  1. I would have thought it's obvious that someone who has worked within a business for years and still has involvement in various capacities has a lot more knowledge of the running of the club and what's been achieved
  2. Well being an ex player knowing the people and what goes on within the club and still involved in a number of different ways will give him much more inside knowledge. Fans only get a tiny snapshot of what goes on within the club and therfore litle understanding other than what gets touted on social media
  3. Or perhaps he knows alot more about it than most / all on here
  4. Not everything was negative, my steak and ale pie was lovely and for a change I did not burn my mouth or have to wait 20 minutes to eat it, so all round a good job.
  5. They are elite athletes who by the very nature to get where they are have to be driven and self motivated, they do not need a manager to motivate them to pmay well. Not to say they can not become frustrated by a manager or disagree with what they are being asked to do, or in extreme cases of player power purposely put in poor performances, but that's not about the managers job is to motivate them as you claimed.
  6. If players being paid a fortune to play at this level need a manager to motivate them to try and win they are in the wrong profession
  7. Worryingly from some of the early promise after LM took over the last 3 games have been poor, but the biggest concern is the players don't seem to be together and appears discontent in the camp. Have always said as fans we only see a tiny bit of what is going on, and think we have some trouble behind the scenes, which will not be good if we get dragged into a relegation battle.
  8. I did not stop going when we were in the 4th division and have continued to buy a season ticket every year, so although its not great at the moment, will not stop me going
  9. Started a thread after the last game, it seems all is not well between the players
  10. Why? although I guess Tins or JL are to blame and should be hung out to dry for sanctioning a loan of someone that LM knows and maybe can provide a bit or creativity that we lack, who has been fit and played well for Hull all season and got injured playing in his 1st game for us.
  11. I agree at that price, but remains to be seen if Burnley need him or not
  12. What taps his head in cardiff after we realise he is not good enough for us anymore
  13. Not necessarily if they think he is injury prone, or they may have designs on alternative players with the massive parachute payment slush fund and money from Brownhill if as you say they sell him. I am not convinced as some on here that he will be going back, although will agree Burnley going down would make it more likely, but they were prepared to sell in January window knowing they may go down.
  14. I think we are playing a blinder, Twine wants to be here next season, so out half the season with injury, Burnley will be paying us to take him at this rate Before I get jumped on its not really a serious comment that its intentional, but could work out for us, if we fully understand the injury
  15. As you know Dave my posts generally tend to be on the positive side (perhaps even happy clapper) so its been some very difficult reading on here recently, most of which I have gone past being bothered to reply to as its so extreme and other stuff bored of hearing being constantly regurgitated for the sake of it. We are where we are, in general I like what LM is trying to do and I hope the initial buy in the players seem to have is still there, and the last couple of games have just been poor performances, due to a number of players having off days, perhaps hampered by team selection / substitutions. I am just hoping we blow Cardiff away and give an enjoyable run to the end of the season with some positivity for next year. The season is far from over for me, I just enjoy going to watch a game of football where we put in a good performance and I can chat over it with my mates over a few beers (just a shame they don't serve Butcombe any more)
  16. For whats its worth, I generally agree with all you are saying, the strange thing about Skyes was how players walked past and ignored him, it was very unusual and we were asking ourselves was there a bit more to it. Cam's effort to try and get back and block the cross after being beaten, was very unlike him, he normally busts a gut and even if not quite fit did not look like the normal effort, hence is there a bit of player power going on against LM, guess we will see if they all step up to plate in a local derby, win or lose you want to see the togetherness and effort. A good win in the next couple of games and the forum will be full of making the playoffs
  17. What a surprise a 7 page thread turned in to an excuse to beat the club with Yeboah will have a big future with us, but looked way off the mark when he came on, as others have pointed out it was down to injuries and or maybe Nige making a point about squad size. The loan can only be a positive for him and show he can play and score against a mens side. With regards to Medube, it would be silly to judge on what we have seen so far, but makes a good bit of business, to take a player LM has inside knowledge of, young very highly rated, so if it works out we could have a bargain, if it does not we wasted a bit of wages and he goes back.
  18. Always wanted NP as manager and will go down as my favorite, along with Cotts and obviously did not want him sacked, but and to quote my WSM flying friend, the elephant in the room, is there must be more to it than the obvious cover story as maybe the truth could not be given (although I think it was poorly handled), complete speculation, like everyone else. Now whilst I loved Nige and would have been very happy to see him invest the Scott money and have a go, I am not sure that the football was all that great at times (not saying we did not have any good performances), recent criticism of no plan B, was the same thing we said between our group of season ticket holders about NP, in fact parts of the last 2 games reminded me a lot of games under NP with every striker on the pitch and other times of hitting long balls down the channels, so cannot pretend all was always rosy before. When he was sacked I thought we would rush and appoint John Eustace who had Birmingham playing well. When we appointed LM instead I had my concerns about his experience as I always felt LJ and GJ had problems dealing with the better more experienced players, due to the lack of having been there and done it, particularly when results go south. In fairness to LM I did think at times we started to change things and going in the right direction, but the last 2 games have moved away from the direction we were going in, perhaps to many changes in players and shape, but think Cardiff is massive for him now, but even if we lose I would not panic and change, although that may change if things do not improve in 5 or 6 games.
  19. Not wanting to repeat the other let's sack everyone threads, watching the last couple of games I have started to wonder if we have trouble within the camp between the players, or perhaps maybe a bit of player power going on. Not sure if anyone noticed Skyes at the end of the QPR game, stood for several minutes, hands on hips looking really pissed off, in the corner of the South / lansdown stand whilst the other players clapped the fans, then when Knight approached he just walked straight past without any acknowledgement. Cam (1 of my favourite players) at Sheffield, I have never seen him put in so little effort to get back at his man and was a big hand in the 2 goals. May be down to being not fit to play, but looked like not wanting to put in the effort? When Manning's name was touted, my concern was his lack of doing anything in the game as a player or manager, when it starts to go wrong do the players retain the faith of what he is saying, in particular if senior players are not behind it. The early days, players seem to be enjoying the training but not sure if that still the case. Perhaps uncertainty over some players contracts and worried about getting injured Or maybe just reading to much into things off the back of a couple of bad results, guess having a derby will show who is up for it.
  20. He did at half time, took off 2 players who were either not fit or not interested, although should have taken them off before then.
  21. Pring normally one of my favourite players, but poor and not making the effort to get back when beaten, like he normally does, needs to come off
  22. Having to listen to a bias Wednesday commentary and they thought it was a sending off
