  1. It's a couple of weeks earlier than normal due to the world cup break I think.
  2. 95% of the people that would use it at your end will be from Portishead but Pill is different, we will have people driving from Portbury, Abbotts Liegh, and even Easton in Gordano into the village looking to park, if they charge people to park in the station car park they will either not bother using the train, or will look to park in all the small residential streets that surround the station, the train does not stop at a convenient place for leasure or shopping in Bristol so I see it being practically empty outside of normal commuting times, we will see what happens if it goes ahead as I have said personally I think it will turn out to be a white elephant just like HS2 but we will just have to wait and see. It could become a tourist attraction I suppose with the scenic views of the gorge and suspension bridge.
  3. So it costs £5 return on the train plus let's say £3 to park in Portishead or Pill per day, or £5 on the bus which takes you to several very convenient stops for work and shopping or pleasure trips such as drinking and eating around the waterfront that the train won't get anywhere near, ooh! let me think what shall I do? and don't forget that the bus is free during the day for anyone over 65, to me this will be a mini white Elephant I mean there is not even going to be a place for us to get off to watch city, I'm sorry but I'm struggling to see where the customers are going to come from to justify the expence and I haven't even mentioned WFH.
  4. From a purely selfish point of view I really hope there will be residents only parking in the streets close to the station in Pill as I live less than 50 metres from where it is going to be sighted, and my street is hard enought to park in at the best of times, they could start with making the car park free at the station but I can't see that happening.
  5. Exactly, I wouldn't be surprised if since the last costing it has risen at least another 15 million, the way inflation is going at the moment this project will be like a dog chasing it's tail. I personally think the project won't go ahead as the demand for it's services will have surely gone down since the WFH phenomenon and that most of the people that would use it would be people working in offices around temple meads and surrounding areas, maybe if it stopped in the centre of Bristol, as it is shoppers won't use it as it does not stop anywhere convenient.
  6. Just imagine the chaos if thousands turn up that then can't get tickets. I remember years ago when Cardiff was pay on the day and about 35,000 turned up, thousands ended up being locked out it was lucky nobody got injured.
  7. Bet you enjoyed that I know I certainly did.
  8. to receive an automatic ban from this season, hopefully this will curb this growing trend. flares or any other pyrotechnic users also face an automatic ban as well.
  9. Did anybody else do that? as I'm sure I was in the open end when a city player actually got down on the floor paused and pushed it over the line with his head don't think it was Chris Garland.
  10. Physical wallet? at 62 if you dropped it you would probably put your back out picking it back up again,.
  11. Economy of effort, the nicest way to describe a lazy bas**rd I have ever heard .
  12. Three problems one I don't have a mobile phone and two they used to supply a fixture list with your season card oh! and three I don't have a wallet but I realise I'm probably in a minority of one not having a mobile .
  13. It would have been better if the package had been simpler and they had included a fixture list and wallet like they used to which to most would have been more useful than a keyring but I suppose it's nice they went to the effort to make it a bit more memorable. I will just have to recycle one of my old ones.
  14. Surely finances affect the other clubs just as much ( well the ones without parachute payments).
  15. England had a tropical climate once, we have also been covered in thick ice, that tells me the climate ebbs and flows over the centuries it could just be that at the moment we are going through an upcycle and in a thousand years time we will again (well not me) be freezing our ass*s off.
  16. A rather annoying millennial phrase only used by people under about 30 ish. I suppose when I used the term groovy baby it pissed of my parents as well.
