  1. They are very poor A number of times sykes or twine have picked up a second ball cleared by a centre back in lots of space. Don't know where their centre midfielders are Important to keep our concentration now. 4 clean sheets in a row would be good.lets not gift them a goal
  2. Just had a shot from outside the box...don't see them much anymore. Then sykes burst through and should have scored
  3. Haha. Always fills up later on an evening game. Lansdown is worse but then South stand is where the STs are. Club must have the stats on how many sts aren't coming. Above a certain amount and it is a worry about renewal. Blackburn were starting to control it, good to score wheb we did. Smodiczs looks good. Enjoyed a near perfect unison of 'go on...yeeessss!' with those around me. Very satisfying.
  4. Just had the pre-match announcer yell at the top of his voice DONT FORGET TO RENEW YOUR SEASON TICKEY AT BCFC.CO.UK...BRISTOL CITY V BLACKBURN IS NEXT I know he's just doing it because he's been told do. But has anyone actually ever forgotten? At least its not Downsy tonight
  5. Not worth getting worked up over either way. It's performative PR. The clubs social media admin has not come to the considered position that there are many paths up the mountain, nor are they making any radical political statement, nor does it have anything to do with the demographics of our fan base. It's just performative PR. Having said that - I can't imagine it's persuading many to renew their season tickets though. Dont imagine many are thinking 'well I'm fed up of Lansdown, Tinnion and Manning, but they wished me happy Eid. So take my money!' Took a break from social media a few weeks ago (does otib count?!) - feel much better in all sorts of ways! Heartily recommend.
  6. Wasn't expecting a shout for John Akinde, but fair enough
  7. Reckon the gaffer had a word at half time? "Shoot on sight lasses, they've got a woman in goal!"
  8. I'm not sure the next 6 will have much of a bearing on next season. We're led to believe that the club has its long term plans now, players of a certain profile on the radar etc. Continuity from top to bottom, building on what we have rather than ripping it up every time a new manager comes in. Will be interesting to see then what happens this summer. If the higher-ups are true to their word (!), I'd have thought we ought to expect to see 2-3 in in each window from now on? Perhaps 4-5 if you included one or two for the development squads. Yet I wouldn't be surprised to see all the out-of-contract senior pros are to be shipped out and replaced by league one up-and-comers. It was said, rightly or wrongly, a few months ago that Williams was playing for a contract. We felt this season we were finally starting to see why we signed him. James likewise has proved his value to the team. King hasn't had many minutes but I'd be disappointed to see all three of them go. That wouldn't feel like continuity much to me and we would miss the experience. In short - the next 6 games will be enjoyable if we continue with the intent we showed over Easter. And it will make us all feel a bit better if we can pick up a few wins, or at least avoid any dreadful games where we don't shoot for an hour (if only not to have to hear a Manning interview afterwards). But I'm not sure it will affect next season much - BT will have it all planned out (for better or for worse...)
  9. Has 2 wins in 2 changed anyone's mind and led to early renewal? What are you hoping to see in the last 6 games? (Not trying to start a fight - genuinely interested! I'm not an ST holder, don't live in Bristol so try and go away more than home. Respect the decision to delay renewal to make a point - a point that needs making!)
  10. I think this bold bit hits the nail on the head. How different the whole atmosphere would be if Nige had seen us safely to 9th-12th, he'd been properly thanked and given a good send off at the end of the season, and then a new coach brought in for the next "phase of the project". Lots of justifications for this. Some might still have disagreed and thought that Pearson deserved an extension, but it the atmosphere wouldn't have been nearly as toxic. Regards to your last point in italics, that too is the club's doing. LM was brought in not to tear it all apart and rebuild, nor to learn on the job as a coach with good potential but little experience. He was explicitly, very clearly brought in at expense of perhaps the most experienced and respected manager we've ever had to get more out of this current group this season. Most of the frustration on the forums as I see it is directed at the owners for this reason, and for me at least I don't feel confident in our decision making, our recruitment, the general running of the club. Manning really hasn't helped himself in my book with his coaching newspeak, his general demeanour, and several very poor performances that seemed like a backwards step. He has work to do to convince me that he's the right man to succeed Pearson next season. He's already proved not to be the right man to get more out of the current squad this season which is what he was brought in for. Some performances have been better, many have been worse. I've seen a lot of arguing over different stats and what they prove/disprove - PPG at the moment at least seems to me to suggest we're pretty much where we might have expected to be anyway. I'm not anti LM forever - I don't think anyone is really despite what many are saying. I'm seeing a lot of "credit where credit is due" - LM does deserve credit for this weekend - but it's too early to say we've turned a corner, or even that he is delivering on what he was brought in to do as we've been here before during his tenure. Again to his credit he seems to realise this. Here's hoping for a few more good performances towards the end of the season to generate some positivity about next season. I want to see a few more good performances in the final few games to give me some belief that he can be a successful manager for us. I want a bit of hope to at least dream! I don't want next season to be like this - never felt as emotionless after a win as I did against Swansea a few weeks ago. That's not what supporting a football team should be like.
  11. The three who got injured seem to know what it takes to play for this club
  12. good effort from the lads. did themselves proud
  13. I'd support rolling subs at youth level (my expert opinion after watching one game)
  14. Not sure we have the legs to do anything else really. Unless you really get in their faces they're just going to pass round us. We've been doing so much running without the ball and they have brought fresh legs on second half
  15. damn. come on lads lets go for it
  16. definitely should have been!
  17. co comm just said "City" meaning us - and then caught himself. He's being won round...
  18. brilliant tackle from hewlett. had a few forward there, could have made a better decision. still very much in the game and look like we might get a chance or two
  19. ooooooooooooooffffffffffff nearly. Impressed with our no 10, looks good on the ball.
  20. talk about not being able to break down a team sitting deep...!
  21. aaaahhhh great chance. return ball just not quite right. sticking to our task well
  22. Yeboah bullying them a bit. "Tenacious". Maybe the men's football is helping
  23. It was. For him to break his fast for ramadan. Not sure anything has been codified in the rules yet - it's going to need to be. Imagine a team protecting a lead, and sundown happens to be in the third minute of stoppage time...
