  1. We can barely keep possession as it is, relying on chris martin to chase down and win long balls whacked up to him isn’t conducive to keeping the ball in the opponent’s half. Without joe williams theres very little fight in midfield which means theres little to stop the ball coming back again when we lose it seeing as he hasnt been fit in 18 months in short, we are shite, you can blame: pearson/previous managers/ ashton/ lansdown/ the players/ or a combination of all of these.
  2. It must be galling for the owner seeing some of this lot not getting game time, or contributing practically nothing when they do, knowing how much they are getting paid.
  3. I reckon cod is probably the sort of personable young fellow who youd like your daughter to bring home, like taylor moore, and is positive and good to have around,,, its just that he never does anything on the pitch apart from approx 1 assist and 1 goal per season
  4. More importantly, that derby points reduction leaves them totally screwed,,, so now we only have to find 2 teams worse than us to survive.
  5. We are mostly city fans on here, but theres no denying that firstly that comeback for rovers was impressive, and secondly, we are absolutely terrible at the moment
  6. I wish he has got 2 more points than holden!
  7. You are all cynical, their proposal to host the world cup was the best by far, and wasnt awarded due to any corruption or shady dealings.
  8. Im sure we are in the same ballpark as some of those clubs, some of those pre covid contracts we are paying out must be horrendous!
  9. To be fair thats every pro footballer of the late 70s!
  10. I understand he asked to come on the show, so kudos to him, but you can almost imagine boris coming out with some of those answers, kinda waffling, not able to give an answer but trying to sound clever.
  11. Exactly, if theres any doubt that pearson wont be staying why would they offer shakespeare a contract?!
  12. My mrs has long covid and isnt well at all, but shes a teacher and they can be covered, with nige, no one is going to go easy on us because of his health, its much more cut throat
  13. I think this post is a timely reminder for everyone about what’s important, city may be my club, and part of my identity, but as the years have passed, life is lived, marriage/kids/divorce, you have to realise that allowing city and the players to influence your mood and life to any great degree before they swan off home in their range rovers and supercars,, well its a rediculous thing to do.
  14. But would they stay if we signed them all?
  15. And would the replacement be the right man?! History says we would balls that up too!
  16. Agree re players who couldnt care less, but 7 of them were brought in by pearson in an attempt to instill his standards on the rest, but arguably they arent good enough, and the standards havent raised. If pearson cant get them organised and motivated and hard to play against, whichnis what a nigel pearson side should be, then he shouldnt be here.
  17. Always good to hear about young uns getting their first contract, congratulations to him!
  18. We went straight to chelsea and signed kalas palmer and Dasilva with it!
  19. Yep, pull up in the range rovers and lamborghinis, being fantastically well rewarded for being a low end championship footballer, while losing most of the time,,, with a nicey Nicey chairman, and manager who cant do much about it… not a bad way of making a living!
  20., how about physio/fitness?
  21., i have keeper concerns too, and coaching and management.
  22. At least mark ashton got his ego boosted by dealing with a big club while he pissed all that money up the wall.
  23. agree they arent going anywhere, not sure though that a deal couldnt have been made with pato if he was happy to agree to reduced pay, and if pearson had wanted him,,, but i have my doubts that pato isnt exactly pearsons idea of an attacking midfielder?
  24. I would love to see a tell all story on the last 5 years at city, but its possibly unlikely!! I dont know the inner workings, but i dont know if cod and palmer who already contracted would have been involved in the decision to extend pato,,, unless it was whether either of them can be moved on. I think they have both demonstrated over the years that aside from 1/2 decent games per season, they really offer very little, and its not a great surprise that both are out of favour!?
  25. I dont think there was a stunned reaction to pato going in the summer, he was a decent servant to us, but really, it was his time to move on. I dont think though that this was affected by finances when we were offering contracts to king and simpson and spending 2 million on atkinson and tanner.
