  1. Always appreciate your (or any other posters!) analyses. Really helps highlight the intricate details and technicalities in terms of formations, movement, shape, counters, transitions etc. The little things you don't really notice or see when watching live. Thanks for the summary.

Must say, I do find we have often struggled to break down 5atb formations, especially at home. I hope we have found a breakthrough.

Great performance today. Hoping my first game this season will be at AG vs Birmingham. Can't wait! COYR

  2. As Nige states and others have referenced: if you're not going to win, don't lose.

Never easy vs Preston. Despite them playing well, they were certainly not close to full strength, so I'd be quite encouraged if I was them. We didn't have the intensity we claim/aim to play with. Poor ball retention. Also lacked creativity in midfield, a concern if/when Scott goes. Someone like their 10 would benefit us as a replacement. Internally we have Mehmeti perhaps or Benarous when back?

Defence looked pretty solid. Vyner really good from what I saw.

Not the best start but not the end of world either. Glad football is back regardless!

  3. Content overall.  Although performances on the pitch could have been better, the changes behind the scenes (e.g. improved wage structure and getting rid of dead wood) have been imperative. Things will only improve in the future.

The development and introduction of academy players has been great to see. I'd much rather witness this, than have a number of prem youngsters play and inevitably leave at the end of season - which a lot of teams have been heavily reliant on. Excited to see more young talent for us.

The growth in togetherness, resilience and squad spirit has been encouraging.

The loss of Semenyo was felt and the probable sale of Scott, despite being arduous to accept, could see us as a more solid and balanced team next season (pending a good summer window!).

I am excited for next season and fully trust Nige and the staff to push us on.

  4. Brilliant and rightly deserved! Best game for Cornick so far I'd say, be great if he could get a goal, but a great assist nonetheless.

Well done Sammy, another great performance. Same for JD. Really solid team performance. You'd think we were the team in the playoffs! And doing this without Scott and all the injuries on top.

Hopefully we can carry this on 2nd half. I'm personally really excited for the summer and next season. COYR
