  8. Fantastic post mate. So good for you to have such positive memories.
  9. Daddy where did I come from? … The Nice
  10. As Jean-Paul Sartre said: “In football everything is complicated by the presence of the opposite team.”
  11. We were certainly better in the first half (and Hull were worse) but the second half was always going to be a different kettle of worms (or can of fish) and I thought we were decent.
  12. It was a Hull break. A Hull player took out Atkinson just outside their penalty area and then rolled around for four minutes, presumably to avoid a card. The ref of course bought it.
  13. I didn’t see us sit back on a 1-0 lead. Yes, we had to defend at times, but we showed attacking intent throughout, and especially once Conway was on. ‘Mental weakness’? What’s that all about? We lost to a penalty which shouldn’t have been given and a deflection to a shot that was going nowhere. You do realise that there are two teams in a football match and the away team often has to defend for long periods? Also we were having to deal with criminally bad refereeing and appalling behaviour from the Hull players. And you put it down to our ‘mental weakness’???
  14. I thought we played well throughout, and deserved to win. Disgraceful exhibition by several of the Hull players.
  15. Are Hull in a mess then? Ambitious owner and several interesting and unexpected signings, which could go one of two ways…
  16. Telephone and Rubber Band … Penguin Cafe Orchestra
  17. 45 seconds to go and the French keeper doesn’t go up for a free kick? Really? And two minutes before that a free kick ten yards outside the area sails harmlessly over the bar. Very poor from France.
  18. Is it just me, or is this game very poor quality? Some good individual skills, but a lot of naïveté in terms of team play. Statuesque defences, space not being occupied, poor or non-existent movement. Another wild shot goes over the bar…
