  1. Give yourself an hour……also as long as you don’t arrive en mass you should be fine to arrive at central and winder off to a pub. Just don’t do what swansea fans do, ie start singing and acting like dicks……you’ll be fine.
  2. I don’t know how anyone could sing a song about 100 odd kids dying…..properly low. I’m not sure if it’s true but I heard when this first occurred even the Bristol police were dismayed by it and turned a blind eye to what followed…..I know ccfc are no angels and sang songs like gas a jack at swansea after an ex players gassed himself in his car, but kids? Come on….
  3. Looking forward to this one….looking like we can compete this year after a few woeful years.
  4. They always feel like they have something to prove…..been trying for decades but never quite made it if you know what I mean. like a little brother jumping up and down saying look at me, look at me…..take their police protection away and they melt away.
  5. Just to make things even worse the Welsh Government has decided to “go for” holiday home owners/businesses in the areas mentioned. They resent the fact that most are owned by English people( in north wales) or outsiders (usually Cardiff people down south) so have trebled council tax or business rates unless you can let out for 6 months, and let’s face it no one goes to west wales or north wales coast outside of a few months of summer. So basically, they are selling up, locals can’t really afford these houses so that’s not solving the local affordable housing issues caused by the failing WAG to build any for years. What it will mean is less people staying or going to local eateries or amenities so they will go bust, less work opportunities and the cycle of low income continues in these areas….and then there’s Drakefords genius idea of a tourist tax on people going to these areas…..
  6. Exactly this….it’s pretty grim, no money there like much of west wales. Cornwall has similar issues, people I know who live there say despite it being very scenic, many people have low incomes…..
  7. Yeah the Gower is nice, nice beaches etc but nothing much there….the city has been going down the tubes for years, the centre is a mess, huge smack problem for some reason, lack of big investment and all the money heads to the capital. Swansea councillors are notorious for wasting millions so maybe central government has had enough of them. There are decent people there but when it comes to the football they use that as a platform to take out general anger against anything cardiff, as no one pays them any attention most of the time. We always used to laugh how behind the times they were back in the casual days, years behind most and barely any competition when we went there throughout the 80’s culminating in their complete humiliation back in 91 after a fa cup game with two huge mobs of cardiff wandering around with free will, they even famously ran at each other at one point. that was probably the end for many, bans and jail taking over throughout the 90’s and 00’s with an fa cup game at Chelsea putting about 50 in jail in what many saw as a set up on king rd when the fans clashed. Again, another enough is enough moment. This sort of thing never happened with the jacks hence they still come bouncing around like billy big balls these days…..just 25 yrs too late!
  8. That’s because swansea is 20 years behind both cardiff and Bristol in so many ways….a bizarre place, stuck in the 80’s and infested with people with a massive chip on their shoulders. Oddly, they only ever appeared “mob handed” as they say, since the police can bubble them in safely, without it, you won’t see them. Just like Wales away games for the last 30 years, plenty of chances to settle any scores but no, they never showed up. Most of us of have moved on anyway, but they haven’t, which is why you will have issues with them….
  9. Be nice to see them go home to their rightful place in the leagues….absolutely destroyed them in midfield tonight, first time in two decades I can safely say this. After losing the last four, not winning at home in 10 yrs or beating them by 2 goals since 1965 would you believe we are more than happy tonight. Not seen the home crowd that noisy after Tanners goal, for years…..Swansea didn’t even sell out….says it all. Almost 29k, 2000 for segregation, live on sky, shocking weather, terrible form……happy today.
  10. Why’s that? Me and my friends are pretty handsome….?? it’s quite a strange rivalry, we always looked east and in the late 80’s you always seemed bigger and better. I guess that changed after 2003 and whilst living in Bristol I definitely noticed the animosity rise towards us and been there ever since……
  11. Cardiff not to popular with you lot are we?
  12. Yes he has picked up no end under our new manager. I really didn’t see that coming though…..played a new system with wing backs who’ve never played that role before. Philogene outstanding today as were a few others. Ting is, we do have some decent players but their confidence has been shot…..we beat Blackburn a few months ago, they looked terrible yet they are 3rd. There’s not much difference from top two to bottom two this season…..
