I’m seeking some genuine clarification via this post please.

As it happens yesterday the forum was unavailable then today it’s full of rumours and conspiracies about the demise of Nigel Pearson.

These are the two primary questions I have, what has happened and why has it happened now?

I’m aware that some people have linked the failure to secure Adam Murphy and the fact that LJ is now unemployed to the rumors that NP is to be shown in the door, but I really don’t get it and would appreciate anybody helping me to do so.

In a nutshell when IMO he has done such a solid job in creating a sustainable and professional culture, cut the wage bill, recruited wisely and on a limited budget, developed young players, and so on, would we ever want to replace him with somebody else? The only explanation I have to why this would happen would be if he didn’t want to continue when his current contract expires.

Perhaps I am missing the point big time but I would really appreciate any insights into why these rumors are so rife at this particular time.

    Thank you in anticipation.

Yep,I couldn't connect to the forum all day yesterday, and regarding LJ comment,if he comes back I'm off,

If it's being lied to that you're worried about, I can think of more important examples to get worked up about.

So out of interest, did you fire off an angry letter to the Telegraph about that fat prck of a prime minister we had not so long ago? Or perhaps you were on the Stop the War march before our illegal invasion of Iraq, way back when? Then again  maybe such matters are a mere trifle, compared to what a football manager said to some hacks before a Milk Cup tie (or whatever it's called these days)?

Fair play, if so. Wish I could be more like it.

What the Fxxk are you talking about

Also why was the game showed on the screen  ? Thought you wasn't allowed to do that during the game.

According to EFL rules no club are allowed to show any 3pm  live game on the big screen,

  5. Talking about new rules, in the technical area only one person (manager) is allowed during the game, yet Preston had 2 coaches in the technical area during play, yet the ref did nothing, on Friday night the ref booked the second coach for being in there, inconsistent refs again,

Club replying on Twitter with the following:

”Hi, this was a late direction from the EFL, meaning the scoreboard could not be reprogrammed in time.

It will carry on in future matches.”

What a load of rubbish, yet the championship game on Friday night on Sky was able to show the clock still ticking in injury time,

  7. What happened to the clock on the big screen, according to the the new rules, stadium clocks must continue to tick away during injury time, ours stopped at 45,mins and 90 mins, anyone else notice this,

It has to be given as a foul for there to be a sending off!

it is not Gill’s first season in the EFL coming up. It’s his second.

Still, he was awful, miles behind the sending off offence, let alot of ugly fouls go without punishment, ,

You really did spell it wrong... I was thinking you meant Gurnham Singh, not Jarnail Singh! The rest of my reply below still stands though!

Was he really? That would explain a lot. Gurnham Singh, Vic Callow and Lester Shapter era was a dark one for refereeing

    Thanks for the correction,?

Just watched the highlights on YouTube & with that & the blatant penalty on Pring, wow.

Either he was some local ref who is a Pompey fan or refereeing standards remain shit.

I know what my money is on.

It was the referees first game incharge, he's doing EFL championship next season,

The most obvious answer is the ref didn’t believe it was a foul. He was wrong - both watching it real time and replay.

Broader I thought it was a poor performance from the ref but that was in a strange way beneficial. It meant the game got a bit more feisty than a normal pre season in parts and that can only aid sharpness. A couple of incidents stand out there - about 30 minutes in Scott had a free kick given against him harshly - next tackle he absolutely left one on the Pompey player and nothing was given. The second was Roberts absolutely firing into things. But that was a whole 45 minutes thing!

In friendlies, referees don't usually use Yellow cards, when it's a red they usually consult the manager to take the player off by the means of a substitute, but it was definitely a red in the second half when Alex Scott was clear on goal and the defender took him out, but the referee waved play -on, plus 2 penalties in the first half, the ref didn't have a clue,

The referee was poor. Looked like we could've had a couple of pens (I e. Sammy Bel in the first half. I don't think though was anything more sinister than he just didn't think it was a foul. From memory it was a clumsy challenge but a genuine attempt to play the ball. Doesn't make it any less of a penalty, but wouldn't have been a red card under the new/clarified rules for the season ahead so I don't believe a sending off would even have come into the equation.

The referee was Gurdan Sings son, (spelt wrong I know, he used to wear a turbin when a ,  referee
