  1. What is everyone's team? Would be nice to see Yeboah from the start, think he deserves it.
  2. If we had everyone fit (Which will probably never happen!) I would have a CB partnership of Kalas and Atkinson and Vyner and Dickie as backups.
  3. I really don't think we will sign a goalkeeper. I would welcome a goalkeeper to compete with Max but I don't think Pearson sees it as a massive priority with the other positions that need strengthening. Don't get me wrong Iversen would be a good signing but I don't think Pearson is looking at that sort of goalkeeper. If we go for a goalkeeper I think they will be older than Iversen and even more experienced. Also, I thought yesterday was Max's best performance of the season. Bar a couple of kicks out I thought he made a couple of good saves to keep the score down and that came when the team in front of him wasn't great (A part from James).
  4. I really don't like Naismith at CB, he is 10 times better in midfield in my view. But Roberts can play CB as well as Pring so you could pick one of them there and the other at LB. Agree fully with this. See how fit he can stay over the year and then make a decision next year. But as you say a fit Kalas is our best CB.
  5. Bristol City defender Cam Pring on West Ham rumours and fighting for his place - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk) New article released
  6. Yes I think Sam Bell was also over by the looks of it on the video
  7. GETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
  8. I know it is early times in Dickie's city career but I feel like Atkinson will eventually take back the spot from him. There will be good competition for places but I feel Atkinson is going to be to good to be sat on the bench. With Vyner still not signing a contract if that continues to linger on I wouldn't be surprised if Pearson starts playing Atkinson and Dickie when Atkinson is back if Vyner isn't willing to commit himself. I have been very impressed with Vyner this season so far and I hope his form continues but it would be nice for him to commit himself. I just hope this injury doesn't have an effect on the pre-injury Atkinson because the pre-injury Atkinson was brilliant and our best centre-back.
  9. He is 100% annoyed as shown by his interviews last night. Right now he is going nowhere I am very confident.
  10. Very pleased with his debut. Think he has earnt the right to start against Millwall but at the same time I wouldn't complain if Pring started. A good dilema to have.
  11. Very very worrying. Where was this said?
  12. As I said on the other Wednesday night thread I would go with: Max- Needs to get use to playing with Dickie in front of him and hasn't got any competition Tanner- Nobody else to play unless you are going to throw in Leeson which seems unlikely because A we don't want to risk chucking him in the deep end and damaging his confidence and B he played for the under 21's today so for those 2 reasons I don't think we will see him start. Vyner- Need to carry on playing him because he is becoming a valuable member of this team. Dickie- Needs to get used playing with Zak and Max. Roberts- May as well give him a game. Pring's performance was a bit average on Saturday so why not give Roberts a game. Williams- Even if we were playing a league game he would probably be starting with our current injuries you would expect to see him start. King- Would be logical to give James a rest to save giving him 3 games in a week. Knight- Would imagine the 3rd midfielder would be him with all the injuries. Sykes- As he didn't start on Saturday I would imagine him to start tomorrow. Conway- Same reason as Sykes Mehmeti- Would be nice to give him a start and give Sam a rest for a tough Millwall game on Saturday and would be nice to see Mehmeti be given a go from the start. Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Would be nice to get some more minutes into the players and hopefully start a cup run. COYR! Just read about Conway. Very worrying guess it will be Wells then.
  13. I expect to see something like: Max, Tanner, Vyner, Dickie, Roberts, Williams, King, Knight, Sykes, Conway, Mehmeti
  14. In regards to Max, I am really happy with how he has stepped up this season. I think he can remain as number 1 but it is essential to sign a goalkeeper to give him competition. That is exactly what we struggled with last season and so that needs to be addressed. The ideal solution would be to sign Sarkic from Wolves or Travers from Bournemouth or if we go down a different route and get in Chris Maxwell on a free. From what we have seen today of Bajic he looked confident which is a good thing because hopefully it will mean we have the 2 goalkeepers to go into the season with. I don't take much from pre-season games but if we want Bajic to succeed he needs to remain at the club and challenge Max. Loaning him back to France won't resolve any issues. If it is decided he can leave then I fully trust the club that it is the right call and equally if the club back him then I will trust them. Back to Max, I think it will be interesting to see how he does this season. The one thing I like about Max is you know he is happy to come out and claim crosses and that is a massive positive. We haven't had a goalkeeper happy to do that since Maenapaa. Bentley was not decisive enough when it came to claiming crosses and that is why the defence has much more confidence when Max is behind them because he makes his decision clear. Bentley may have been able to make a wonder save and put in MOTM performances but couldn't claim crosses. Max may not put in MOTM performances as regularly as Bentley with the Hollywood save but he does the basics well imo and he may make a mistake a few times but the club backs him and for me that is the main thing. Also, in pre-season last year Max looked to be off but he came back and claimed the No1 spot and he is another player this wonderful academy of ours has produced, not many teams have an academy like we do and that makes it so brilliant.
  15. Bournemouth may be spending 15/20 million euros on this left back which equates to £12,800,000/£17.150,000 so that takes out quite a bit of money if they pursue this deal meaning they may have less to spend on Alex Scott.
  16. Like the Rak- Sakyi suggestion, I think he would be a brilliant signing. In regards to other positions: GK- Chris Maxwell I think would be good. Got the experience needed and can give Max the healthy competition needed. CB- Jake O' Brien would be a very solid signing. Attacking Mid- Scott Twine would be a very impressive signing if we managed to pull it off. Striker- Not got a particular name in mind but would be very happy with a striker Going back to the CB options I am going to be interested to see Arayoe's involvement in pre- season. Would be nice to see a lad like him break into the squad next season so will be keeping an eye on his involvement. To be able to talk about all these academy players who could break into the first team gives me a really good feeling, a lot of clubs don't have an academy as good as we do and it is a brilliant thing which will attract a lot of people to the academy in the future knowing there is a pathway through to the first team if your willing to work hard.
  17. Good start to pre-season but need to carry this on throughout the whole pre-season schedule to get the players in top condition for the start of the season. I don't tend to look into pre-season games to much because you can have a good pre-season and start the real season of poorly but nevertheless a nice win and I hope we can keep this going.
  18. It is very apparent that Bajic isn't the player the club thought he was going to be, challenging Bents for number one with Max leaving but it has turned into Bents leaving and Max claiming No1 spot without Bajic properly challenging Max. I think a backup goalkeeper is crucial this summer because as much as I rate HWR we can't rely on him to be backup with the experience he has. For HWR he needs a good loan where he is going to be number 1 and he can get a good taste of mens football and then the club can review the situation next summer. Someone like Chris Maxwell who was at Blackpool last year would be perfect. Good experience, can give Max healthy competition, available on a free.
  19. O' Leary Tanner - Vyner - Dickie - Pring Knight - Naismith - James Weimann - Conway - Bell
  20. Welcome Jason! Buzzing with this signing, my favourite signing in recent times. COYR!
