He was in danger of being released after Christmas last year, but basically said no way, and played the end of the season as if his life depended on it and silenced the doubters. That was basically 18/20 months ago. He really really wants it. We might’ve found another gem.

I think it’s unrealistic to expect him to play every game.

It could be a good move all round. 1. He wants to play. I’m pretty sure he can force his way into their midfield. 2. When he shows how good he is at that level he will have suitors higher up the food chain. A move at approx £50m will give us another £5m assuming a 20% sell on. 3. Relatively close to home. I say that with the caveat that I would love to see him play in our team next season. I think we’re going to surprise a few people.
