  1. Accept what all say would not what Tinman put in a difficult position, so maybe just comes in to assist CF. It seems most think CF will need to short term help, of course we do not know if and how much input NP is having, but until we are in a position where long term decisions can be made, it seems silly not to utilise Tinman's experience when we are currently struggling so much. I sure this could work in a way so as to not affect his position and status within the club, assuming of course Tinman wants to.
  2. Nige When you walked into our club, you gave us all so much hope for the future Now we are all hoping that you recover soon and continue the journey Get well soon
  3. Don't disagree it can look that way, although I have always been of the opinion their was a lot more to that, will also add that the current CEO we are talking about was not here at that time.
  4. Don't disagree that some of the answers could be better, although I think so much is up in the air at the moment and anything you say is taken down and held against you at a later stage. My point was in response to a post criticising that we had no planning, which I find laughable. Not sure RG was prepared or the right person to ask some of the football questions, think it was a hastily arranged exercise to try and put some of the rumours that NP has left to bed and reach out to supporters with a bit of information, in a time when its difficult to actually say that much
  5. Its OUR club (nice bit of sabre rattling) so we should be kept informed of ever decision and thought process going- you have got to naive in the extreme that any club, business or anything else does its planning in open forum or says any more than it needs to. Lucky you have nothing to do with running the club Perhaps if GT had asked "are you making plans if NP is unable to return", he would have said yes of course we have to consider ever eventuality and you would of been happy, although sure would have found something else to be negative about Instead you try to make out that RG is some sort of village idiot that has not thought I might need to consider what will happy if NP does not recover. There was me mistaken in that he was an experienced CEO, so I had to check and just to confirm teh sort of person SL has now employed:- SMC, Strategic and Military Leadership 1989–1990 at Sandhurt, JDSC, Military and Strategic Leadership 1996 Cranfireld, AMP, Business/Commerce, General 2006 Harvard, served as a tank commander as well as being a very successful CEO at Somerset & Surrey cricket Does this sound like someone who had not thought about what if? ohh best wait and panic at the last minute
  6. Are you really that naive to think a higher paid CEO who is very experienced in the sports industry, knowing that NP has long covid has not started to plan for different eventualities. Just because he did not spell it on radio Bristol dose not mean its not been done. As pointed out elsewhere in words of our past CEO, for once he would have it correct, the situation is "fluid", and whilst its a very difficult position to be in, we have to accept and deal with it and see how NP's health progresses. But you would rather portray they will be rushing to find the back of a fag packet to work it out on soon as they are not clever enough to think they might need a plan,
  7. I have added this to a couple of threads, but thought maybe it needs its own thread to discuss It would appear that NP has been suffering from his illness much worse and longer than any of us knew and difficult to know the effect on the team. I can't see the club able to resolve the long term future any time soon, but feel prior to the Jan transfer window decisions will need to be made. A lot has been said that CF needs help and if its not just the Cov result he is responsible for then that is urgently needed. Shakespere is the obvious answer, RG said we have not spoken to him, which means we still could. Which got me to thinking, what about getting Tinman involved with the 1st team as interim manager or similar role. I know his previous attempt was not successful but very different circumstance and will have learnt a lot since, well respected by players, knows the young lads, will not cost and a no risk option
  8. As I mentioned in a different thread, we already have someone who could come in and help / support / run the 1st team, Tinman, knows more about the club than anyone, knows the young players whilst some would point to his previous attempt at managing it was a long time ago and in a different situation. He is someone the players, club, fans know and trust and will not cost any money
  9. So you expect the CEO of a company to spell out any plans they are considering for various possible scenario's on a radio interview? apart from the fact contract / legally could be difficult negotiations to be had, but we are in a period of short term uncertainty until NP feels well enough to continue or we get to a situation where changes have to be made. With regards to Shakespeare he said no discussions were being had, does not mean they are not going to be The person Gt could have asked about coming in and giving support and may be a good short term solution is Tinman
  10. Problem is if Colin comes to the end of the season, its the players he brings in January window to fit his style that we will then be stuck with
  11. Not sure of the legitimacy of the "joint" press conference rumour But could be just as likely NP updating on health and taking time away or DOF role and Shakespeare coming in
  12. Can't see the roof open
  13. Think you might find running a club in the Championship creates a debt as next to none tend to be run at a profit , so whilst level of debt is down decisions at least we have someone prepared to keep funding championship football. Go and see how many clubs make a profit
  14. Because Ashton sold the family silver and invested the money whilst being wine and dined in knightsbridge on some prem cast offs on huge wages and fees
  15. All 3 of those teams have been built and then promoted from L1, based on hard work and team spirit. You are either able to maintain that momentum in the Championship or you start investing in higher wage more expensive players which is sometimes when it starts to go wrong. Bit like when we 1st came up to where we are now.
  16. Small price to pay for the income towards stadium costs it generates!
  17. Don't think me or any one else would disagree that we want to enjoy our football and everyone can go or not, but that is not what the discussion was about
  18. Again, trying to pass off thoughts as facts, you have no clue the cost of running the stadium versus with or without rugby and impact on BCFC, although it does stand to reason that having rugby is generating substantial income, and if that is going back to SL, well good it helps to offset when he is putting his hand in his pocket to cover the football clubs huge losses each year. Are you really that sensitive a soul to be upset that one name is above the other on twitter, with regards fixtures how has that ever affected us, if it has its passed me a most supporters by as we seem to play all our games, just part of letting rugby use our stadium.
  19. You have no clue what SL see's as his legacy or priority but just try to pass off your thoughts as fact to suit your agenda I have no issue with Bristol Sport, it make perfect sense sharing the costs of running a stadium that is only used about 25 times or so a year for football, this increases the money left to fund the playing side of the club. Not sure we are 2nd class in our stadium, I never get that feeling, yes we have some rugby pictures up, but small price to pay for the revenue brought back into paying to run it.
  20. Who knows what would or would not be included if SL decided he had enough, if that day come I would have thought it would be the complete Bristol Sport which actually I think would be more attractive to a prospective investor.
  21. I did not say LJ failed here as a manager, but the problem that GJ and LG both had was managing the bigger players, with big egos whom had played at a higher level
  22. Whilst performances are not what I expected from a NP team and yesterdays capitulation was an all time low, we have to recognise it was a patched up team missing a lot of starters and experience, hopefully with a 2 week break we can see the return of these players. As long as NP health is OK to continue and we show signs of improvement by xmas, then see no point in changing. However if going into the January transfer window performances have not improved and NP is not able to demonstrate how he can change it with the window, then plans must be place to make a change. Whilst Lowe is doing an excellent job, its very different stepping up to manage players who have played at a higher level, some with massive egos and are on big money contracts, this is where GJ & LJ failed, its easier when you have a bunch of hungry players wanting to get the league than those happy to just take the money
  23. Yes the evidence is one of the anti SL brigade created a rumour on OTIB to wind people up
  24. Even if we do would not swap our set up with swindle, gas Plymouth cardiff or any other local side. Whist its as bad as it can get, I have not given that we will stay up.
  25. Oh laugh, split my sides did you think up that clever repost all by yourself,
