  1. Just wondered if anyone has heard anything when we can expect to be given a call about renewing the car parking for those which have it in Wickes?
  2. Agree, this forum is about individual opinions, and as such I have expressed my view that some of the comments on this thread IMO are nonsense. Just because I don't follow what you have assumed as the 'general consensus' that doesn't make me wrong or you correct - it is my own view.
  3. When he signed from Oxford, he seemed to be an out and out left winger, bombing forward, beating full backs. Johnson then tried to be clever, sticking him out on the right wing. Then whenever he had to cut inside on his left, more often than not lost it or got crowded out. I am not saying he didn't have his faults, but Callum strikes me as confidence player and if he was put in his proper position early on I think he could have flourished. Good luck Callum, you don't deserve some of the nonsense written on this thread.
  4. Yeah when I got to meet him as a 9 year old to collect my award at Cadbury house obviously my immediate thought was it was no big deal for me because he’s only driven from Worle! Pathetic
  5. My Dad wrote to Bristol City to see if they would send a player (e.g. a youth team or someone of that ilk) to help present the awards for the Yatton Junior FC presentations award in 1989 at Cadbury Country Club (now Cadbury House). Bob Taylor said he would do it, and he travelled down and presented every award to about 100 kids from U9 right through to U15s -and these presentation events went on for hours! What a legend on and off the pitch

    FBC Pod

FBC is definitely my 'go to' out of the ones on offer. Ian can be very marmite, but that is what makes FBC what it is. The interviews with past players etc are great, and we must remember the guys aren't getting paid to do this, and you aren't obliged to listen either. One thing which did make me laugh is Ian takes great pride in telling everyone you can't just get rid of Wells, Palmer and Bakinson as they are in contract, yet on this weeks episode he wants to clear out the whole of the midfield (when Williams, James, Bakinson, Massengo all under contract). Can't have it both ways!

    Downsy

Fair play to Downsy he’s looking a lot leaner recently so I’d back him if it went to the car park
  8. Basically a shandy for hipsters then
  9. I am also taking a year off next year after many years a ST. It isn't so much the price increase, it is more I am not actually enjoying going anymore. I don't have that pre-match anticipation and with parachute payments effectively creating a glass ceiling at the top there doesn't seem to be any real purpose apart from trying to tread water in a league we have probably not been good enough to be in for the last 2 seasons.
  10. Didn’t Anthony (Tony) Grant play for city as well?

    Crowd

I don't think this 'bring a mate for £12.50' does us many favours. I think some people see it as a cheap afternoon out to go the football, get wasted act like morons. Yesterday the lower block of E30 was full of coked up / drunk blokes (with women with kids), getting up and down constantly, standing in the exit leaning on the glass blocking peoples view, openly drinking in the st spitting on the floor, smoking/vaping, and throwing stuff at each other, and not really watching the game. No stewards around either. I am no prude but when you have got some coked up peasant out their head sitting next to you, and every other word begins with a C, you start to wonder whether you should be spending your Saturday afternoons doing something completely different.
  12. I think we finished last year on 51 points and 19th with a -22 goal difference...and it was a horrendous season. This season we are on 40 points, with a -18 goal difference - with away games still to play at Blackburn, Bournemouth, Stoke, Derby and Huddersfield. It will be some indictment on Pearson if we manage to finish below 19th with less points and a worse goal difference!!
  13. Wayne Allison is bang on about Nicky Morgan - most underrated player in my 35 years of watching City
  14. Agree. What annoys me is this self righteous attitude that if you don't sing along to this bounce around cringe fest you are in some way less of a fan. That is often followed by that 'your not singing over there - followed by 'you c*nts' to our own supporters!
  15. God forbid, we might be in some flavour of lockdown in January and Feb time. You have to ask whether any players really want to be or allowed to be moving around the country to a new club, and the whole logistic part to do with travel, being away from family and being stuck in a hotel. If we are looking safe, far better to utilise the existing squad although if he was available on loan - Matt Smith would be ideal.
  16. There is one below E30 called the VAG centre. I’m looking to book in for a full service at the earliest opportunity.
  17. In my working life, I put people into two camps - doers, and people who talk a good game. City fall into the latter. For all of the media spin, projects, fancy buzzwords (HPC etc), pillars, fashion shows of kits, social media gifs etc - its all hot air and doesn't equate in anyway to the clubs performance on the pitch. I think deep down the club is too nice and cosy, which moving into the Premier League with more focus, exposure and dare I say scrutiny would be too uncomfortable to many within the club. We have had two real opportunities to get there, 10 years apart. Under Gary Johnson, I think we were 2nd in the league around Xmas and other clubs used that transfer window to strengthen with quality - I think Stoke brought in 3 players and went up automatically. I think we baulked at this, and brought in Adebola and Nick Carle and spluttered our way into the play offs as I don't think as a club we wanted it badly enough. Same thing in 2017/18. Our stock was probably at its highest post the Man Utd and Man City games, and I have no doubt that the likes of Reid and Bryan were looking at that transfer window to see if we as a club were actually serious about getting into the Premier League . So what did we do, same as 10 years previous - baulked at it again and went to France and brought in an unknown in Diony, Ryan Kent, and a kid from Evertons reserves. As I said, we talk a good game, but never actually deliver.
  18. I agree, and certainly ties into this 'too nice' and 'soft touch' which has been levelled at the club, probably since Cotterill left. You have Dasilva and Palmer prancing around Ashton Court doing a fashion show or something for the purple kit, ridiculous social media nonsense and 'try hard' videos trying to infantilising the fanbase, music in the concourse now at half time like some kids disco, and Downsy and the like welcoming away fans like they are attending a wedding reception. And don't get me started on new signings being paraded on the roof and treated like some demi god before they've even kicked the ball.
  19. Pearson played a blinder sucking a 3 year deal out of Lansdown as he knew we were vulnerable after the Holden debacle, and as others have said, knew how soft the club is from top to bottom - proven by the sanctioning of those 3 Leicester old boys who look an absolute waste of a wage.
  20. Must admit I thought it was more 4-4-1-1 with Patterson playing behind Reid, Magnússon and Bryan one side and Brownhill and Wright the other, Smith and Pack in the middle rather than 5-4-1. I do agree though that when Wolves scored that injury time winner that Xmas 4 years ago, it has almost been a watershed moment ever since with the creation of a bloated squad with no idea of what pattern or shape Johnson wanted to play as he just stumbled across things as he went along (IMO) alongside Ashton. I am glad we had that clear out at the end of last season, although I am at the same time perplexed that Lansdown has sanctioned the re-filling the squad with the signings of Simpson, King and James who in my view looks well off the pace for me.
  21. Any chance they can turn the lights down in the stands on Tuesday night so the only focus is on the pitch? Evening games now remind me of being in a supermarket.
