  1. Crawley I think. We actually won two nil but it sticks in my mind. Remember sitting in the Atyeo watching the fireworks. Remember losing to Leicester when I think McInnes was in charge and some one about half a dozen rows down just read a book for the whole game!
  2. No urgency in our play today and looked as if we were the away team. So many times our players had space to move the ball forward into and chose to pass backwards or side ways instead of carrying it and driving forward. It’s one thing having a game plan but sometimes you need to read the moment. Far too safe.
  3. Not suggesting this should, could or would happen but I think he would actually fit more into the style we are playing now. Definitely a player in there but he really needs to be getting game time and not sure Leeds is the right move for him.
  4. Fairly standard terms and conditions you would think. Man United would look to use the money to improve old Trafford and increase match day revenue. This in turn increases the turn over which drives up share price. Offering a solid return on the investment being put in. Could City offer the same growth on any return when you consider how much SL has put in and not seen a return on. It would be subject to us getting to the Premier League where as Man United just need to sit tight and reap the ever growing TV money year on year. Low risk with high return.
  5. Maybe it’s a lazy comparison but Raneiri went into Leicester after Pearson and found great success off the back of what Pearson had built. Pearson had stated in a couple of previous interviews that it would be possibly someone else who would come in and take the club forward. This is testament to the solid foundation that Pearson created that in both cases it can be built on rather than knocked down and started again. Also being a Leicester fan it’s been interesting to see the similarities in how both situations have panned out up to now and whilst I would have been happy for Pearson to remain I’m equally happy that Manning has come and hope that history can repeat itself and we go on to find success (not suggesting winning the Prem obviously) and we finish the season with something to play for going into the last few games.
  6. That is going above and beyond the call of duty and I salute him!
  7. So the wife has broken my Bristol City mug. I was obviously devastated and pointed out it was my lucky mug. To which she replied you’ve had it five years and not sure it’s been that lucky. (Ouch!) Really can’t argue that. I first started watching city in the Joe Jordan era and a had lucky scarf where I never saw us lose in 20 games. In an effort to have some lighter non Pearson vs Manning posts. Let’s hear about some of your lucky items or pre match rituals?
  8. I once had to clean one out in my first job after leaving school. I immediately regretted not paying more attention in class. I cannot even bring myself to mention what you find at the bottom
  9. For me the team that was on the pitch at 60 minutes should have been the team that started. Too much rotation at the moment is disrupting our cohesion. In isolation we look really good but in the majority quite poor. Manning, like any other manager who could have come in is going to need a couple of windows to make his mark but I can’t fathom some of the team selections presently.
  10. Reminds of the days of pay on the gate when I was a kid. In the old open end and they announced the crowd and it was ridiculously lower than what was there! Tax fiddled back in the day me thinks!
  11. I think we will announce the new head coach late tomorrow or early Friday. With the line that Curtis will take the team on the weekend and the new coach will watching from the stands. They don’t want to appoint to early as they would have to lead the team on the weekend and with the potential hostility best to let it simmer out a little.
  12. Thanks for taking the time to do the analysis. It’s really appreciated and it makes really interesting reading. It seemed the same with Semenyo when he was here and it become a bit predictable. Not to say it can’t work but as you said would like to see them mix it up a bit more.
  13. To my untrained eye we seemed or felt like we hit less passes blindly into the channels once Sam Bell came off which helped retain possession. You might have the stats to back it up but we seemed to start passing shorter and retained possession more. I was a couple of beers in so probably wrong! and to add that’s not a dig and Sam Bell either.
  14. I remember him kicking someone’s boot away in a match after it had fallen off and being a general nuisance whilst playing on the front foot and looking to move the ball forward. Hope he recovers fully and picks up where he left off.
  15. I thought the same but looked back in BBC live chat and think it might have been Tanner that picked up the card?
  16. Lots of transport issues last night. Trains not running and the A369 shut possibly impacted quite a few.
  17. This was when clubs were not aware of what they would be allowed to write off for COVID I believe. If we had tipped over then many other clubs would have been in a similar situation. Imagine every team starting on minus 3 points! ?
  18. If you’re shopping on a budget you have to cut your cloth accordingly. You think more wisely about what you put in your trolley and you make sure you eat it. Johnson in the transfer market was like the big shop on an empty belly and he never really worried about if what he put in the basket he would use. Nice to have it in the cupboard in case I fancy it was the way he looked at it. Most of it went out of date and was rotten and the rest was too fatty and was bad for our health!
  19. I was about twelve years old at the time and watched it from the home end. Having to boo each time we scored was a new experience! Great game! ?
  20. The wheels on the bus go round and round? Change my mind!
