Next season is make or break for Nige. I think we'll keep improving but if we're bottom half again then probably a change will be made at some point, so I wouldn't expect a new contract yet (and don't think Nige is bothered anyway)

What do you mean by make or break exactly? Make the play offs, make the automatic promotion spots, make the top 10, make the top of half?

As long as we don’t regress and financially we are improving, I see Nige here until he decides he wishes to leave. The side and ethic he has been / continues to create is one I can finally get behind. I feel real pride in the team when they leave the pitch. The players are putting a shift in week in week out, they seem an honest bunch too - no egos. Appreciate this should be the baseline but it’s been missing for sometime. Players are throwing themselves to get in the way of shots & crosses in numbers. They appear to be proud to wear the shirt - of course we want to see quality but I love the players showing fight and determination.

Already agreed he won’t be getting an extension and we will receive some compensation.

Pearson won’t be getting an extension? Compensation for what - somebody else wants him?

  4. Love the newly found in game intelligence. The dribbling round the corner flag to waste some more seconds, Nakhi purposely putting the ball outside the D so he’ll be pulled up to waste more seconds. Cornick holding the thrown in to then hand it to Sykes to take.

Joe Williams very good today. Breaking up play superbly well.

Nakhi giving us a little bit more than Bell too.

    good win.

We’ve drawn 1-1 away to Sunderland with 2 shots on target. 15th in the league. Be positive but this is nauseating.

Our young side, in front of 40k fans have come back from a goal down against a team who are 5th in the Championship, who were / are 4th in the form table. Absolutely there’s positivity. Long may it continue - these Saturdays are to be enjoyed. As at some point, possibly soon, we won’t win for a few games.

My lad is up there and said similar. Chatting to a few Sunderland on the way back to Newcastle they said "in the top three teams, footballing wise, to come here". However he has been taught well enough to not then ask "so lads, do you prefer us or Da Gas?"...................

Sunderland commentary team was positive about us and in particular how we moved the ball out through the back line. I think they’d made a comment not many teams manage to do that at the SOL.

Ps cough Mehmeti cough Ryan cough Kent cough

    They even look similar

Hopefully this lad has a better attitude and learns to pass at the right moment

What a strange comment. In flashes he’s lit up the last two games. I can’t remember Ryan Kent giving us that? If he had already learned to pass at the right time and consistently make the correct decisions, he’d of leapfrogged us for another club. Worked to be done, yes. Ryan Kent, I don’t think so.

(Feels weird knocking Kent as he’s carved out a decent career by the looks of it).
