Can’t appear in court, but his actions were contributory, maybe more than the organiser, just like a murderer who then tops himself, is still a murderer.

But you seem to be suggesting the court find him guilty too. How can they prosecute and sentence a dead guy?

Amazing that the poster investigates murder!! ?

Doesn’t the pilot without the correct licences have some responsibility here.  Henderson might have asked him to do it, he didn’t have to.  Dual culpability surely?

Yeah, but he’s dead so can’t appear in court!

The part that everyone seems to be missing

The Prem / EFL etc say they are constantly getting requests from charities for changes on a match day and they simply can't say yes to one and not another so they simply say no to all requests

Nothing anymore sinister than that to it

And that’s fine. To start no to all requests. So they made a rod for their own back last year then.

I'd argue that Baker had a fairly reasonable game prior to his clanger and even there, is not the only place blame must be apportioned.

Maybe it's because I was a defender, but I always look at the bigger picture than who had the last touch.

In Baker's defence you could ask: Why was our box so under siege? Why couldn't we make the ball stick upfield? Where was our midfield? Why couldn't we even carry the ball out of our half? Why were our subs not bringing the "fresh legs" to do this?  Why were Forest players able to play the ball at will around our final third?

The blame for all that lies with multiple players and, indeed, the coaching staff.

Let opponents swarm all over you and you're going to make a fatal mistake sooner or later. When the penalty went in, my matchday companion said: "They are going to go on to win this." We weren't surprised. For the last 15 minutes we'd look like a schoolboy team taking on the PE teachers.

The blame for that involves more than one or two players.

None of which excuses lunging into a tackle in the penalty box in injury time. I agree, plenty more wrong with the goal than just that (how does JD let his man outside him so easily), but still no excuse for baker

If we include them I'd say on balance NB is of mixed use, but Andi is (on average) a success, although not always given his most effective role.

As others have said, we have to factor in the significant financial constraints Pearson faced. We didn't have resources perhaps to do much else. Better players might have required fees beyond that which were available. Those two didn't.

Although the Leicester old boys' club has been a decidedly mixed blessing, the signing of Tanner - a young, developing player - shows I hope the route we'll go down in future.

All said and done, I have more confidence in Pearson to bring in decent acquisitions than I did in Johnson or Holden.

They are both to be considered as Pearson’s signings in my opinion.
Based on what they’ve done this season, baker hasn’t done anything of any use and essentially lost us the game last night with his rash challenge and Weimann has had 2 decent games.

I didn't because the players I've mentioned were new to the club. Those two, simply a deadline expired and well before the playing season started we decided to re-sign. They never really left, apart from on paper.

But they are still Pearson’s recruitment.
If he didn’t want them he wouldn’t have resigned them and could have used their significant salaries elsewhere

Tanner, Atkinson and James - successes. Simpson - failure. King - mixed.

We await further developments I'd say.

The fact we lured a good young player like L2 and he was able to cut it instantly at this level is a promising sign.

Why don’t people add baker and Weimann. They’d both expired their contracts and Pearson brought them back. They are his signings.

What’s he supposed to do if there’s a lack of options otherwise? Whether it’s the best way to do it idk but he’s stuck with these players run so he’s got to get them to buck their ideas up somehow.

He did exactly this when he first returned to Leicester. He came in during November of 11/12 and for the rest of that season he criticised players in a much similar fashion, he fell out quite acrmioniously (head butting Matt Mills) with a couple of them.

Difference is he was able to spend 3m in January on Drinkwater, Morgan and Marshall. Then about another 10-12m the following season plus just paying off or taking a big financial hit on players he didn’t want around. Of course that’s back in 2012 so bigger fees than they sound now, before FFP, with his recruitment setup and with an owner willing to spend. So whether he can achieve the transformation need given the constraints he has now is up for debate.

“What’s he supposed to do if there’s a lack of options”

6 of the starting 10 outfield were his own signings. Maybe give them the confidence to keep the ball in the opposition territory late in the game rather than concede territory and possession for the last 20. Instead of forever crying after every loss that “some of these players don’t want to be here”. Well, either set them up to succeed better or see through on the empty threats and drop them completely.

There seems to be this narrative that Pearson can’t do anything about it because he inherited shit. Well, he’s signed 7 now. If he is any good as a coach then he should have coached improvement into the ones already here by now. Unless they are totally hopeless, in which case how did they ever get a pro-deal in the first place.

