  1. No shocks with the England XI. Why are there only a couple of thousand in the stands though? Embarrassingly empty...
  2. I've never seen a game live, but growing up watching films like Brewster's Millions, always wanted to catch a game. Going to Seattle next week and have a ticket to see the Mariners, looking forward to it (but not the $17 a beer prices, especially with this appalling exchange rate!!!)
  3. **** you Delia Smith, Alan Partridge, Ruth Madoc from Hi-di-hi.... ******* eat that!!! super Tommy Conway back in the game...
  4. I think next to keeping our best players this window, our success this season comes down to CB and injuries. I've loved watching Naismith this season, but if he was unavailable for a prolonged period, we would be much weaker, with next to zero backup. Probably being unrealistic or greedy but would love us to get another CB in!
  5. It was frustrating hearing Rob Keys interviewed by Atherton during the last Test. It's an immovable object in the calendar. Sounds like Keys has no power to do anything about it!
  6. I'm watching trent on their way to beating welsh fire. Sky talking about the welsh lot, saying "they need more Glamorgan players in their team, as they represent Glamorgan" - not even pretending any more that they are a team for the 3 SW counties! I totally get why so many of you hate it - I'm a more recent cricket fan who loves watching England in white ball games, been to see several England games and Blast games, but much as I dislike aspects of this format, I am enjoying watching the english lads smack it about, on nights when there's no footy on.
  7. very much my sentiments, looking forward to match days now!
  8. why waste your time posting here then? yawn off.
  9. could be a close game this evening...
  10. I enjoyed that - will never stop being annoyed there isn't a team in SW England, but that was a fun game to watch. Hales, purely on ability and form, is far more deserving that Roy in the last 12 months for me, but seems he will never be in the England squad again. Does anybody here know why he has been ostracized these last 3 years since his 21 day ban? Malan in superb form, I've certainly changed my opinion on him this year, he is smacking it at a very impressive strike rate.
  11. jesus. they have kept the same graphics hahaha
  12. Hampshire looks half empty... unless you listen to Sky "electric atmosphere!!!"
  13. Rather enjoyed the final, though was the first game of the tournament I'd watched. Cracking finish for our first goal. Be interested to see how the game improves between now and the next WC. I wish the media would give it a rest though, all the "no more years of hurt" headlines. With the greatest respect, that is based around the continued failings of the men's team. It doesn't look like those following the ladies will have to endure so much pain and disappointment moving forward!
  14. Don't see SA getting near 200 after that start!
  15. also also, and i'm a fairly recent convert to cricket, but I was so incredibly impressed when Sky interviewed Buttler in the midst of the recent India test. he speaks so well, and intelligently. I won't roll out tired cricket/rugby vs footy cliches, but he seems a properly good bloke, very intelligent, and i was very happy for him today to get back on par against India. I hope he does well as captain, tough act to follow, and infinitely harder task than what Stokes has been faced with, as the white ball expectations are so high. ok semi-drunken rant over!!
  16. also, i just love how Root handles himself. I saw him interviewed after the recent test win v India, where he had batted so well, and he was so modest and self deprecating, almost mocking his own time as captain. Class act. In 20 years nobody will be saying such things about Kohli, regardless of how fantastic of a batsman he has been.
  17. well, looking at Root and Kholi specifically, Root has had a ridiculous 18 months or so with the bat, going from trailing Kohli to leading him for centuries in test matches. easier to drop back into the team when you're on fire, and arguably getting better... can't be easy for such a confident chap as Kohli to be struggling so badly for so long I guess. not defending him though, finally gave up defending him with that blown kiss at bairstow... part of me wishes the england team rose to him a bit more, would love to have seen him on the end of some verbals with all these low scores he keeps making, haha
  18. Also, loved Willey taking Kholi's wicket. Never thought I'd say it, but having Kholi in their team is working for us, not them. Been out of form for a couple of years, and I genuinely wonder how much his team mates enjoy his antics...
  19. So happy with that result, and great for Topley. Sets up Sunday nicely. Bit surprising how badly our top 5 or 6 have fared against India. As great as their attack is, Buttler, Ali, Bairstow etc been quality in the IPL. Imagine if we had a fully fit / available Wood, Rashid and Archer on the pitch!
  20. No replays but seemed like a cross! Who cares though
  21. Semenyo incredibly talented at getting into promising positions and wasting them
  22. glad not just me then haha. watching the red box will prob be more fun anyway
  23. the game is on but is is overlain by the loading screen,
  24. it has just loaded on my sky box 403. but sort of crashing. all on the piss
