  1. I remember some great rivalry especially when I was a young lad at away games at the old Eastville ground. The gas and the Tote end and the pitch invasions at the end were both sets of supporters were like two armies running at each end of the pitch, us from the open end and the gas from the Tote end clashing mid way. From memory this was would be mid early 70s. We will always be the best club in Bristol but looking for a bit of a gas ressurection to bring back some rivalry.
  2. 7-0 and automatic promotion. Bristol Rovers produced a stunning second-half display to thrash a youthful Scunthorpe side and snatch automatic promotion from League Two on goals scored after a dramatic final afternoon. Probably good for Bristol football in general terms and next season only one division below us. Even though I wish them luck as long as they always stay a division below us for the rest of my life I will be extremely happy.
  3. They were good but not exceptionally good. XTC was one of the smartest – and catchiest – British pop bands to emerge from the punk and new wave explosion of the late '70s. ... While popular success has eluded them in both Britain and America, the group has developed a devoted cult following in both countries that remains loyal over two decades after their first records. ... XTC's lack of commercial success isn't because their music isn't accessible – their bright, occasionally melancholy, melodies flow with more grace than most bands – it has more to do with the group constantly being out of step with the times. However, the band has left behind a remarkably rich and varied series of albums that make a convincing argument that XTC is the great lost pop band.[1]
  4. Great job Jersey bean. You put all the information available in one concise post. Lets hope for an away win today
  5. https://www.dlgsc.wa.gov.au/department/news/news-article/2022/04/28/premier-league-superstars-kicking-goals-for-perth-in-international-festival-of-football-blockbuster-event Four great clubs in Perth for what is a winter for us down under. Optus Stadium hold around 90 K. A full capacity is expected for United v Villa. Any City supporters in OZ going to these two it would be great to catch up for a beer
  6. Thanks Dave, News like that gave me bloody pains in me chest so I took an extra aspirine . Now I might have a Creatures Pale Ale and be happy
  7. Something like a deduction of 6 to 12 points next season could result in a possible play off spot but then drop us back down to where we are about now this season. The Championship is a very close league when you take on points as a perspective.
  8. I have just googled points deductions Bristol City. It potentially does not look good and there are also other Championship clubs listed as well.
  9. Be positive major. Let us hope NP has all this planned and covered.
  10. We need to keep him. He has great potential and part of the next two season progression in NP plan for Prem at BS3.
  11. What is it 52 points now and two matches left. Going back a few weeks ago there was a lot of posts around would we get 50 points and would 48 points be enough ? Luckily or not luck we now have 52 and what would seem four or five weeks ago a bit of worry has taken the pressure off. The last few matches the players have shown some tremendous commitment. I think Hull at home will still be a tough one but the result will be a close win for us. Away to Huddersfield after that will be very tough but a draw is my prediction. This would give us 56 points and very credible at that. looking at some of the posts on You Tube of city fans away is incredible. It has been incredible all season with the numbers travelling and the singing throughout matches. Those of you having the chance and the money to go away on the last one this season I wish you all the best for a great enjoyable day out. Im looking forward to next season all ready.
  12. Great photos. What is with the cars on the 6th photo parked on yellow lines. It looks a great stadium to watch football.
  13. He is a very honest player when interviewed. He is down to earth and he knows what he is good at. A great signing and let us hope he is with us season next season.
  14. You are a true robin. My first City home match was around 1968 and I was 6 years old. My dad took me too every home match for many years up to about I was around 11 or 12. We had a nice spot in the East End near the corner and I watched the Dolman stand being built. Then when my dad did not want to take me as he liked his Saturday afternoons in the Concorde pub at Stockwood other City die hards from Stockwood would take me. Then in my teams I started to go too away matches with mates from Bris school. I remember so many great away matches. Coventry, West Ham, Arsenal, West Brom, Even had a season ticket in the Dolman between 82 and 83. 89 moved to OZ and have been back only three times in the past 30 or so years but I have always managed to get a home match in. Last one was early December a couple of years ago and we lossed to Blackburn Rovers. I was back for my dads funeral.
  15. Wow mate back to the 40s. How old are you ? well done mate
  16. I bet you and your family and our parents and grand parents that have supported this great club have spent enough all ready. A season ticket purchase does not mean the club and Lansdown will spend. We need to win week in and week out and the games we draw we need to make sure we have done everything we can possibly do. This will result in season ticket purchases and what snowbals from there. inconsitencey is the team issue and not us City supporters
  17. LPG Gas cost is through the roof. The only hot air I can see is Pearson still having a moan in not making the 50 point mark
  18. 3-3 for me at 40-1. Peterborough if you can bet on it two of three of their three goals will be from penalties. Set pieces as we know we are crap at all season. We will be under pressure and ultimately commiting stupid mistakes and fowels in the 18 yard box One point for us is still better than none
  19. Now you have opened a "how many goals will Andy get this season" I think he will net another six in the championship that brings him up to 24. I wish all the best to him and hope he does well playing for his country.
  20. Shane Warnes private funeral in melbourne today for all of you sporting fans. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=7f16d159fbcc65affa302ac332c39b1457d7d2edba971b557b8ef7bdf5b3c7f3JmltdHM9MTY0Nzc2NTA1MCZpZ3VpZD0wZDc1MjBlMy1kMjJmLTQ3M2MtOTVkNy1iYjdlMjg0NGIyMGEmaW5zaWQ9NTE2Mw&ptn=3&fclid=0c7ce52c-a828-11ec-9d0b-f4414f6613de&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYWJjLm5ldC5hdS9uZXdzLzIwMjItMDMtMjAvc2hhbmUtd2FybmUtZmFtaWx5LWZ1bmVyYWwtaGVsZC8xMDA5MjUyNjA_bXNjbGtpZD0wYzdjZTUyY2E4MjgxMWVjOWQwYmY0NDE0ZjY2MTNkZQ&ntb=1
  21. Hi Marmite, perhaps they need some vegemite.
  22. Hope we keep him. The development seems a bit slow but the quality is there. He is a great investment if the club can keep him for next season.
