  1. I know what you mean it! Next thing you know he’ll have a son who is a promising youngster breaking through just to underline how old we are all getting! I remember Andy Cole breaking through and his young son has broken through- hang on he’s now 28! ?
  2. The transfer market is like the food chain and whether we like it or not we are not at the top of it. As others have said Bournemouth are to us what we are to the likes of Derby. Size of gates and supporter base doesn’t give you a seat at the top table but your position in the league and spending capability. Whilst we would all love to keep our best players I am confident that the team is in good hands with Pearson and Tinnion to go and find another player who in two years time we will be having this same outcry about not keeping hold of them as Bournemouth once again come in and make an offer we can’t refuse.
  3. @Dollymarie Is that on the first floor of the sports bar? Reckon he won’t make the whole of the first half but wanted to make sure he had a seat for the prem next year!
  4. We don’t want to get In Wells way as he takes them. ?
  5. We are looking at bringing our toddler to the match on Saturday but does anyone now where we can leave a pushchair for the match where it would be secure?
  6. It’s a position that is difficult to rotate unlike say a striker. If you bring someone in then as much as you want them to be competing for a shirt you need them to be supportive if they are not playing. From the outside looking in we have a very together group who support each other. If the club get the recruitment wrong on a keeper then it could disrupt this and create a negativity in the dressing room. Where as the younger pros acting as understudies would remain positive as they see a pathway, they do lack the experience. It’s what do you take the gamble on. I would probably go with the youth and exploit the emergency loan if we needed to.
  7. Seems odd to hold out too long. If he suffers an injury whilst training on his own then any interested club would likely not sign him. If he did his ACL for instance would a club want to pay close to a years salary whilst he hopefully recovers. A very good player but maybe overestimating his own stock right now and holding out for a perceived deal that’s not there. Will all be resolved soon either way with seasons fast approaching.
  8. I feel like City are playing it quite sensible. If a player doesn’t make it then let him go and pursue a career elsewhere. Don’t hold out for transfer fees but load the deal with add ons. It creates opportunities then for other players and young pros signing know that city are focused on not standing in there way. It’s a good sign of the quality coming through when we can move on a Welsh international knowing we have better coming through.
  9. Goalkeeper and a central midfielder in the deeper role to compete with Williams and James assuming that Kal is going centre back we’ve got cover. Plenty of players in attacking options I don’t think we need to strengthen or we just block the pathway for the likes of Seb
  10. If you’re winning games and near the top you seem to have less injuries than when your are near the bottom and scrapping. That could be the obvious correlation or is it that players want to hide when things are not going well? Personally I feel that if the season were to start tomorrow even without Kalas and Scott we could still be very competitive in this league with the squad available. I don’t see left back as an area for concern as plenty could drop in and cover.
  11. Don’t you think he’ll be here in May 2024 then?
  12. I liked Famara, Semenyo and Martin as players and thought they were good at what they brought to the side but in each case our play became predictable and easy to defend. We saw it after Semenyo played well against Fulham with his quick break away goals that we started to hit those passes at every opportunity and defenders adapted. Famara came in and actually killed the high press that we had opposed to the likes of Reid and Paterson. What surprised me with these players is we rarely played wingers allowing them to use height and physicality attacking the ball and would isolate them with back to goal. With wingbacks it tends to leave a space down the side and you would see the player drift out wide and ending up playing their own ball into the box where they should be to receive it. Semenyo less of an issue as he had the pace to attack from that position. For Chris Martin he never had the mid field bombing past him and ended up having to carry the ball forward himself and didn’t have the legs to do it.
  13. I see this as a good thing. If they rate him that highly that he should go to a bigger team than us then we’ve got a great player. As someone else has said we would want Alex to go to a bigger club than Bournemouth based on how highly we rate him and would consider Bournemouth being below him and they would be happy they have a great player. I’ve got a great feeling about this season. We’ve addressed all the areas that we were weak in last season. Would like to have another keeper but that’s based on no knowledge of what we’ve got in back up. In Nigel we trust.
  14. Looking at house prices is a real eye opener! ?
  15. Found this whilst clearing out the loft.
  16. Will the ticket police be expecting us to show out e ticket as we walk up to the ground like we have to with our physical ticket now?
  17. Personally in my opinion half of Massengo’s problem was Massengo . I think at times he tried too hard in games. His over exuberance impacted his discipline to hold his shape. Maybe this was because he was trying too hard to win a place in the team or maybe to justify his transfer fee but unlike many who have left us you could never accuse him of not putting a shift in. Reminds me in many ways of Liam Robinson. You always got that feeling that if he clicked he would be unplayable. I wish him all the best. My best memory was when he lost the ball and then tracked all the way back to right back and won the ball back. Got kicked by the opposition and won a free kick. There was a cheer around the ground as if we’d scored a goal! Good luck Hans!
  18. There is a very thorough bid process where all entries are submitted in sealed envelopes. These envelopes need to brown and the thickest one wins.

Greatest come back since Wayne Rooneys hairline!
  20. Incredible player but with his physique I wonder whether he will playing as effectively in his mid thirties like perhaps Ronaldo and Messi do.
  21. Never heard of it but have added it to Spotify! A cider with and Peter Crouch podcast is right up my street so looking forward to this.
