Erm Derby, Blackburn, Luton and Coventry seem to be doing OK?

Perhaps they have a better coach?

Blackburn are doing very well without any parachute payments, but it wouldn't be a matchday thread without many people trotting out.

    1. IT'S ALL THE REF'S FAULT!

    2. BUT PARACHUTE PAYMENTS,  IT'S NOT FAIR!

    Every. Single. Match.

Watching Leeds v Arsenal. Interesting to see that Leeds aren't being treated as a big team any more. All decisions going Arsenal's way. Mind you with Andre Marriner on the pitch and Michael Oliver in the VAR box anything is possible.

I seriously worry whether it's worth getting to the "promised land"?

Heading rapidly towards league 1 = Premier League? - never fancied her anyway!

I think that's his age/maturity and probably also remember what it was like to win it first time himself.   He's certainly moved on from the days when Nico won it.

The only good thing to come out of this farce is how dignified Hamilton has been. He's handled a situation where 99% of us would have exploded with rage, really well. He's actually come across as the real winner in all of this when you consider how RB were wildly celebrating what the rest of the world could see was a hollow victory.

Imagine what the Mercedes lawyers will do with that? I see litigation after litigation here.

Maybe as @TonyTonyTony suggested 'dual' World Champions?

I too can see that happening.

I want to see them both back at the track, 10 laps on supersofts, no limit on DRS. Winner takes all.

Like you say its not Max/Red Bulls fault as such although would Masi have let them race if Horner wasn't in his ear constantly?

Lewis may well have retired if he won yesterday

It absolutely is RB's fault, they requested the situation over the team radio.

I'm not sure you can take the title back off Max, he's not at fault its basically the FIA that needs their teeth pulled, they ruined what would have been a great race by fixing it for Redbull.  Massi in my opinion needs to be removed for next season and Mercedes compensated.

Why not? I agree it's not his fault, but they arbitrarily changed the rules on the last lap at the request of the team he drives for. They essentially took away Hamilton's title when he is not at fault. Why can you take the title from one but not the other?

A neighbour of mine is a die hard Gas Head  and is really looking forward to this. He is not a popular man at the Mem and apparently quite a few are hoping he will be sent down. The Gas get rid without a payoff and they can start looking for a new manager asap.

Monopolising football in the City can only be good for us IMO. It's probably a necessary step in us hopefully realising our potential at some point. Granted, there'd be a bit more drama involved if we and Rovers were closer in competition, but it's really not worth it when we'd effectively be sacrificing our advantages over them.

Saying that we want to be in the same division as them for the excitement is arguably the biggest possible compliment to Rovers. We're better off 2 leagues above them with bigger fish to fry.

Out of interest, how would you feel if both teams were in the Prem?

Don't really understand how or why Lewis' greatness is still called into question. Comparing era's is of course hard. But especially if he wins an 8th title this season he surely has to go down as the greatest ever.

He's not dull like Schumacher was either, he's a proper box office racing driver.

Yes, whatever you think of his opinions on certain things he is a phenomenal driver and one of the all time greats.

If only there was some obvious reason why some people don't like him ?

Really? Don't see any confrontation! Are refs really that aloof that you are not allowed to talk to them?

Of course you can talk to them! Provided it's done in a calm manner, like in this video. I can't see anything wrong there at all.

If that is your idea of confrontation then you've lived a very sheltered life. Have you ever watched a football match before?

If it was me I'd take the 25% tax free lump sum and invest it somewhere else (like a stocks/shares ISA or even property) to spread the risk.

Put the rest into drawdown. Annuity rates are terrible.

Retire as soon as you can, plenty of odd jobs going around if you want a few hours casual to top up your weekly cash.

    Just imo.
