  1. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors? But ultimately forgiveness has a part to play. It is quite possible for, particularly young, people to learn from their mistakes and to change as a result. Almost everyone deserves a second chance, and it appears that the woman involved had given him that. Forgiveness is a much more powerful quality than retribution.
  2. I lost count of the number of foul throws in the Spain/Sweden women’s’ match today.
  3. How can VAR possibly justify that not being a clear and obvious error??
  4. Ingrid DuMosch??? You need to check your Google results more carefully! ?
  5. What makes you think you’re right about everything to do with Lansdown? Are you possibly related?
  6. Don’t forget that it was Cotterill that said Ayling couldn’t play fullback.
  7. Agreed. Jim Brennan was a great lad though. Although he played for Canada he was really Irish and he came to a St Patrick’s Night gig my band played at the Bristol Bridge Inn. He certainly knew his Irish music…
  8. Pile of novels by Christopher Brookmyre. Fantastic stuff.
  9. My son has the middle name Stanley in honour of Happiness Stan…
  10. To be fair, we’d already had at least three rounds of clapping for him before the match kicked off. I think the 9th minute was one too many and people were just clapped out by then.
  11. If squad numbers were unimportant, players might as well be numbered alphabetically from 1 to 30 or whatever. But they’re not, so you’d struggle to convince me that players numbered, for instance, 1, 5 or 9 were likely to be less likely to start than players numbered 12, 16 and 20. Of course some players have their number quirks, and we have a few of those, but generally speaking numbers 1 to 11 can usually be read as a guide to intended first choice in an ideal world where everyone is fit and in form.
  12. The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill - The Beatles
  13. Did he really get a touch for the fourth goal at Mansfield though? That’s what I’ve always wanted to know…
  14. Not the best viewer experience, one corner completely out of view thanks to the railings of the gantry, and the Pompey goal in total shade so can’t see any City attacking action within the six yard box. ?
  15. Good player for us. Not sure why you’re taking the p***.
  16. The likelihood that everyone will rate every member of a squad is pretty low, I would have thought, but in my experience when a player has been largely unrated by a good number of fans it’s usually because they’ve - ahem - not been very good. For the record, I want City to succeed and I want every player to play their part, but the fact is that, as I think everyone can see (including yourself, I would expect), Cornick has been hugely disappointing so far. No one is saying he doesn’t have any technique or spirit, but so far he has largely failed to deliver. I hope he finds his mojo and transforms into the player we need, and I admire your optimism, but at some point he has to start delivering at the level we need and so far it simply ain’t happening.
  17. Agreed. My father in law is a Baggie, and he has hated the past couple of seasons, and seems to feel more depressed than ever about their prospects this season.
  18. To this day, our then roadie claims to have instantly spotted his star potential ?
  19. A 16 year old Roland Orzabal (later of Tears For Fears) supported my band once at a pub which is now The Cork in Westgate Buildings in Bath. Does that count?
  20. I’ll never forget his goals against Liverpool in 1977. Cometh the hour…