Nothing Pearson has done has changed our fortunes yet and I can’t see any coaching improvement in any of the players. We’re slightly better because he’s signed James, who is good for this level. Otherwise, he’s changed nothing.
under Johnson and even Holden temporarily, we had a good away record and a crap home record. Pearson has carried on the good away record but has actually worsened the home record.

He needs to stop moaning that “some won’t be here going forward” and start actually motivating and coaching improvement. Otherwise, what is he?

Simple fact the players that he's inherited just ain't good enough and he's limited to what he can do.. Every player signed before Pearson needs to go and I'm not joking it needs a massive change because I think several players think it's an easy life at this football club.

Look at the quality Pearson has brought in just think what he can do if he had money.

    He’s signed 7 now.
Tanner Atkinson Baker James Weimann all started and finished last night. Add Scott, whom he’s chosen to promote and he started 6 outfield players last night who were his own players.
King and Simpson are his other signings, both who contribute little.
Who exactly is Pearson calling out? I don’t get it. Every defeat he says something like “some of these players don’t want to be here and they won’t be”. These are empty threats after every defeat as he never seems to drop someone from the squad completely. Who is he calling? Based on last night, that could well have been Weimann and Baker - both of which are his own signings. It could have been Atkinson for being 8 yards deeper than the rest of the defence on the winning goal. His signing.
I’m just bored of these empty threats after every loss.
Pearson needs to manage these players better and get some cahunas into them to stop folding in injury time. Stop saying “they won’t be here going forward” and do something about it.

  10. Getting boring now isn’t it.
how many times have we heard this from Pearson. But nothing changes.
who is he taking about this time. Bentley? Baker? Martin? Weimann? Dasilva?
Will he be dropping any of these from the squad completely? It’s all empty threats and is boring me.
Pearson needs to stop saying shit like this and actually start doing something about it. Like giving his players the confidence to be able to keep hold of the football and not concede oodles of possession so late in games.

The other tough one is extending contracts.  In many respects, Nige has worked a bit of a miracle getting Weimann and Baker to sign deals on significantly lower wages than they were on.

    But they were OOC.

How do you get Tomas Kalas to extend his current deal, say it’s £25k p.w, for another 2 years.  You don’t want him going into his final year, but you can’t really afford to give him the same money either.  Ideally you want to tie him down now, but he’s not gonna take a wage drop for a contract he has 22 months left on.

Its these types of situation that are gonna be tough to accept if we have to sell him.

This is when we will see the first signs of how strong the Pearson / Lansdown relationship is.
All nicey nicey so far but let’s see what Pearson’s reaction is once we get a pressure situation.
say we get a £10m bid for Scott. Lansdown says we have to accept the bid to help the finances. Pearson says, well if you want us to build for promotion we have to keep our best players.
say Pearson wants to extend Kalas contract at the end of this season but Lansdown says we can’t afford his demands. Does Pearson say - but if you want to build for promotion I need to keep my best players.

At some point there is going to be a situation where Steve says we go one way and nige says it lacks ambition. What happens then. Does nige walk? Does Steve sack? (we know he doesn’t like conflict with his managers).

Johnson played ball with this. He saw his best players sold every season and was expected to rebuild and improve. Will nige be quite so complaint when that time comes.

  12. People think that extending the ‘singing section’ will improve it. Rubbish. There’s 1200 people in there already and only about 50 actually try to sing most of the game. Where are these extra people who want to sing going to come from?
It’s been getting worse and worse for years. The only thing that will improve the atmosphere would be for more people to actually join in. Not really rocket science. More singers, louder it gets. Right now there’s about 50 to 100 people making an effort. Occasionally it catches on and gets a bit louder but mostly it’s just 50 lads.

doesn’t help that a lot of people piss off to the bar for most of the game. Maybe the club shouldn’t show the game on the screens in the concourse as it just encourages people to stand around with a beer and watch it on tv.

To be perfectly honest , other than the one whose name we no longer speak of, I really struggle to name more than 3 or 4 City players and I certainly wouldn't recognise them.

Lee Brown has been a solid, decent player for us who chose to stay with us when we dropped out of the league and also scored a last minute winner to get us promotion which led to one of the best night's drinking I've ever had!

I was at the player of the year awards last night (which you will be delighted to hear was held in a big tent) and it was clear that he has a real affection for the club, football needs more players like him who 'get' what being a fan is.

How come he’s leaving now then, if he such a true blue?
