  1. As a young teenage lad i had the pleasure of attending a sports physio course at ashton gate with buster… one day ive gone in and john bailey is sat there with one foot in a bucket of water with wires going in to it…. Small electric pulses to help with an injury according to buster…. Someone suggested that i put my hand in the bucket with johns foot to see if i could feel the pulses seeing as i was closest to him…. As a 13 year old city fan i certainly knew who he was, but wasnt sure why john was looking at me like a lion watching an antelope…. so i put my hand in gingerly…. At which point john shouts “BANG” next to my ear….. i obviously jump a mile and soil my underwear while he and everyone else around cracked up laughing…. Fun times!
  2. A queue for handbags means its a terrible venue and always will be? Apart from that id probably say its one of the biggest and most well equiped and modern stadiums in the world.
  3. No different to the olympics…. And you can bet prince william and his kids will have tickets.
  4. Hes done superbly this year, but if hes always been a 20 a season player for a variety of clubs and managers in the championship he wouldnt have ended up playing for us.
  5. Agreed, im not convinced hes the second coming of messi, but as a hard runner and when hes got a chance at a first time instinctive finish, he has been fantastic
  6. Yes definitely, it will be pretty galling to SL if/ when that happens,, knowing how much money was spent on those 2 in particular, plus their wages, just to give them away to get them off the books.
  7. Agree with all that, there are a lot of good championship players out of contract this summer, if we could bring in 2/3 of the better ones that would actually make a better starting side, we might see some progress?!
  8. Its the refs fault we have let in 20 goals in injury time so far this season!
  9. Depends who is out of contract this summer i would have thought
  10. That was my initial view, but why waste the salary when it could be used for someone who comes in as a first team striker
  11. Got to say that somehow, barton has got them absolutely flying, it wouldn’t surprise me at all at this point if they went up automatically.
  12. To be fair, blackburn have been the only team in about the last 3 months to not score at least 2 against us.
  13. Only a few teams in the championship have any money. Coventry didnt play in their own stadium last season, luton have nothing, so many clubs are performing at a decent level, and we are served up the same rubbish constantly!
  14. Not worth getting upset about, they couldnt give 2 shits while picking up their wages, neither should you!
  15. For all the talk about han coming from monaco, the song, the nice lad, theres not a lot of evidence that he can make the difference at championship level…. How many goals against has he been responsible for? How many does he score or contribute?
  16. I thought james was looking decent at the start of the season, but he is starting to look increasingly poor,,, he has a history of fitness issues which have continued here, offers little forward threat, not much in the way of defensive cover, and no one is offering much leadership. We looked much more accomplished in midfield with an 18 year old and 20 year old when he was out.
  17. Yes, why on earth would he sign here at the end of his career for a few hundred a week when the cost of living in bristol will be more than that? one of the stranger of our signings, but the overall cost has been negligible compared to the cost of palmer, wells, fam etc etc
  18. Yes, baker was always a risk too. And we spent 2 million on 2 lower league defenders who may or may not work out, but havent made much of an impact.
  19. Yep, hes terrible, if we survive it will most likely be in 20/21 place above teams with points deductions.
  20. Yeah im inclined to agree. I dont really see how suddenly in august our defence will be fixed and we might get to see some consecutive wins. We just arent set up to stop crosses coming in and stop goals going in. For that tough a character, discipline in defence should be the pre requisite of everything he stands for.
  21. I dont think it matters how many we play back there, there is no appetite to actually defend and be hard to beat. We have 2 experienced international centre backs now, a decent championship keeper behind them, and it still makes no difference!