  13. I’d park near the city centre and walk….Sophia gardens is on the edge of the city centre (nr cathedral rd area) nice safe pubs in pontcanna after game. 15 minute walk to ground. You’ll be fine these days
  14. I’m probably in that picture as I was standing there around the half way line…..fair play to him, I’d love to do something like that if I scored in a Derby. What season was that? I think we got our revenge for that over the next 10 yrs too. Was 6-1 a dream?
  15. Cheers, Pearson might well take you up at some point, I quite rate him and would have liked him here a few years ago post Warnock. there is no way he’d put up with Tans nonsense ( Warnock did but played him like a charm and Morison wouldn’t put up with it which is why he was gone after signing 17 players ffs) so it will never happen. We did have bellers here working miracles with our youth, another who won’t work directly under the Emporer….he will make a decent manager one day.
  16. From the Jam by any chance?
  17. Yeah….the ride up is good but it almost ends by the time you get home the day you get promoted. 2013 promotion in red was grim, 2018 with Warnock a bizarre miracle but we all new where it would end and we are still paying for his shocking signings and wasting of the pennies Tan gave him now….I hope you make it anyway, just so you can see it, feel it and crack on…..
  18. Ours is by far the worst billionaire….apparently he still likes to meddle in who we sign and in the days when he’d actually show up, he hasn’t for years, he’d go into the changing room and tell the team to shoot more at half time. he sacked malky mackay because he wouldn’t tolerate it and we’ve been in a downward spiral ever since….hiring jokers almost every time.
  19. Little bit harsh but almost true. Put it this way, I reckon at least half our support when we beat you 1 nil in the first playoff match in 2003 won’t go anymore. It’s way too sanitised for the old school, you step out of line you go to prison, end of. Now I’m not saying it’s all daisies and butterflies, a walk off the beaten track in grangetown and the locals will strip you bare anywhere never mind football fans. I don’t think you have the same lively support shall we call it that you once had. If you ever do make it up you will find aswell as getting treated like a small child by the media, your club will get further diluted and sanitised to maintain the look of money and wealth which is all the PL is about. I’d also suggest after seeing brightons accounts(400 million in debt to owner) that you need a miracle to even compete these days and a very wealthy owner……good luck, but for me and many others football died years ago. give me the fans, team and owner we had in 2003 anyday.
  20. Plenty did, lifelong mates fell out over it, I know quite a few. Some haven’t come back and the London supporters club which had fun for years with over 500 members split and folded. Like I said s wales is full of glory hunters so plenty to fill the seats left by regulars. unfortunately due to how poor we had been for the previous 50 years, older fans saw it as their only chance to see ccfc in the top flight in their lifetime so didn’t stop going. A shameful episode as you say…..
  21. And we got it back after the glory hunters abandoned ship and Tan realised he had lost the committed fans who’d been there through thick and thin…..look at that lot, all back watching Liverpool on sky again now.
  22. Yep there were plenty of gloryhunters to lap up a free red s are that night……I hear there were also plenty clogging up the toilets! typical tan though to hand them out on a freezing night eh? You won’t get a rise out of me btw, I gave up on modern football ages ago. It’s shit and I barely go anymore……
  23. It still amazes me with your owners wealth you haven’t made it. Areas like the West Country and south wales could really do with sustained success with a football club, we might after a decade or two rid the areas of the glory hunting disease that infests our regions with plastic utd/Liverpool/spurs/Chelsea fans…..there’s 1000’s of these parasites in south wales.
  24. The fa cup final was before Tan took over.. The two promotions were pretty disasterous though, the first was the red shit and Tan fall out with Malky, the second a miracle by Warnock but giving him the whole paltry budget of £60 million to blow on useless players like Jacob Murphy, Gary madine and Greg Cunningham was terrible mgt. a miracle we almost stayed up. the only decent player we bought was from you lot, Bobby Reid and Warnock never played him and sold him on…..the only reason the last 10 looks ok because the 30 prior we’re about as bad as it can get bar falling out the league. Plenty of far smaller clubs have gone up and stayed a while like Fulham, Brentford and Bournemouth are now, like Bolton, wigan, swansea, Bradford and other small clubs managed in recent years.
