Wasn’t many chances in the game really.  Stoke got into good positions but didn’t get shots off when they should.  Fletcher header hit post, Chester header far post glanced wide. Campbell slash into side netting.

Too many in the first 5 mins - could easily have been 2 down!

I sit in the Lower Lansdown and totally agree they are too bright - especially the white and Orange - and I agree I have never bought anything based on these advertising boards.

I’ve also raised it with the club and here’s Jerry’s reply …

Just had an interesting conversation with our commercial team.  SO we have maximum and minimum level we have to adhere to due to EFL regulations so games like Blackburn which start in daylight and end in the dark they have to reduce the brightness as the light changes which they did and apologies if it wasn't reduced quickly enough, it will always end up on the minimum permitted when dark.

They advise that the boards are aimed for the TV coverage especially with the Stoke game being live Sky but there is a maximum and minimum brightness.

    Cheers Jerry

I do think the club need to realise the effect it has on the ‘customer experience’ and I wonder if anyone has ever worked out if it is any benefit to the companies who advertise - or is it just the club raking in the money!

The more who complain may make the club rethink!

The TV coverage explanation doesn’t make a lot of sense - for the signs pointing towards the Dolman crowd - I didn’t think there were any cameras in the Dolman that would capture this ?

  3. It’s incredibly annoying especially in The Dolman if you sit in the lower tier.

I can’t understand the logic of showing a few thousand fans the same adverts again and again - it’s not like a tv audience will see it.

Just another example of prioritising (presumably) a very small profit before a very bad fan experience - thank you for raising it, I thought it was just me!

    Starting 11....................

    Bentley

    Kalas| Atkinson| Baker | JD

    Tanner | HNM | James | Pring

    Weimann/Wells | Martin

    Subs..................

    O'Leary

    Simpson

    O'Dowda | Bakinson | Scott | Palmer

    Weimann/Wells

    Squad.......................

    Benarous | King |Williams

    Semenyo | Conway

Tanner has shown very little ability to get wide and put a decent cross in?

There is no attacking creativity or goals in midfield either?

    Time to spin again!

  5. We should select an 11 who are most comfortable on the ball.

We will continue to have few chances / shots but at least we can stop being overrun.

    So unfortunately no unproven youngsters.

Palmer has to play, JD, James (hopefully), HNM as a midfield that actually attempt to pass and move.

Perhaps AW and NW up front who will at least run into space?

Agree with the above comment about telling Bentley and the defence to stop hoofing it,

    Surely it can't get worse.

Niki Maenpaa is at Venezia and has played a few games in Serie A this season, although they've since signed Romero the ex-Man Utd keeper on a free so he's now back on the bench.

I still think if Niki M had been able to stay fit he would have been our long term number 1.

It was so frustrating when he started to get a run and show good form he would be injured again.

One day we should probably have a City injury 11 - with Joe as captain and Nathan as coach (he will be unavailable for selection)

Agreed. I wouldn’t be against Warnock coming in. At this level their are few better and that is not my opinion speaking that is facts speaking.

    But the style of football??

Would you sit through 6 months of packed defences just to possibly stay up?

Most of the players havent been good enough for three years in some cases under 3 managers, and 4 assistants despite having 'talent' in this squad.

I disagree - they need to be coached so we are difficult to beat. Even with limited talent we should see some level of improvement- there is none. Where is the coaching or is he simply picking a team and setting tactics they can’t execute?

  9. But everyone loves Tanner because he made a few block tackles.

We should never have expected him to be able to step up to this level so soon.

Likewise Vyner has never looked confident and I’ve no idea where the player who wore JD’s shirt last season has gone?

But against all this, the midfield offer no cover - inc HNM who has been part of this mess for too long as well.

Because he knows his hands are tied! WTF don’t you understand? The players are soft as shit, and it’s doesn’t matter who’s in charge for as long as we have these players. That’s on MA but the buck stops with SL.

Yes his hands are tied but that doesn’t mean he can’t coach improvement- that is the least we should expect from an experienced manager.

He must step up and improve the players who have talent like Kasey and JD not simply cast them aside.

  11. Interesting what Tony Mowbray said yesterday after getting hammered by Fulham.

Something along the lines of, if we were regularly getting beaten 3-0 we would have a soft under belly (they were not, we are) hopefully Ole’s proposed training camp could put some strength in our abs.

We definitely need to toughen up whether we recruit or not.

  12. But who’s going to create the chances for the new striker everyone wants?

I’m convinced Nakki and Andi will score if we create chances.

At the moment we seem to knock it long more often than not - our midfield are one of the weakest in the Championship this is the immediate problem.

Indeed, i am of the view he is finished here. A shame but he has been given more than enough opportunities.

I think he needs a sustained run in the team something he definitely hasn't had.

I think he wants to do well and so when he gets the chance, tries too hard. He's aware of his position.

I'm not blind to his bad performances - he was anonymous vs Forest when he should have tried to get on the ball. This is why I think Pearson has him sitting on his "punishment bus" at the moment.

We have invested so much in him financially surely in a team that's struggling to create chancesor goals from midfield we need to give him 3 games guaranteed and hope he can recreate his best form? There is a quality player in there and comparing him to Tomlin is, in my opinion, unfair as he does mostly put a shift in - if anything I would like to see less sliding tackles.

  14. TBF he was under significant pressure - it wasn't an open goal.

I think I have seen more opposition easy misses this season than ever.

If that had gone in, I can't begin to imagine the reaction of the crowd or how different we would all feel right now.

And the mad thing, even Pearson admits this, is we weren't good today and the stats show we were outplayed by the bottom team.

Not sure luck will last long.

Most of us are happy to have a team of players who will bust a gut for the shirt. We accept that they are rarely world beaters otherwise they wouldn’t be with us.

Interesting - did you see that today?

HNM aside, I didn't think the closing down (outside defence) was visible - Martin was static and hardly putting in a shift, Bakinson wasn't even trying to cover and close down in the the middle of the pitch and James was hardly putting it about. I thought very few players bust anything today aside from Pring's foot?

Pearson plays these players on merit. Fans are entitled to assess their performance on the same basis.

Or he is trying to make a point (rather like Cottrill did, but slightly differently) about only having these available because he doesn't trust the more senior pro's?

Not for Pearson out all the other hysterical stuff, but the guy definitely ballsed up taking off Tanner in the way he did.

    A really silly decision.

    And he signed Simpson.

But most importantly thought Simpson could do a job in this league.

Do you think the standard changed significantly while Pearson was out of it (mostly through parachute financing) and he simply under estimated the quality?

I understand it’s not completely his fault, but this is a major red flag for a player he sees regularly in training.
