Awful news. Rest in peace Sir Bobby.

I thought LJ received some awful Qs.
I agree Dave - a condescending tone and about 3 questions on perceived lack of board support is a recipe for a poor interview.

Not a big surprise from what we've seen recently. That final press conference was damning.

Just seen that Ipswich are 13/1 to be relegated. So apparently less likely to go down than us (6/1), Swansea (7/1), Coventry (10/1), West Brom (10/1), Millwall (11/1)….
Surely worth a cheeky fiver considering they didn’t even win the league!

It's just a pre season game.
By definition it’s a competitive fixture as you can’t play trialists. Your players have to be professionally registered.
So while it’s clearly not a trophy of any great magnitude, to call it pre-season is being disingenuous.

As great of a job that O'Neil did, and I think it is ******* bonkers and unfair to sack him, you would imagine someone like Iraiola has a 'higher ceiling' in how he could progress the club. He's played consistently at the top level and been managed by some exceptional managers. Of course there are no guarantees, and just having played under some good managers is not enough, but it's presumably a calculated gamble.
I'm gutted for O'Neil though and he has been very hard done by. Hopefully he can find a good job soon.

I can't imagine we would be in a better position than we are now if we would have appointed Gerrard. I was very unimpressed with his work at Villa - the improvement under Emery is unbelievable.

Not sure who goes there next. They should really pick an up and coming manager for another dynasty but is there anyone? Potter?
What even suggests it's possible for a top-level (or indeed any) club to form a 'dynasty' in today's age? I don't think ANYBODY could go there and do such a thing.

Solskjaer at the moment reminds me a bit of Holden - all the respect in the world for a thoroughly decent human being, but out of their depth in their position as manager.

Does anyone have a link of the times for tomorrow’s game? The only times I can find are years old so I’m not sure if they’re still in date. Thanks guys!

Classic OTIB - a thread detailing a really interesting fan forum that only a few lucky fans could attend, and the entire thread is full of debate about cider costs at the ground never change folks!

Using your logic, how many pubs get 5 or 6 thousand customers (conservative estimate taking rugby into account) every couple of weeks?
Not really an accurate comparison - people go to the pub to drink (and sometimes watch football), whilst people go to the stadium to watch football (and sometimes drink).

And just a general forum moan, what is it with all the ******* badges and awards now, there’s me thinking this might be a reaction or a comment to debate, but no it’s a some badge with a shitty title, I’m a grown adult, not a 5 year old going to the dentist.
Congratulations on reaching the rank of 'Mentor'

Hi Bob. Thought we were past this. Flint has been brilliant in the past run of 15 games. Superb. Won us another game this evening with not only a brilliant finish, but a stupendously brave block earlier in the half with his head. No problems with admitting it. Are you ignoring my part of the post where I also pick out Baker? Talk about a personal agenda against me.
Many don't like you on here, I'm not one of those. I like debates. I like that you (sometimes) have intelligent discussions. So I pose you a question, originally in my post which you quoted, I hope you can answer without crying like a 13 year old child. Why was Aden Flint 10 yards behind our nearest defender? Is that a harsh critique of the situation? I ask you watch the goal back before replying. It's not unfair at all. I dug out his partner too, for what was an even bigger mistake. Sure you'll understand when you look back at it that they both made monumental errors.
It's almost like some on here are gagging to criticise other posters.. Not everything is dramatic or driven from agendas towards players, despite what some choose to believe.

I actually think we didn’t need the sub. It’s thrown our shape even more, and we’re now just going long to Djuric which isn’t our strength
Agreed - as Johnson said following the Preston game, the players don't seem to have a game plan that isn't going long.
Red! Wow, big call.

What a horrific half so far. Needs a change.

Nice to see two ex-Robins captaining a Premier League game - Kelly for Bournemouth playing against Brownhill for Burnley - surely the first time that has happened?
