near the top of the table? I have no idea what we averaged at the old Gate when we were near the top of L1 but it was a lot more than 8k. During the promotion season, with a reduced capacity and a ground which was a building site, we were sold out, for home tickets, at virtually every game and the ground was an absolute mess at the time. Swansea, Hull, Reading AND Wigan were promoted to the top table as their new grounds appeared, even you could probably sell out if that ever happened to you, we definitely would. As RRH asked, do you believe the UWE will still happen? Not having a dig, just interested.
  10. We could always compare our away followings at Fulham, Newcastle and Villa? No, hang on, there's a problem with that! At least if we lose the replay, we get to play a Villa side without Kodjia.
  11. They had 8424 for a very important league game. We had a paltry 10,301 for a cup game which didn't really get the pulses racing. I would hope we, at least, double that next week.
  12. Fair enough fella. I don't know them so was just asking a question. No offence meant.
  13. He's stood on a terrace in most of his videos which would suggest that isn't true St A R.
  14. I assume he's probably working towards a job behind the cameras at some point and good luck to him as the experience will do him no harm. As said, he doesn't slag us off and some of his stuff is decent. It doesn't make his dad any less of a dick though. Good luck to Jake.
  15. FWIW, I agree with you. The old man is a right plum though.
  16. No but go to 2 minutes and listen to the 'dad' on this beauty. What a belter!
  17. Not by gas maths, that's 50/50 by their reckoning! One of them 'gert sheeds' was really a rovers fan but was forced to wear red by city fans in the away end making it 75% gas, obviously! As for the 'bus' argument, is that why no bugger turned up for their 'we're not non league anymore' celebration?
  18. I can't disagree with that Miah apart from the highlighted bit. As a nipper, my cousins lived on the Hillfields estate and that was pure gas as I remember it. I also agree about missing out on a whole generation while you were in Bath. You survived, that's the only positive of your time at Trumpton, the rest is pure romanticism as it was, and still is, an absolute hole! The problem about the 'more nostalgic' idea is that the £££ in the top 2 divisions is obscene nowadays, more so in the Prem, but even our division seems to be awash with cash nowadays. To compete at championship level over more than one season demands higher turnover and 'nostalgia' won't bring that. The next time I hear the cry of 'sheethead' from a house, I will know where you live but make sure it's quite loud as I'm getting on a bit!
  19. Old Icegas bit like a snapper didn't he / she /it? Good work people.
  20. Spot on South Glos. As a youngster growing up in Kingswood in the 70's, I rarely saw a City shirt although the football special buses from Kingswood park to Ashton Gate were always packed. We were very much in the miinority in those days by a vast number. Nowadays, all I see is kids in City shirts. An example, my road in Barrs Court, has loads of kids under 14 and every single one is a City fan and I mean every single one of them. My post about 50/50 was probably a tad optimistic but it's nowhere near the 99% gas our methane snorting chum has mentioned. Go in Hanham Wetherspoons on a Saturday night and there are loads of City fans in there. The Flowerpot and the Lamb are staunch gas pubs but the rest are pretty even TBH.
  21. I'm not even sure Kingswood is 50% blue anymore let alone Bristol. Loads of red on this side of town now, especially amongst the younger generation.
  22. It was '5hit or bust' for Bris today, a loss would have meant more than probable relegation hence the improved atmosphere. Compare that to one of our play off games and it was nowhere near the atmosphere we generate at a similarly important match. Good as it was today, the last 2 rugby games I have been down to, both Sale games, have had such a depressing atmosphere, really, really bad. It was better today but it was a 'must win' game.
  23. Let's be honest here, they were getting the UWE land on the cheap, as usual, in exchange for the stadium naming rights. Now the UWE actually want market value for the land they're up in arms about it and saying UWE are holding them to ransom. Why should the UWE give them the land for less than market value? Would they sell their houses for 1/4 of the actual value if any of them actually owned one? I think not. There is no way they should be given anything cheap, they're the 6th richest club in the world aren't they or something like that?
