To be clear, IF we were to suddenly play well 2nd half, and win this game.

That isn’t anyway down to Liam Manning- as the game started, and once the game starts, he can’t make any changes to effect the performance.

so this is now on the players, Manning has already shown he has no idea.

This! In fact, I was surprised to see him calling the players over during an injury break... then again, probably just re-iterating the importance of sticking to the plan - despite the boos :D

15 mins gone, this is arguably worse than against Cardiff, front foot football it is not!

Our match day guest commentator seemingly happy with how well we’ve done off the ball, just waiting for the discussed forced-mistakes to occur... 🍿

Exciting stuff eh. Home team you say.

For whatever bizarre reason the club see it as a club vs fans sort of thing. Like we are the enemies. That's the culture within the club. Been this was for as long as I can remember.

Apart from when they want to use us all over social media of course.

That's why communication is so shite because as Jon says "you can't tell fans what they don't want to hear"

That with a tinge of arrogance, after all, what do fans know?!

Whilst we may not be paid or experts, many of us have been there and seen it too many times and can see the wood for the trees exactly because we aren’t ingrained in the expected internal workings and cultures.

Keep turning up and spending your hard-earned, then you have fulfilled your duty.

    18 months?

I'd have given him longer personally but totally agree with your post, length of contract aside.

You could see the clear direction of travel and where things were headed, despite the blips along the way. That clarity has now turned in to uncertainty, with a few people squarely to blame for the repercussions.

Simon Jordan was talking about this the other day. He said there are always break clauses in managerial contracts . Surely tinnion couldn’t be that ******* stupid , could he ?
Think I’ve answered my own question

Probably part of his negotiations that he’d want assurance over the minimum severance term on the basis that he was a) approached by us b) would be leaving a leave a club he was performing well at.

The fact that Pearson didn't address the fact in the summer that we needed a striker is half the problem

Pearson? Whilst the in-situ manager/ Head Coach may have a say from a shortlist put in front of them, isn’t it the club recruitment department that effectively curate that list?

Bit different than Pearson being able to independently say “here’s who I want, go get him”.

You can only show freedom if you are given it.

Often, when a lot of coaching is involved, it's about waiting for someone else's trigger movement

Therein lies my point, sometimes you have to force the oppo to react, rather than waiting for something to happen - force them to respond. Granted, you may concede a possession or a chance, but it works both ways right?!

Sounds so simple...difficult to employ when you have a static team all facing you (rather that the supposed direction of travel).

Can't believe how static we have become in games..throws.....general passing.

No one seemingly coaching movement off the ball....

Too much positional discipline and responsibility, maybe players need to have or show a little more freedom or a preparedness to gamble by making a run even though it may leave ‘their’ man free?

    Idehen recalled from Glovers loan

    18 December 2023

Duncan Idehen has been recalled from his loan spell at Yeovil Town

Idehen headed to Huish Park in November and made one appearance against Wrexham in the Emirates FA Cup.

The 21-year-old made his City debut in a 3-1 win against Derby at Pride Park in April 2022 as one of two substitute appearances for the Robins and has been a regular in the Under-21s over the past two seasons.

    Welcome back Duncan.

    Wonder what the reason is?!
