  1. I don’t know about the best but in my 36 years this is definitely my worst - circa 1995 Kite Hansen McKop Patterson Dryden Flatts McAree Loss Fowler Barclay Partridge
  2. I think where I mean mobile I am not necessarily talking pace, I mean he has the mobility around the box to get in defenders face, upset backlines, cause havoc and bring other players into play.
  3. Maybe a controversial suggestion, but if we want someone physical, mobile, can hold up the ball and knows where the net is then Jonson Clarke Harris is someone I would be considering. He is also on the transfer list at Peterborough. Of course, there will be those saying not good enough for the championship, flat track bully, ex Gas etc but we are now shopping in League 1 and 2 and he is a proven goal scorer who also has some of the physical attributes we are sorely missing.
  4. If we can get Weimann through the middle and Taylor Hickman starting on Friday, and maybe Naismith in midfield I think I might feel a bit better about things than I did a few days ago!
  5. I would always have Nicky Morgan in any top 5. So underrated.
  6. Judging by my experiences of Fratton Park in the 90s, and given this is on general sale with a 3pm kick off on a possibly hot summers day, plenty of trains, am I the only one thinking this has the potential to be a bit er...lively?!
  7. Michael Appleton Paul Ince Dean Saunders Paul Tisdale Leroy Rosenior
  8. They all had a nasty telling off from that blonde steward and vowed never to return!
  9. I’ve said it before but there is an OOC Lucas Joao down the road at Reading who has a record of 40 goals/104 appearances who at 6ft 4 would make a great addition with loads of champ experience. Plus Ojaria at Reading who has lost his way a bit and available who has always looked decent against us.
  10. Definitely NOT Richard Hoskin. ‘and the ball - has gone into the goal’ ?
  11. A bit left field perhaps but a 19ish year old we had who went onto much bigger and better things who to me looked far too good to be playing for us was Paul Agostino. I remember two brilliant finishes away at Preston and Bournemouth and of course those two goals against the gas. Also remember him missing an open goal at home to Burnley trying to back heel it in front of the Atyeo - so what do I know! Sorry didn’t see this was a choice of two BTW!
  12. Just after the game there seemed to be a disturbance in the stairwell of A9 next to section 82. Lots of children screaming and two women visibly upset. Hope everyone was ok?
  13. Think he came from Rochdale rather than Rotherham
  14. A lot of our best signings have come from Rotherham. Shaun Goater and Martin Scott especially.
  15. Anyone know the situation with Vyners contract? I thought we was OOC at the end of this season? I guess most people thought he was going to be released at the beginning of the season, but he is now favourite for player of the year - fair play to him. Would get very interesting if a prem club (e.g. a Brighton or similar) put in a late bid for him at the end of the window - if he is OOC then I guess he would be off?
  16. Martin Scott Darren Barnard I know he went on a Bosman , but Paul Agostino as well
  17. A little off topic, but I have always felt that Pearson's appointment has been a 'caretaker' to get us away from the Johnson/Ashton era to significantly trim the wage bill and maintain championship status - something I think has delivered on. With Kalas, Wells, Massengo, Klose, Bentley, Martin, King and Dasilva out of contract I do wonder if Pearson has the fight/energy for a huge squad overhaul - esp as he goes into the final year of his contract himself. With Kalas and other big earners likely to be playing somewhere else next season I see it as a massive opportunity for someone to come in and freshen things up with hopefully a bit room to manoeuvre in the transfer market. I think we have been in a 3/4 year malaise - fanbase included.
  18. Guess as the OP what I’m getting at is I’ve no problem with those who want to stand etc but if you turn up 5/10 mins into the game and can’t get to the back then standing in front of older city fans who get in early and want to sit in the front rows as they can’t climb 30 plus steps isn’t the best look
  19. I get if you are at an away game, you might want to stand. But if you do, why don’t you just buy a ticket towards the back not 5 rows from the front? Also, if you rock up 5 mins into the game, then complain you can’t get at the back, don’t knock older fans at the front out of the way who then have to try and stand for the whole game (or see nothing all). If you were in the disabled section today I doubt you saw any of the action in the 2nd half as plenty who came back from half time just stood in the concourse. Yes I guess it’s the stewards job but the abuse some were dishing out to female stewards was embarrassing. Its not on at all.

Like David Kelly was our nemesis in the late 80s, Steve Howard at Luton took that mantle in the early 00’s
  21. Any chance then they could turn off the lights in the Dolman when it’s not half time then?
  22. @Mr Popodopolous 2012–13 Bristol City F.C. season - Wikipedia Grim reading!
  23. I think we just need to somehow stay up this season. Looks like we aren't any better at the back, so if we start selling the likes of Semenyo and Weimann then we are back to how we ended the 2012/13 season 10 years ago - League 1. For those out of contract I cannot see anyone coming in for the likes of Bentley, Kalas, Wells, Dasilva, Massengo etc because of the salaries we indulged them under Mark Ashton - they won't get better anywhere else so wouldn't surprise me if we have another Diedhiou situation with all of them where they are looking to gamble on getting a big signing on fee to make up their lower wages somewhere else. This also does make me question how they will be committed to a relegation dog fight this winter. We also haven't heard anything from the club on renewing any of them (apart from Massengo) If we do cash in on Scott or Semenyo I also have grave concerns about NP ability to attract and bring in adequate replacements.
  24. This is a football club for god sake, not John Lewis.
