  1. Against 3 League one sides but still a step in the right direction.
  2. Bemmy cc and next door was £10 but for Elton John the greedy Ba***rds had put it up to £15 so expect the worse for this season as they will blame Brexit, the Ukraine war the energy crisis etc for having to increase the price.
  3. just looked at the forecast for Tuesday for Bristol 35 degrees, surely they won't play in that.
  4. That's a rather pessimistic outlook if you don't mind me saying.
  5. I'm not sure the actual footprint of the Dolman is that much smaller than the Lansdown, I was thinking more higher, somebody may be able to tell us but having been in both stands they don't seem that different width wise.
  6. Which with hindsight makes our inability to get the Ashton Vale project off the ground very disappointing. I know a lot of people were glad that we did not move but me? I think it was a lost opportunity to move the club forward.
  7. But big attendances do seem to equal success, all the really successful clubs have large attendances of well over 40,000 Liverpool, Spurs, Man city, and in Spain, Real Madrid Barcelona etc, yes those clubs you named have been in the premier league but apart from Brentford did not sustain it which is why we would likely always be a middling club in the top flight at best, Leicester city were a once in a lifetime occurrence Large crowds are in some ways not as important as they once were yet still the BIG clubs with their big attendances tend to dominate.
  8. The attendance against Chelsea in the FA up being a prime example, the crowd actually laughed when the official attendance was given out it was quickly revised up but even then was still miles under the true figure.
  9. I did say mid twenties was still pretty good, and yes our fickle lot did desert us in the 80s, and yes you are right Ashton gate was a pretty depressing place with 3 or 4 thousand in it and that was in the days it held 40,000, I like to think we made almost as much noise as some of the crowds we have had lately though to be fair we have not had an awful lot to get exited about for a while.
  10. But during the 80s and 90s their average was around the low to mid twenties with lows of around 16,500 in a ouple of seasons so that is a hell of a lot lower than say the last 10 or so years. I would say that is quite a wild fluctuation and that when they are sh*t so are their attendances though mid twenties is still pretty ok.
  11. Would it not be possible to build a mirror image of the Lansdown where the Dolman stand is now that would boost capacity to around 33,000 plus a bit of development on the Atyeo sides we could be looking at 35,000 if we ever needed to if we ever went up and looked like sustaining it by using the TV money.
  12. Sky sports football ch 403 are showing our game against Hull if anyone can bear to watch at 6pm on Saturday along with some of the other Championship finals that day starting at 3pm.
  13. Have you noticed though that the teams with the larger attendances seem to be the ones that dominate so there is that for it, though unfortunately I could never see us being in that position to need a 50+ thousand seater stadium.
  14. The sad thing is you could never make something like this today.
  15. A few times we have flirted with the top 6 and occasionally have been a bit too near the bottom for comfort but without counting them I would have said a hell of a lot of our games have meant little in the grand scheme of things, it just seemed a strange thing for Robbo to have said, a lot of our games I will go to watch even if a win means we move only 1 place up the table. as I love watching us even if the game is a bit of a dead rubber.
  16. We have spent most of the last 7 years in and around mid table, a hell of a lot of our matches therefore had nothing on them apart from watching the club we love or just for the sheer spectacle of competition, are you then saying you have had no interest in these matches? an awful lot of our games have had nothing on them so I would suggest City are not the best club for you to be a supporter of in that case.
  17. If I was a Cheltenham town supporter and saw that I would be quite confident about the upcoming season, thought they looked quite a tidy side.
  18. Problem is by the time they ALL get their act together it will have gone up at least another £10 million with inflation currently running at 10% a year on 150 odd million it quickly adds up.
  19. I suppose a way round that would be to give supporters a years notice, I was kicked out of my seat in the Atyeo when it became a family section the club did not seem to mind doing that, would a safe standing East end boost capacity in the event we actually got promoted?
  20. And also one of the biggest lies in the world along with I wont c*m in your Mouth .
  21. Is it the first time? I thought I was invincible after going more than two years without catching it, when it eventually got me I was expecting the worse at my age 66 and supposedly in the more at risk of becoming really ill category, but you know what I've had worse colds, the way this damn virus attacks people in so many different ways is very strange it's like Russian Roulette, hopefully you will be like me and get over it quickly, it took me 6 days before I tested negative but I know other people who are still feeling the effects months after, hopefully you will not suffer any long term damage to your health.
  22. Don't know how to do that thanks.
  23. All Premier league and Championship clubs have been given the green light to introduce safe standing from the start of the season, about time in my opinion should help improve the atmosphere at clubs.
  24. Just seen that Joey Barton has signed a three year extension to his contract, that's a bit cocky considering he may be found guilty and end up going inside shades of Katy Price.
  25. Oh! I agree totally, it would be interesting to carry out an experiment I have often said the same about bus fares 30 people paying £2 is better than an near empty bus where the fare is a fiver.
