Yep, i thought in years past that his lack of footballing “skill/touch” marked him as one to move on,,, however what he gives in sheer bloody minded energy and leading from the front is irreplaceable at this point.

Yep,,, why did we sign atkinson??? Couple of decent games at the start of the season, but has gradually gone backwards and is now left on the bench in favour of an out of his depth youth player,, -

No put his hand up to apologise then his team mates ran to him -
Cause footballers are well known for their high professional stance and not having an ego about how great they are.

Hes played in the euros, and in the nou camp and is a millionaire,, i dont think he particularly gives a shit about getting sent off against qpr, regardless of what a tweet might say

Now James is fit can we get rid of Bakinson

Maybe he will but that doesnt make him a disgrace -
We did not play a ‘Striker’ for 90 mins at home
Simon bristol replied to Better Red's topic in Football Chat
Hasnt he scored 1 in 5/6 games this season? If he played 40 games that would average out at 7/8 goals wouldnt it? semenyo up front gave us the power and pace to really take the game to qpr tonight. Im not knocking martin who has been flogged all season, but the difference today was night and day -

Hes not a disgrace,, he clearly is a talented ball player in a team where not many players are very good with the ball… box to box power house of a midfielder he aint, in a decent team who can keep possession he would probably show up pretty well. -

Wow, what a difference, cant believe what im seeing -
I think by good fortune there are 3 teams in a worse position than us, and that will keep us safe. I also think weimann being back as energy of the side makes a big difference and he can score goals. but for me this season is about trying to give young players game time and hopefully getting rid of some higher earners,,, if pearson could actually get us organised and playing some decent football that will be a big bonus.

15 year old on the bench for Millwall
Simon bristol replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
Yep, good player, always wondered why he never got a big move,,, im sure we could have got him for what palmer and dasilva cost -
I like to think im pretty switched on, but you chaps are operating at a whole different level! Im still looking to establish how much/ if any the league allows for covid losses, and what happens in 3 years time when our 1 profitable season rolls off the back of the calculation…. Basically we need to significantly cut wages, stop buying rubbish on rediculous contracts, and get some player sales going again…
-
Nice post dave, just read it on the derby forum… the loss figures are horrific, but aren’t exactly a great surprise, and will be broadly in line with other non pp championship clubs i guess. we are in dire need of moving a few of the top earners off the wage bill,,, we all know who they are, but no one is going to want to take them on!
-
Clearly a lot of that, if correct, was only agreed after significant player sales to raise funds to pay for it.
-
Ive been reading through this thread,,, i think we can all point to various issues over the last 5 years or so that have lead to this loss. Agree though,,, we have raised a fortune through selling a few players, but my god, most of the signings made have been pathetic…. No one is guaranteed a 100 percent success rate on transfers, but our record is horrific.
