  1. All strength with you Scottish ??
  2. Deepest condolences Jarrett , in the toughest of times With many others your Dad will keep the red flag flying high , in the stand above ?️?
  3. Diaz is some player - great ability and a real street warrior Salah meanwhile looks like he’s dropped gears since the new contract
  4. He is having a complete horror show -horrendous performance Napoli have been excellent , but blimey , 4-0 now
  5. They are getting absolutely murdered Could be 5 or 6 easily , pen miss , off the line Spurs getting runaround by Marseille too
  6. They all have to be with his left foot And away from home
  7. Think they stopped the facility to record the red button a while back ??
  8. If you are an accountant I suggest you look a bit further at his spending on clubs in the bag ...... Include the signing on fees , the soaring wages and total wage bill.... doubled ? He thought he was far better than he is , Or was and had far higher opinion of his own ability than he did of others who are leagues ahead of him managerially We’ve had worse , but for the opportunities he was afforded he’d be looking at the wrong end of the table in my list of best managers here Him and the snake blew the best opportunities we had at this level in my lifetime
  9. Said this previously , totally agree with you Id have liked SL to have assembled the players the following morning after Plymouth and told them , anyone who wanted out to speak up and put it in writing and he would ensure it happened ASAP as Gary Johnson wasn’t going anywhere He’d earned that IMHO
  10. And how much game time he sees here, and more importantly whether he thinks he will get starts looking forward In reverse he needs to keep his standard to its current level
  11. Have to confess Phil , I like to think my spelling / English isn’t bad but I’ve learnt something from the correction ? - I would have ignorantly made the same error
  12. Excellent posts * If you filled your trousers in front of 5’7 Gary Johnson , you’d have bitterness for your humiliation too ! Mr Robinson and Ian Gay both known of by many supporters , but for reasons I wouldn’t want to be
  13. I was going to say - and John Ward , often overlooked and doesn’t get the praise he should
  14. Guess they will argue , the logic that , as it’s in your hands , an opponent can’t play the ball so as such the ball isn’t in play and any unnecessary in distribution / restarting the game is ‘ time wasting’ ?? Have to say it is really annoying and needs stamping out
  15. Listened to Paul Barber the other day being asked about all aspects Brighton He said the most important thing they did was their training centre / facilities One thing SL should have listened to Danny Wilson about
  16. Shame about virtually all the other 50 odd eh Id call that severe clutching at straws tbh If by some miracle make the Premier League , I don’t think it will be down to Johnson in any way shape or form Weimann very good buy , Bentley very good , JD potentially Just a shame he couldn’t get much out of them and it’s required a decent manager to do so
  17. Did he ? Really ? You're not an accountant clearly He didn’t do ‘well’ in the Championship either What did he achieve ? I’ll tell ya He inherited a slim quad with some excellent players , four of whom went onto Premier League Football He was allowed to enhance that squad with Tomlin & Co .... ‘saved us from relegation’ (If you believe so) and 18 months later , despite being indulged in various new acquisitions including Tammy and Tomlin on a permanent etc , we avoided releagation in the penultimate game with a surprise win at promoted Brighton What followed was an indulgent real life game of football manager , acquiring , and discarding player after player and constantly tinkering with selections , formations and tactics ...........and talking complete b******** Once Cotts players had been sold or discarded , he was lost , it was a one way road The result - one of the most unbalanced ,largest , demotivated , certainly the most expensive , squads we’ve ever had if not THE He also , together with £500 p.a Swiss Tony left us with one hell of a financial mess Oh yes , .......he did really well
  18. You would think he will get game time too , having been cut short last time , as they surely will want to have a look at him before WC Might actually get him match mins , give him another lift / boost , and get him nicely up and running for us ! ??
  19. I’m not sure the story or even exactly what the injury was , where and when occurred , or whether it was a problem that had developed , but I thought I remember somebody posting on here (Fevs ?) that the Ghana FA had behaved well ,recognised an injury and pulled him out etc (paraphrased)
  20. Yes , I agree I think or anticipate ‘dips’ and the odd bloody nose and I just hope that everyone doesn’t react with knee jerk reactions in disappointment and critque Im not sure where, just really really intrigued , where this season will go , ( my head tells me depths quality wise in squads will tell and benefit some other teams , and make life difficult for us ) My sole ‘interest’ is Bristol City not any individual I was intrigued and pleased by Pearson’s appointment , I’ve always liked his straightforward and honest approach , and I can honestly say I think he’s actually exceeded any of my expectations in a number of aspects , and impressed me far more than I thought he would. I think we have a really good genuine leader , with a staff he’s assembled and seems happy with , a set of hungry players who are playing for him , and a feel good factor , it would appear around the whole club. That means for me that , finances aside , and we are getting there too, we are in a really good place and on a good progressive trajectory Losing one of the young stars or injuries could disrupt us for a period , but we won’t go completely off the rails , and , if we maintain patience will be back on track relatively quickly Theres a lot of phraseology in modern football , much of which I hate But there’s one that’s very apt for me and made for us atm ‘Trust the process’ (Under the current management) I certainly do
  21. I never felt the high press , exhausted theory was correct I felt the players lost belief that they were in with a serious chance of promotion and a couple or more were starting to make plans to be elsewhere and , nowhere near down tooled , but lost a bit of focus , and more importantly belief and momentum Not helped by adding Kent and Diony either on the pitch or I’d suggest in terms of squad togetherness
  22. Yes, the Leeds replay was a Tuesday afternoon definitely due to the power cuts But I was referring to the first game at AG on a Saturday and just noted the KO time, which I don’t remember It can only be for the same reason
