  1. Although I like James, I've wondered about a Naismith-TGH-Knight midfield. Mainly for the reasons above, but also a better range of passing from the back.
  2. Best player on the pitch by a long way today.
  3. I parked at the gasworks carpark last time out. Not far from the stadium, plenty of space. You'll need to prebook on the HTFC website. It was about £6 iirc.
  4. Agreed, there are some areas he could improve in, but unless JL decides to turn the money taps on, I can't look past the fact that only 3 teams have let in fewer goals so far this season, whereas only 5 have scored fewer. If there's limited funds, they can probably be better spent elsewhere.
  5. It's not just the initial save, what you can't appreciate from the clip above is he still had the presence of mind to stick his leg out to stop the Wednesday player getting the rebound. Atkinson was also complimentary in his commentary about how well Max helps them defend crosses. Perhaps he needs some more established competition, but I still think it would cost a lot of money to get a significant upgrade, whether it's transfer fees or salary.
  6. That's a valid question, one that perhaps should have been thought about before sacking our previous manager. As for Lampard, did ok at Derby with some good young loans. Since then took a Chelsea team that finished 3rd in the Premier league and left them in 10th, then got sacked by Everton in 19th place where they had to be saved by Dyche, then won 1 in 11 games in his second spell at Chelsea. It's not an inspiring record.
  7. The only way I'd want Lampard is if he's able to use his contacts to get properly top class loans cheaply as a favour. Barring that, I don't see anything in his cv that suggests he would be a success.
  8. In my experience if a senior member of staff starts speaking out publicly against owners/CEOs, there's usually one outcome. The owner/ CEO may not be far behind in their departure because the person criticising is often correct, but they're not usually the first to go. I hope I'm wrong though.
  9. I agree with the need to get some competition in, but we'd have to pay a lot of money to get an upgrade that would earn us a significant amount of extra points over the season rather than the odd one or two.
  10. I live a few miles north from Hillsborough, the stream of traffic that comes along when Sunderland are playing Wednesday is massive.
  11. Had a drink with a couple of Rotherham supporting friends before the game and their summary of the team was pretty much how it played out. Rathbone too good for them, some pacy players in the team but no quality up front to finish it off. Their main concern was their injury list which is apparently quite extensive. Hugill spent most of the game trying to foul Naismith. When he got away with it once that seemed to be his sole aim.
  12. The famous New York red fire hydrants were also made on Don St next to the stadium. Not sure if the area is called New York for this reason though.
  13. It's that we were in control the whole match and the nature of their goals that's so frustrating. If they were clinical counter attacks or a creative moves I wouldn't begrudge them the win, but they were just handed the chances.
  14. I’ve just watched the highlights of the Bournemouth game! We gave away Sunday football goals and Alex Neil says “the fact is there we will from our performance improve! “ What does that mean??’ Are they sure it's not Yoda in disguise
  15. No shots by either team according to BBC. Is that right?
  16. I thought this thread was going to be about Southern Water releasing effluence?
  17. If you've defaulted and the default rate is 5% per month, then that equates to 79.6% per year.
  18. Question 5, I always thought Jesus died at Calvary, rather than with the the local horse mounted army unit? Edit: I'd best add, I love the match day posts Jerseybean, huge credit for the amount of time put into these for each match.
  19. Went tonight with a mate who's a Liverpool fan that went to their match on Sunday, talk about a step down in quality 2 days apart ?. Huddersfield were absolutely dire, aimless long balls to nobody for most of the match, seemingly no plan, like 11 players in a trial match. A frustrating match to not win, but I had a feeling all week it was going to be that sort of game.
  20. Did Grimsby actually create any chances themselves? I thought our Stoke game was bad enough for hitting the self destruct button.
  21. Had we not played a game extra on boxing day as well? Win our game in hand and we're effectively the same points behind, but played the same rather than 1 more. As a caveat to the above, I think it's very unlikely we'll get there. Out of interest, how far behind were we after the two subsequent draws post WBA? Would be interesting to know how much we've caught up from there, rather than after WBA.
  22. I'm just amazed that no-one has mentioned his 'There's always spanners around' comment near the start ?
  23. Thought I was watching us after that last penalty shout that was turned down.
