  1. KP will go down as one of the worst signings ever made from a decision making perspective. It’s disappointing for any signing not to workout but we literally had the guy for several months on loan and there were already signs that it wouldn’t work out which our management team chose to ignore.
  2. https://amp.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2016/nov/02/west-ham-olympic-stadium-deal-explained-london-mayor-sadiq-khan That’ll be why West Ham can offer tickets at such a low price in comparison to Arsenal and Tottenham
  3. We have to assess the likelihood of him signing, if it’s unlikely then we should get rid. As much as Han is a decent player, even a cut price fee will allow us to get a replacement, albeit with considerably less potential. Potential matters for nothing when the player isn’t signing. Whilst we don’t know about any offers so far, we haven’t even reached July yet. I’d be highly surprised if no premiership clubs are willing to take a punt. We should be looking north of £5m had the contract situation been in our side. However, if cut price, we should still be expecting at least £3m, I’d be surprised if nobody would drop to this price. It’s a small fee in relation to the costs incurred but a fee which can help towards our financial struggles or go a long way in todays market should we be looking for a replacement
  4. Pace and power will help get onto the low crosses but ideally we’d want the option of going for high crosses too There will be times where we’ll be chasing a goal, a high cross and a target man will be useful
  5. I haven’t followed Wilson and Naismith but they both got plenty of assists last season, presumably lots from crosses. I’d like to see us sign a Forward who’s big and good in the air, competition for Martin but not expecting to start instantly.
  6. Good luck to him if it happens He was unlucky here, we suffered a crazy amount of injuries. I think it’s important to remember that when thinking back to his reign. Sometimes wonder if that season would have gone any differently had AW not got injured, he looked like the heartbeat of the promising first 5 games at the beginning of that season. That being said, we were a club with promotion ambitions, he didn’t get enough out of the players we were left with and it was the right thing for him to go.
  7. It’s unclear why the lad is on the ground, maybe another attempted player attack. That being said, the lad is on the ground and no longer a threat. It’s unacceptable and stupid. Should be given a lengthy ban, several months rather than games.
  8. Relegated clubs have a huge advantage with parachute payments but it’s still a really tough league regardless of financial power
  9. Crazy decision, they’ve been punching well above their weight for years
  10. They’re in trouble, real danger of relegation
  11. We’re often quick to boo players. Unsure if I’ve missed something but boos of Joe Bryan and Bobby Reid have been disappointing. For the Millwall game, hopefully there are no boos. Particularly for MS, who had a highly successful spell here in that incredible season. Certainly worthy of a decent reception.
  12. I don’t think we’re in any real danger. An average of a point per game is generally enough to stay in the Championship, even more likely with the circumstances of Derby. We were also held back by the psychological barrier of getting that first home win which we’ve now overcome, hopefully this will help us achieve improved home form in the second half of the season. With the outgoings we’ve had (which were necessary), this season was always going to be about keeping a steady ship. As far as that objective goes, we’re on track.
  13. I understand that the spending power of all clubs suffered from covid which resulted in the crash of the transfer market but we didn’t have any obvious high value assets that covid has prevented us from selling with the exception of Diedhiou, Elliasson and Morrell. All of which would not have made big money due to their contractual circumstances. I can’t think of many others that would have had any real value, players like Massengo and Semenyo could have been sold but it would have been premature to make the kind of money we’d have wanted. That’s the worrying thing, one of the main things mentioned was the crash in the transfer market but we didn’t have the assets to capitalise even if the transfer market had been strong. I don’t think the impact caused is as big as suggested. Last year was a total disaster with covid but it would have also been a disaster without covid due to the lack of resale value within our squad. We can sugar coat it with covid but the recruitment has been poor and we were destined to finish with heavy losses, with or without covid.
  14. Sure we can blame covid partially for a decrease in revenue but I’m struggling to understand how we’re blaming the crash in the transfer market. Looking at our squad, I cannot see where high incoming fees would have came from. Maybe we would have got a slightly higher fee for Eliasson? Morrell? Maybe we would have sold Diedhiou? Considering the circumstances of all three, I don’t think we’ve missed out on mega money due to the crash of the transfer market. For me, this is a reality check of where we are as a club. We’re now in a position where we’ll have to run an extremely tight ship over the next 3 years. That being said, there is hope with the promising players coming through the academy, the current squad is good enough for the championship and we’ve got a top manager who has managed to progress us, despite the high volume of outgoings in the summer.

Although these are financially challenging times, this is also the time to get value for money with the amount of clubs willing to let players that would usually command a fee, go for nothing to clear the wage bill. First and foremost, we have to remain as financially stable as possible but with the amount of departures we had in the summer, this may have freed up some finances. If we have money available and can afford to spend a couple of million without too much financial strain, now would be a great time to do it.
  16. I struggle to put my finger on it with KP. He’s got ability but he seems so one dimensional, there’s been a lack of development. The last couple of seasons we’ve been really weak in centre midfield and there was an opportunity for him to capitalise but he’s been nowhere near it. To me, it comes across that he knows how he wants to play and hasn’t had the desire to adapt his game. I really struggle to understand how our previous management preached about players having the right DNA and such a misjudgement was made after a 3 month loan spell.
  17. I hope he gets a decent reception. In regards to his performance, it didn’t work out for him here. However, we’ve since learned that the problems lie deeper than previously thought, we had a horrendous injury list and it was his first role as manager. Performances and results were not good enough, the guy gave his all but was out of his depth. Can’t blame him in going for the job, there were positive signs at the beginning. He was part of the coaching setup that had us improving year on year and deserves a good reception.
  18. Agree with the majority that Tinman is better left in the position he’s currently in, he’s very well respected and would hate for that to be jeopardised. Can see the benefits of it but feel the negatives/risks outweigh the positives and it’s unfair on Tinman who is settled in a role at the club he loves.
  19. That season was a real opportunity to make the top 6. We were on the verge pre covid, had Afobe coming back but the weakness of our team was in centre midfield. Had JB and MP still been here, I believe we would have made playoffs.
  20. The Pack one for me still feels the biggest loss, one which really didn’t need to happen and we completely failed to adequately replace
  21. Baffles me how we’ve kept one clean sheet in 16 games and the scapegoat is the striker
  22. I try not to be negative but there’s no defending conceding a route one goal.
  23. Disappointed to be behind but there was a point in the game where we looked in danger of conceding again. We had a promising end to the half and unlucky not to equalise. Wells has looked promising tonight. Massengo could make a positive difference if brought on in the second half.
  24. Thought it may have been related to the Carlisle vacancy but Millen has been given the job there.
