Everyone seems so glum tonight. I thought it was another positive display. We passed the ball well and with pace. We chased the ball down, our tails were up! I’m loving watching us play at the moment. We are always a threat. We are a million miles away from where we were a few seasons back.

    COYRs

They missed 2 1 on 1's. I know Semenyo also missed a good chance but on balance I'd be much happier with my team's performance if I was a Coventry fan tonight despite their league position. Apart from realising why we let KP go of course!

We are being entertained and exciting to watch

Just pushed an ex prem side to the end

I think Nige may bolster the central midfield v Burnley and change things up a bit

Let’s not get too carried away - Norwich could not cope in the PL last year and this side would arguably struggle this year.

City played well but the opposition are not PL quality.

Who would've thought Tommy Conway would be the catalyst for a change in fortune. Him and Wells up front have changed the whole balance of the side. Long may it continue.

I think the majority of us knew / thought that having mobile strikers like Conway and Wells (instead of Martin) who will press from the front and create space with runs would be much more successful.

Why NP didn’t do this sooner is the puzzle!

  4. There was a moment in the first half where we broke on the right and Han had 2 choices (both unmarked) - a safe pass square and a forward diagonal in space - not much longer distance.

He took the safe pass and the move stalled eventually as they regrouped.

This sums up the majority of games I’ve seen him in - he needs at the very least a very different midfield partner. Sadly I can’t see him changing a game this year playing like this.

I really wish they would delete the "Confused" logo response, as it means **** All, and is pointless?.....Sad and Hmm! ...are fair enough, but  "Confused" is just a cop out, and similar to Bart's "Doh!".    If you don't get it, then respond accordingly? , but i suspect it is probably just forum members who are either too lazy or  just incapable of articulating a point of view, who mainly use it?........I now await a whole bunch of hilarious  "Confused"  responses to my post?   Ha!!

I like it. I always thought the emoji was a polite way of signalling that the post is complete nonsense!
    That’s how most use it.

Why would anyone even bother trying to win an argument that’s too stupid.

  6. What’s particularly insightful is NP saying there has been no interest in him. That is designed to destabilise his confidence. I know he’s young and popular but I reckon he’s had about four outstanding 90 minute performances.

Clearly he has to be consistently impactful to attract the attention of the Premier / top Leagues in Europe.

That said, I wish Pearson wouldn’t try these mind games in public (like with Backinson) it doesn’t seem fair on young players, who are probably simply following their agents strategy to get better deals.

It annoys me he takes all the set pieces when Scott’s delivery is much better

Did he complete a single cross today - seemed to want to play everything along the floor which was then intercepted?

He’s young and will have poor games, but today show’s he’s nowhere near the price bracket fans are quoting or PL standard- a move would just need another championship loan.

Playing against 10 men doesn’t entitle you to a win. From where I was sat they looked like they were trying.

Do you think we changed our shape to exploit the opportunity, or did we keep on doing the same thing, with the same formation, hoping we might get another header on target?

Should Pearson request that the ref stops the game so that he can deliver a 20 minute training session before continuing with the match?

Choosing to criticise the manager for "just standing on the touchline" during the game is just strange. There are many problems at our club right now - how animated our manager is during the match isn't in the top 100.

Ironically, when Pearson sat in the stand to actively try to get an alternative view of the match, he was heavily criticised for that too.

While I’m no expert, I believe most team’s practice games with and against 10 men. It shouldn’t be too hard to change tactics mid match - most teams do this - why are you giving Pearson a pass on the basic requirements (to change tactics to counter the opposition)?

Always found this a strange criticism of managers. Realistically, what's he supposed to do other than "stand on the touchline"? Run onto the pitch and join in?

Perhaps coach them so they play better against 10 players?

I think he’ll walk at the end of the season .

    Of course he won’t.

Everyone needs to realise he’s working here because he wants a wage.

No manager walks away from another 2 years contract voluntarily unless they are already rich - I very much doubt he is in this category, or he wouldn’t be here in the first place (it’s not for love) and his spell here will have tarnished his chance anywhere else.

Who knows what up at present. But he needs support being so young from NP and us lot, the fans whatever

No player gets more support - his song is sung regardless of form. Think his head has been turned and he’s trying too hard.

    He’s definitely not downed tools.

He might have had a bad game but he certainly wasn’t alone in that first half.

He was the worst player on the pitch by a country mile - even the Birmingham fans were singing about him.

Yes he’s young and I can forgive the useless defending but even in attack he was worse than useless - he simply couldn’t adjust to the game to affect it or complete a pass.

He should have been subbed much earlier.

He now needs a league 2 loan. Surely even HNM would have been better?

He didn’t just miss he did a Tomlin and absolutely skied it. Funny as….

But of course Tomlin did this on purpose - as per yesterday’s thread. Just shows pressure can make anyone screw up.

It wasn’t just a job to him, he was not only accepted but unconditionally loved by us fans, in his crappy little flat above a sweet shop, where fans delivered him homemade food during the pandemic, last night was a man all alone having had his heart broken by some ***** that he gave everything to.

It's all very sweet, but he was earning £8m a year by all accounts!!

If gave all this away, he deserves more than a statue.

At this moment in our season , give me Weimann and Semenyo everytime.

Surely him, Semenyo and Weimann could be a brilliant partnership - Martin battled but did little last night, thought his touch was poor - he held up nothing but momentum!
