  1. No but go to 2 minutes and listen to the 'dad' on this beauty. What a belter!
  2. Not by gas maths, that's 50/50 by their reckoning! One of them 'gert sheeds' was really a rovers fan but was forced to wear red by city fans in the away end making it 75% gas, obviously! As for the 'bus' argument, is that why no bugger turned up for their 'we're not non league anymore' celebration?
  3. I can't disagree with that Miah apart from the highlighted bit. As a nipper, my cousins lived on the Hillfields estate and that was pure gas as I remember it. I also agree about missing out on a whole generation while you were in Bath. You survived, that's the only positive of your time at Trumpton, the rest is pure romanticism as it was, and still is, an absolute hole! The problem about the 'more nostalgic' idea is that the £££ in the top 2 divisions is obscene nowadays, more so in the Prem, but even our division seems to be awash with cash nowadays. To compete at championship level over more than one season demands higher turnover and 'nostalgia' won't bring that. The next time I hear the cry of 'sheethead' from a house, I will know where you live but make sure it's quite loud as I'm getting on a bit!
  4. Old Icegas bit like a snapper didn't he / she /it? Good work people.
  5. Spot on South Glos. As a youngster growing up in Kingswood in the 70's, I rarely saw a City shirt although the football special buses from Kingswood park to Ashton Gate were always packed. We were very much in the miinority in those days by a vast number. Nowadays, all I see is kids in City shirts. An example, my road in Barrs Court, has loads of kids under 14 and every single one is a City fan and I mean every single one of them. My post about 50/50 was probably a tad optimistic but it's nowhere near the 99% gas our methane snorting chum has mentioned. Go in Hanham Wetherspoons on a Saturday night and there are loads of City fans in there. The Flowerpot and the Lamb are staunch gas pubs but the rest are pretty even TBH.
  6. I'm not even sure Kingswood is 50% blue anymore let alone Bristol. Loads of red on this side of town now, especially amongst the younger generation.
  7. It was '5hit or bust' for Bris today, a loss would have meant more than probable relegation hence the improved atmosphere. Compare that to one of our play off games and it was nowhere near the atmosphere we generate at a similarly important match. Good as it was today, the last 2 rugby games I have been down to, both Sale games, have had such a depressing atmosphere, really, really bad. It was better today but it was a 'must win' game.
  8. Let's be honest here, they were getting the UWE land on the cheap, as usual, in exchange for the stadium naming rights. Now the UWE actually want market value for the land they're up in arms about it and saying UWE are holding them to ransom. Why should the UWE give them the land for less than market value? Would they sell their houses for 1/4 of the actual value if any of them actually owned one? I think not. There is no way they should be given anything cheap, they're the 6th richest club in the world aren't they or something like that?
  9. Now I'm sure Whale Alquaida previously said they 'were only looking at the UWE site and have no interest in any other'? Now, by all accounts, he has tweeted 'A merry xmas and reassuring that we will DEFINITELY be getting a new stadium, if not at uwe then somewhere else'. Curtains for UWE then? There's a surprise.
  10. So their new level 3 facility will mean they are 'coming for us' again even though we've had a level 2 facility for years then? YAAAWWWWNNN. OTIB Also, didn't they have a habit of giving out good news before some bad news? Hmmmm, I wonder.
  11. I thought you were gonna say a season ticket. The second prize would be 2 season tickets!
  12. They beat a wildfowl trust? They must be so prowed!
  13. Was I in the bar? I might have been TBH. Actually, I probably was.. I was in the bar Robbo.
  14. How long does planning permission last for? I thought they had to start a car park or something by now to keep it?
  15. Coming for us mind. Don't forget Charlton got stuffed by Swindon!
  16. I thought he had some sort of clause inserted when he signed his contract in the summer but that might be rumour. IF he only signed a 1 year deal, I would imagine less than £2M would suffice.
  17. I know this is bollox but how funny would this be if it was true? 21 hours ago Quote Post by nobbygas on 21 hours ago A problem has arisen. In the original design there was a flaw in that the pitch would have been 7 metres too short. To include the full-sized pitch means that further Planning Approval is needed as the stadium will need to be expanded. I am not ITK, but I do know some things.
  18. You couldn't beat an egg at our level, not that you need to worry about that. Please can you get to the 3rd round and draw us?
  19. To be fair to UWE, why wouldn't they ask for market value for a premium piece of land? None of us would flog our houses cheaply, unless it was to family. Another case of rovers stealing / wanting things on the cheap again maybe?
  20. Yep, totally agree. Never a red but as it's the rovers, I think it was a superb decision!
  21. I found the whole occasion quite depressing tbh. No passion on the pitch apart from Lemi and Hurrell and even less in the stands. Most people by me in E29 weren't even watching the game, just chatting. When the team needed the support to lift them, nothing at all. I felt there was a resignation to defeat tbh. The only positive thing was a Bath supporting mate came with me and the stadium blew him away. I won't be going again.
  22. Happy anniversary day to all reds for tomorrow. Here's to the next 16 years!
